for me, it would be a darksouls inspired 2d action-platformer rogue-like. Basically you start at the top, at orth. The Abyss is a procedural generated dungeon that extends downward, and eventually loops back on itself on the x axis. Its filled with randomly generated loot, enemies, equipment, and etc. The goal of the game is to delve into the abyss, find artifacts, and return them to the surface to sell. The deeper players go, the dungeon becomes harder but more rewarding. I imagine there will also need to be some kind of a party system, to introduce tactics and diverse variety of skills.

One that doesn't exist because changing the perspective of the story would ruin the tone and themes.
