It had fun threads

I felt like it had a lot of potential but at the end of the day didn't deliver, the ending felt like they just wrote themselves into a corner and something's where left unanswered. The thing that really got to me though was the lack of expressions/emotions from the characters, like your school mates are dying but the characters have no reaction at all; its just so awkward to watch. But despite the flaws it still enjoyable as a mediocre anime.

Good atmosphere in the first half

The manga is actually pretty good, went out and bought the phonebook sized omnibus. Should have been a 3 part OVA, since they added a bunch of extra gore. Beach episode was unnecessary but with the death at the end and seeing our pale goddess in a sukumizu it was all worth it.

Fun threads? Explain.

Good comedy.

pie

good atmosphere, ok music, shit everything else.

Decent enough but ending wasnt satisfying

I watched it because of the pie memes and hoping for some unintentional comedy, but I wound up never getting to any of that because the first episode's build-up was just so boring.

Best horror anime ever made to date, notice that I'm not saying it was a good anime.

With all that fun going and fan service in a single episode, it was obvious someone was going to die. The calm before the storm. I enjoyed it.

Pies everywhere

Best unintended comedy i have ever seen so far

Not bad. A bit slow at times. Nice horror music. The twist at the ending actually got me.

It sucked, but was entertaining as hell.

Mei was cute, I don't remember anything else about it

Post pies

Can someone explain the pie thing?

The manga is actually better. Better ending. Both Izumi and Kazami survive.

retarded fun show
twintails was superior girl over eyepatch though

>superior
She was hotter, but less cute

Cute > hot

garbage

Back in the day before phoneposters we used to have fun and make oc.

For years I have seen this gif right here and, one day, I said to myself "It is time to watch that anime".
But, I didn't know that anime's name. The only thing I knew was the gif, a girl with an eyepatch.
So, I just googled "anime girl with eyepatch", google gave the name "Another", I downloaded it and watched.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, just fun. The surprise was PA Works doing real anime before trying to copy Kyoani in every single way.

Better than Kings Game but the heroine what a bitch wanted to kill off the class cause she can't remember their names.

I've forgotten everything about the show except for some of the funnier deaths and the pies. Oh and I think they danced in the classroom once but maybe that was a dream?

Attached: 1332289560791.png (1268x704, 446K)

Just a dream, yes.

Umbrella through the neck/10

Just Another so bad it's good horror anime

show you'd recommend like that?
not King's game, that's was just bad

It was alright...i guess...

Maiyoiga or however it's spelled

Not scary at all but very fun to watch, i would recommend it.

I'd imagine if Shibito no Koe wo Kiku ga Yoi got an anime it'd be able to nail both of those

Higurashi if it panned out like Darling in the Franxx.
Good first half with great atmosphere, over the top death scenes and good main characters, with lots of potential, that just kinda fell apart later when they started killing of like 5 characters an episode while simultaneously trying to develop everyone in the entire class. Not terrible or anything but leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

youtube.com/watch?v=4aCpGEPSS4g this scene comes to mind

>Maiyoiga
Score: 5.63
t-thanks user

I genuinely liked it, without memes or irony; I thought it was a pretty good mystery / supernatural story.

a classic, one of the first anime to include on any spoopy Halloween playlist

This show was nowhere near as awful as Franxx

wrong opinion

fpbp

Not him, but Mayoiga is actually pretty funny

Ok, explain how this is worse than Franxx

This was a shit show with great threads. Franxx was a mediocre show with shit threads.

That explains nothing at all

Mediocre is better than shit.

Best anime adaptation of Final Destination.

You still haven't explained your reasoning, I am asking WHY you think Franxx was better than this

shit opening

It had a nice atmosphere.

You haven't explained yours. Ignoring the fun Another threads, and ignoring the Trigger overhype threads, why do you think this was better?

The ending was a rushed clusterfuck
Just another example of decent anime with potential but fucks it all away on its conclusion

>why do you think this was better?
No excessive melodrama, no NTR, no Abe propaganda, no blatant waifubait. Both shows have retarded ending twists but the aunt being the killer is still less retarded than IT WAS ALIENS ALL ALONG

>no NTR
Which NTR are you talking about? Hiro choosing a girl he wasn't assigned to, or Mitsuru choosing a girl he wasn't assigned to?

You known damn well I'm talking about the Fatass thing

>If a guy has one-sided feelings for his coworker, she's obligated to fuck him
Yeah, that's not what NTR means.

So did Mei and MC ever fuck?

I liked it.

Mei seemed very asexual too me.

So boring you can watch another anime

You can say that about most anime.

yes

This show had the best memes but the weekly speculation was fun too. I don't think I've ever had so much fun in threads as I did in these.

Attached: 1465526709437.gif (289x180, 561K)

Why would there being a ghost in the class make Final Destination occur?

Attached: 1350953775631.jpg (1280x720, 246K)

Mayonegg was pretty fun to watch too with the weekly threads

Another's Death has worse aim than Final Destination's. He keeps trying to kill the already-dead person, but accidentally hits another person.

Attached: hairpie.gif (207x400, 870K)

>gif
I chuckle

Another genuinely creeped me out a little bit, maybe the first anime to ever do that, right up until this scene and then I pretty much just laughed at all the rest of the deaths.
I still actually liked the show though

Attached: 1420855171140.gif (310x175, 2.9M)

Too bad she died, especially so early. I liked her.

