Does Yea Forums like Dororo ?
Yes. Its definitely my pick for AOTS.
Stopped caring for it after the the red girl died
I watched 15 eps and I still can't tell what gender is Dororo
Same gender as Kino.
Party is over
yes.
I'm starting to like it less as it goes along. Wavering production values aren't helping.
I liked it until this week's episode. So much QUALITY it was painful.
One of those shows that really suffer under its budget.
But I still wanna dance
the fucking moth just exploding into the watchtower had me and my buds just rolling
>AOTS
Yea, that was my revelation too
Reminds me the infamous Naruto vs Pain quality. It's like a malediction, every good anime must have a shit animation moment
I'm really liking the series a lot. It isn't afraid to tackle the ugly history of Japan and use it to create a compelling setting, Hyakkimaru is properly detached and socially distant for his circumstances and it's the right call to have him slowly adjust, and Dororo is genuinely likeable as a kid character. She's learned a lot from her rough life but is still trying to stay happy, in part as a general will to keep going and due to being so young and not yet jaded by time. The monster designs have a good deal of effort as well and look properly unnerving and disgusting, and so far it's been good to acknowledge that demons are still assholes instead of the trap of "humans are the real monsters." They're both douches in different ways.
The OPs are weaker than the EDs to be sure, though OP 1 had some fun to it. OP 2 is pretty forgettable, and even ED 2 is a bit weaker than ED 1, which felt really appropriate to hear after seeing the tone and content of each episode. So far it's only real weakness is the utterly foolish mistake of letting the guy who directed Gurren Lagann's fourth episode direct this week's episode. That guy is trash and had terrible direction, pacing, and animation.
The best part is that the show failed to indicate where the oil was stored or how far it could have gone after Dororo spilled it, so it's possible everything would have burned no matter what. All it takes is one moth flying at a torch and that entire village is inevitably going up in smoke. Aside from the matter of killing the largest moth, the issue solves itself.
Speaking of which, the flamethrower leg was pretty neat at the very least, and it was satisfying to see that moth go up in flames. However, that encounter was still way too rushed.
I like her smelly c-word
>manga moth arc
>lord gets brainwashed by moth girl
>Dororo recruits the villagers to help kill all the moths
>lord repents and becomes monk
>villagers see Hyakki regrow his leg and assume he's a demon then run him out of town
Killing everyone in the anime was revenge for how the manga did it.
I enjoy the adaptation but I like the manga better despite Tezuka's laziness when it comes to handle Hyakkimaru's disability. Also I'm waiting for the anime to be over to judge it in its entirety.
You mean shit drawings? Because Naruto VS Pain was one of the better animated fights of the series-
More like TTGL ep 4 as it was done by the same director as ep 15 of this show.
I still dont get why so many people like the first OP.
They are really trying to hide it, but god, does the second half suffer from a low budget.
If it was like this, they should have had finished it in 12 episodes.
It will smell of piss and rotten orange peels.
What makes you think that they have a lower budget. Do not use ep 15, thats the directors fault.
Perhaps the fact how they avoid fight scenes? First episode you have Hyakki jumping all around and slashing. Now? You see a shot of Hyakki's body and next cut is a demon dead.
amazing
To be fair the last couple of episodes have all been a bit ugly and underwhelming in it's presentation
When was that?
isn't that what makes the tyke great?
Insanely sexy walking onaholes?
that artist draws god-tier Cuteroros.

Don't look at Dororo like that.
I was starting to get bored of him until that episode where I learned his backstory and the fact that he's actually a SHE. Really made me appreciate her a lot.
don't worry I only see her in a pure, cute and sexual way
I really like the retro artstyle
that was rough, but you should keep watching
It flowed with the song really well and has some really cool imagery. Genuinely enjoyable to watch every time. The song was also catchy, the engrish sections helped that by being easy to remember and sing along to. It'll probably go down as my favorite OP of the year even though I'm finding the show to be disappointing in the whole. I listened to it over and over again while I was on a ski trip and it pairs really well with bombing down a hill at breakneck speeds.
I don't know what the reason might be, but this bothers me a lot.
The fight with the giant Buddha was short and weird, that with the moth demon was inexistent
all i heard (or read)was teen angst and impressive, but often meaningless visuals, like those headless horses. But i've had a similait issue with TK before, though not nearly as much, so that wasnt even the worst. The engrish eventually caused me to skip the opening until a new one would come in. It's such a Japanese story, having english included in the OP feels out of place. Some people say they needed a couple of times to get used tothe 2nd OP, I loved it on the first go.
Why did I say TK? I meant TG. God im autistic
olev
...
Doesn't bother me cause what happened in ep 13 didn't feel very important in the grand scheme of things.
I'll give you the moth one, but thats still the principal fault of Kobayashi.
>meaningless visuals
Half of those were taken directly from the manga as a tribute of forshadowing of next episodes, like with the headless horses.
Are the headless horses a trbute or foreshadowing?I'm guessing foreshadowing but I wanna be sure.
A tribute. That's basically how Dororo's flashback starts.
There's a whole chapter about a mare that dies and gets possessed by a deamon. Has some nice themes about family and abandonment that tie with main protagonists.
The demon of episode 13 was a kishin in the manga but for some reason they turned it into a generic youkai in this adaptation. While we had the demon in the "filler" episode 8 that was a kishin.
we guro now?
But that was never meant to be a foreshadowing for Midoro's chapter
I'm so pissed that this episode got the lousy director.
Imagine the body horror we could have got by nicely animating the spine crawling out of his back with blood and sweat.
You just have pleb taste dude, that was art.
Gotta admit, it's kinda hot.
You're not even trying
Thats what im saying.
Guroro?
the fuck happened to the animation?
I was being sarcastic, not necessarily baiting.
...
Even if it wasn't a bait, still low effort.
no, I definitely don’t think about fucking the loli ghosts. no, not at all
why is this dororo so fat and tubby
>tfw the party will almost be over soon
Yes.
She is cute and also funny.
She used her father's hidden gold to buy a lot of mochi
Baby's first philosophy, were they correct with burning down the village for what they did to the innocent kids?
hueh
Oh god, how will i survive without them.
The right question is, will they survive (without us)? I want at least a satisfying ending, they deserve it.
who else is betting for the scrapped manga ending?
wud u fug doror
Only if it goes like the PS2 game.
No.
I don't think so since dororo was born later than the deal with the deamons was made so how would it be inserted in her and on what grounds?
Next, in the anime maimaionba said that hyakkimaru is the one the twelth deamon couldn't devoure so i'm guessing he is still alive because his twelth part is all the time with him.
I'm not a fan of "A and B meet, but it was fate all along that they had to meet"
>shark boi arc is probably two parter
>might have to wait another week for Hyakkimaru and Dororo reunion
oof
>cute and also funny.
So, cunny?
It should be. The preview mainly showed Dororo and Itachi. So i guess that Hyakkimaru fighting with Shiranui and the treasure cave will be in two weeks.
yes
I gave it 13 episodes but it never really managed to gain momentum. Meanwhile the 60s version was easy to finish because it was goofy as hell. Not a great show, but at least good enough to finish and enjoy, despite loosing steam towards the end.
