How many one-shots of it are there already? I didn't read any and I'd like to.

Yes. I hope this ushers in a new series where Light returns as a Shinigami. Having the limitless power of the Death Note in his hands now and unable to die, he can fulfill his initial plan. However, he has to be careful because the Shinigami King will try to stop him once he realizes what goes on. Also good way to do someone with the king for once.

To be fair Obata is just the artist and the art of platinum end isn't bad at all.
It's just unfortunate he can't get a good writer.

I still wonder why they didn't go for any of the ideas in Bakuman. Yeah, a lot of them were parodies of existing series, but I would've loved a PCP manga.
