In the manga she just looks surprised. I guess the panel at the bottom right corner could be seen as blushing but it looks more like hatched shadow since it's over her eyes, not her cheeks.

True, but a proper adaptation needs to be willing to make changes where necessary. So far the adaptation has seemed kind of gutless; they've been faithfully adapting scenes without thinking too hard about them. It's a straightforward adaptation of a good manga, but the end result is not necessarily a good anime.

Please no. They already did this when she played the koto on ep 2. Just keep it to one or two lines of how amazing she is so we get the point, but no, we have to have a fucking audio novel over it.

That shigatsu show also did this to no end, ruined every single piece. Nodame is the only that did this perfectly, just a few lines to convey what's going on or what's on the listener's mind and let the viewer figure it out to enjoy the music.

It means he kind of sucks but his tone is more melodic and gentle than it should be for a total noob. Still it's not as big a deal as the scene makes it seem. They're surprised only because he was supposed to be a turbo noob. As it turns out, he does have some experience with the koto.

I'm not expecting Hibike's kind of unbroken performance scenes, but as long there's enough segments without talking it should be fine.

We'll see, though. From what little I've read of the manga it's a very 1:1 adaption, but that's not a good thing when it comes to performance scenes that are functionally impossible to do in manga form.
