I've been reading All Rounder Meguru, the romance is pretty low though.

There's All Rounder Meguru and the series is even finished, but the translations died a long time ago and the ending is kind of abrupt like the series was axed. But in general it focuses heavily on MMA and later on the romance between the MC and pic related.

This is the most underrated aspect of the manga. Saotome herself is great but the male lead is also great. It would have been so easy to make him some stuttering beta loser (which is what I feared he'd be after the first few chapters) but he genuinely supports her, struggles to put out results himself, and isn't afraid to be passionate towards her. This leads to many incredibly heartwarming moments.

i have to agree i see so much of myself in the male lead and i relate to him so much, if you go on manga rock the manga is also in the shy boys reading list.

he is not a loser nor is he a chad he is just average and acts very realistic to situations like an average teenage boy would.

Yeah that's something a lot of waifubait romances fail to do. They focus purely on the waifu and leave the male lead to be a total non-entity. Partly because the author just wants to use it as a way to focus on the type of girl (or girls) he likes, partly because they think makign them a nothing character means otaku waifuists will be able to self-insert easier.

Satoru's actually his own character though and he and Saotome compliment each other well which makes it work, especially as a lot of the series is about how the relationship makes both of them stronger. Satoru does kind of start out wimpy but he's definitely more confident now if still an awkward dork.

well depends on what you're looking for I guess. this manga is first and foremost a romance manga, while Eyeshield is 100% sports with little room for romance (even though hints were thrown about Suzuna and Sena or Hiruma and Mamori but they never explored that further)
