I wouldn't find these threads about disliked cliches half as cancerous, if people at least posted the instances they were thinking of.
30% of such a thread feels like exaggeration for comedic effect, and another 20% is exaggeration to make a political point.

It's impossible to discuss any of the complaints because they are always in a generic sense and never about a specific example, and so discussion is dead, and all you could possibly gain from such a thread is the smug satisfaction that you are smarter than "anime", whatever that means in your opinion.

Which series?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. People always list "tropes" but can never come with actually examples when pressured to

Are there any jap fantasy series (besides Berserk and Spice & wolf) which has aesthetics that are actually inspired by the renaissance or Middle Ages? I am really getting sick of the typical anime fantasy, it’s basically modern day but with a fantasy coat over it.

Any anime inspired by the Dark Ages?

Oh no not politics in my mangos!

Watch more anime.

>isekai doesn't give a fuck about slavery in their fantasy world
They do, actually. They regularly kill slavers to free monster girls. It's just that they have no problem with becoming slavers themselves.

>Character quotes Rousseau
Hopefully one day we'll get an isekai MC who quotes Robespierre.

>isekai MC who quotes Robespierre.
There won't be one. Japs are too pushy to change the status quo.