Attached: Not Kawaii.png (615x350, 235K)

Okay but who the fuck was the guy in the last ep? a serial killer?

Kazami had gotten insane and was randomly killing fellow students, hoping to kill the extra. Doesn't happen in the manga though, and he survives.

He died though, it's a doppelganger.

I rewatched Another and Shiki for Halloween last year. Shiki was better, but they were both still good.

it wasnt

Goddamn I bet she regretted bringing her razor-sharp specially made spear umbrella to school that day.

That elevator scene was fucking retarded. Totally broke the immersion for me and probably that's where the pie meme comes from, like someone smashed a plate of pie into your fucking face

WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST SEND EVERYONE TO DIFFERENT SCHOOLS FOR THAT PARTICULAR GRADE?

stupid final destination ripoff
mc should have fucked his mom
cute eyepatch girl

i only watched another because i wanted to join commie back in the day, & episode 1 was one of their timing tests
it was a fucking joke, it almost felt like a discount higurashi. but at least it wasn't as bad as mirai nikki, lol

>the aunt being the killer
The what now? Is it that different from the manga? Or do you mean killer metaphorically?

Another is the best piece of horror fiction I've seen up to this point, and it's all because of how the monster is designed, or rather, how it's not a monster at all, but a curse.
Monsters aren't scary, because they're inherently ridiculous, they don't exist. What's scary, is getting run off the road by a giant truck. Or an elevator crash, or a random brain hemorrhage, or a lightning strike. Any number of freak and not so freak accidents that can come from any direction and can never be prepared for.
But that's not the half of it, because for this curse in particular, the more you think about it, the more likely you are to become a victim. This is established over and over again. Everyone talks about the final arc like it's some hilarious trainwreck, but this chain of events is exactly what they should have expected. The whole class ended up abandoning all their mental conditioning and started trying to actively fight against the curse, and this is a terrible idea.
That's what makes it so scary. You can't think about it, you know you can't think about it, so how can you possibly stop yourself from thinking about it? The brain doesn't work like that. You just fall into an endless spiral and you are FUCKED.

Mei is TOO cute

Dead fanbase

very kino

Yup that's what started it all.

I'm ashamed of myself for not realizing the twist until it became obvious

What I like most is that the person making these gifs was too lazy to use a different picture of pie.

Watched it so damn long ago I dont even remember the plot. Somebody wanna fill me in?

Yeah, they were comfy

another one haha

Good Anime
Yea Forums ruined all the threads with comedy garbage. Sad shit.

Some guy died in class like decades ago.
The class pretends he still exists.
Death gets confused and starts killing people trying to re-kill the person he already killed that everyone is pretending is still alive.
This causes a curse to happen at the school where one person that is supposed to be dead is part of the class, so there's a person that shouldn't be alive just chilling with everyone else. Death doesn't like that so he kills people to try and re-kill the dead person.
Fast forward to the present.
The curse is mitigated by straight up ignoring the existence of one person, some how this is enough for Death to think that there is no actual extra person just chilling with alive people.
MC joins in as a transfer student. They can't tell him about the curse because then they'd acknowledge the person they're ignoring which would go against their plan on how to not die against the curse.
MC then talks to the girl being ignored, which causes people to start dying.
Then it's just a slippery slope of people dying as more and more people start thinking about the curse and acknowledging Mei's existence.
The show ends with MC figuring out who the "Another" is and killing that son of a bitch, which stops the deaths, after like 3/4 of the class is dead. Also the main heroine can see dead stuff with her glass eye, idk this part confused me.

you forgot best girl dies.

I legit thought that it was pretty funny. It could have easily been good, but it was hard to take it seriously with how pretentiously dark it was trying to be without any hint of self-awareness.

Izumi is such a fantastic girl. I'm glad she managed to make it through without dying - she threw up a lot of flags in that last episode, but she managed to pull through anyway.

I especially liked the ending, where everyone realized what a terrible character Mei was, so Sakakibara decided to hook up with Izumi. The last scene, where the two of them kissed on the ferris wheel, looking down at the town was really romantic. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who teared up a little bit.

Izumi simply gets things done. She's a girl who has the lives of all of her classmates riding on her shoulders. She carries that weight and won't let it break her. She values the lives of other people - she cares about what happens to them, and as they start dying, the knowledge that she's partially responsible starts to build up on her shoulders. But does she give up? No way. She just keeps going along, trying not to crack under the pressure.

This comes as a contrast to Mei, who, when Sakakibara talked to her, decided to talk back, dooming her classmates to a horrible death. She even knew who the extra was all along, but rather than say anything, she decided to let even more people die. In the end, the only reason she bothered to go stop the extra is because her classmates finally decided to kill her; she might not care if other people died, but once her life was in danger, then she'll do something about it. She's selfish and a sociopath.

Izumi however, didn't hesitate. She went to kill the extra when she (thought) she knew who it was. She wasn't going to let anybody else die. She's smart, beautiful, nice and mature. And to top it all off, she's a god damned hero.

She's a fantastic girl. And I for one am very glad that, rather than dying a senseless death in the last episode, she instead survived and hooked up with Sakakibara. She earned that little slice of happiness.
