Seeing the journey of the two is enjoyable, but anything post the hookup/confession period is braindead boring cuckoldshit for emotional female viewers.
Men prefer the thrill of the hunt, and not the stagnant boredom which comes after the prey is captured. It's very much true for any story as well, when it's being watched by a male viewer. Female viewers prefer the sexual and emotional side of it, so basically the actual romance which comes after the hookup.
