The archduchess wears a dress for most of it is one thing. Most of the other issues stem from the plot and pacing generally being worse in the second half of the show. Several asspulls kind of drag it from being "alright" to "what were they thinking" territory.
It's really a shame because there are still some nice moments in the second half as well.

Eh, my problem with the show was rather that Izetta was sometimes way too powerful and practically didn't need the help of her allies.
I would have preferred if they had constantly reduced her overall power level and then used her abilities more cunningly to defeat the Germanian Empire, instead of just being femmeAnakin/Luke Skywalker and bulldozing the opposition as long as she's in a leyline area.
Also, there's still the plot hole where one wonders how the Germanians managed to capture her in the first place, and the nonsense supertech level where they could clone the traitor witch Sophie, but otherwise only had normal technology appropriate for the second world war era.
Oh well, all in all, I enjoyed the anime. I just don't consider it great enough to want to watch it again.
