Its not that I didn't like the weird shit. Its that for the last 3 episodes they obviously ran out of money to animate the monsters. It was just voiceover over mainly static shots and thats weak imo

The end of the series might not have fancy budget, but if you expected a lot of action for a psychological drama, you need to re-evaluate your expectations.
It tied in perfectly with the main themes and provided a LOT of character introspection and a desire for improvement.
Also EoE has more action.

I just think that pic related is the show they really wanted to make but lacked the budget. It has that level of polish, nice balance of deep themes/action, and visual aesthetics that are, lets face it, important in an animation.

I can understand not liking the last 3 episodes if you didn't watch it since it feels unfinished but when you watch End of Evangelion it becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
