ITT: Tropes you hate

>character uses a power he never had before
>doesn't know how he did it

Attached: Disappointment.jpg (960x720, 328K)

>this power will shorten my lifespan!

>mc is the most powerful beyond their years and station and all the other characters are like wow let's spend our personal time talking about how powerful that character is

>ITT: Tropes you hate
thank god, another one of those

>tfw want to write a story that bends one of these tropes in such an absurd way that's it becomes entertaining
>like taking and actually making the character die
>or , make a story where the character has such confusing powers and there's not even a mentor trope character to explain it, he just struggles the whole way along, hurts his friends multiple times, learns some things, discovers exceptions to rules he's come up with and just overall doesn't even dig below the surface

but
>tfw not good at writing

>there's only a 1% chance of survival

I know it's probably just angsty edge but I'll post some more of my weird ideas that I think would make for good stories alongside the tiresome tropes

>Character that's really good at everything but is also super innocent and everyone likes him, his existence exists merely as a way to make the main character look immature, the main character at some point will lash out at this guy and everyone will think he's an ass for doing so

I think it would be interesting to have the main character actually befriend this person, learn from him and eventually become him, or atleast have gay buttsex, it's sad to see the main character always be immature and hate this legit chad

>tfw good at writing, good grammar but shit typography
And all of it was for having genetic tremor,

Attached: Heh.....gif (400x279, 1.78M)

Fuck genetic tremors man literally ruined any chance of me being good at drawing.

>characters that are so 1-dimensionally tsundere
>often there's a half ass backstory of them being abused but it's clear the writer just wanted to include a tsundere character
I wish someone would write a story where the character is tsundere for a very short time but lightens up very quickly once it's clear that the main character is trustworthy
basically just an asshole

Attached: anime-character-giving-away-a-prize-and-acting-tsundere.jpg (800x450, 87K)

Damn I never even knew that was a thing, that sucks, you could probably half learn to draw and have a weird pingpong like style

I really wanna see an anime that gets like 20 episodes in, fully fleshed out story, lore, everything, really well done
But then it just turns into porn and all you finally get to see all the hot characters actually fuck
Like if OPM just suddenly aired a scene of tatsumaki getting fucked, no convienient censorship or anything, just full on porn

I want to learn how to write and draw just to do this, spend years writing a totally sfw manga and then just drop the bomb

I just wanted to be good at drawing and writing, but nature fucked me in the ass and now i'm becoming a scienceboy
>Flute class in HS,tremor is average, goes all-autism due to being neurotic, which it was caused by tremor in the 1rst place
and the teacher still gave me a 10 because i was good at it,yet when doing it on pressure it would fuck me up
>scared to touch anyone, think they'll notice that i'm shaking but can't fucking help it
>can't hold hands without shaking, this fact makes my hands sweaty
>still in uni, becoming a scienceboy, can't write shit well despite me being good at physics
I wanna fucking kill the ancestor that had tremor before me,so i'll never live with this
Yet i still try

Attached: uuuurrraaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.gif (472x472, 2.62M)

>main character is an otaku
>gets the girl
I wanna see an anime where shit happens like it would in reality
He gets no girl, he gets insulted all the way and everyone hates him

SUBVERTED EXPECTATIONS isn't good writing either though.

See Eva 3.0

comrade, you will never understand the perfection that goes in each ones head, try to make it on paper and despite your whole effort and skills,it's still not as you thought,it's frustrating.
Sorry if i'm projecting unconsciously, but you triggered something on me

Attached: whydoyoudothis.png (272x340, 149K)

Except EVA 3.0 wasn't about subverting expectations, and was actually brilliant all along.

I guess it is just edgy subverting expectations for the sake of subverting expectations but I want to see it done in such an absurd way that it goes down in history for being so batshit

That sucks, user, but props to you for trying. You can still try writing and drawing, no matter how bad your tremor is. I’m an artfag; one of my best teachers was colorblind, but he still made amazingly realistic oil paintings. There are also blind artists who can paint and draw. Hell, my handwriting is damn near illegible, but I put a lot of care into the fine details of my art. So you can use your weakness as a strength, and integrate your tremors into a unique style. The same goes for creative writing; practice never makes perfect, but it can greatly improve your diction and flow. Best of luck to you in the sciences.

>Nooo, don't take your revenge on this horrible person who put you through unspeakable suffering and has killed several of your friends. You're BETTER than that.

Fuck. RIGHT. Off.
I am so sick of this shit. The last time I even remember seeing this was in Deadpool 1, and if you ask me, the choice to kill the guy was not treated with the gravitas it deserved.
If some asshole ruins my life, kills people I care about, has not humanity left in him/her whatsoever and I get the opportunity to end their life, I'm fucking taking it, and I wanna see more character with that mentality.

That's actually a good mechanic from keeping a character from being too OP, Imagine if Superman couldn't fly, lazer eye, cold breath, or super speed because those would use up his life span leaving him with basically super strength and near invulnerability. Character automatically becomes better because now he can't cheese and good villains could exploit that shit.

>Character wants to meet/become God

I wanna see a character development where the guy doesn't become a villain but stops being a typical shonen pacifist
Have him let the villain go the first time because he's "Better than that" but after seeing the consequences of letting him go, the next however many villains he just kills without a second thought, fully understanding that they're a menace to the world and need to be put down

The last jedi did this and it was shit

>MUH HERO OF JUSTICE
Even if it's just for the sake of later subverting it.

Attached: Gen Urobuchi bingo.png (835x650, 980K)

>I didn't know there were humans in the robots!

Just practise my man, I'm trying my best to git gud at drawing

>character acquires new power/weapon
Knows how to use it immediately.

Powerlevels don't equal development, a character can still be boring even he has to work around rules

No it isn't you retarded shounen baby cuck, it's just a cope out asspull with no actual consequence.
A characters life span being short means nothing if the story ends long before that day ever comes, it then has no impact on the story beyond getting the mc out of a bad situation, it has no gravity or agency, it's just a shitty cope out for battle shounen garbage.
Fake tension, fake consequence, shitty ass pull.

>new power unlocked precisely when it's needed

>decide to have semi realistic combat
>stuff works like everything has a hp system
>rate of fire/caliber doesnt match with sound

In all my days, the absolute worst troupe ever is meme science.
Like manga writers are just fucking unintellegent and have zero basic third grade knowledge, so when they try to write these clever "science based" back door solutions or moments they just turn out completely flawed.

>I guess it true what they say.........lightning strikes at the highest point :P
first of all, i hope that's just a bad translation.

2nd of all, i'd love everyone to stand next to a tall conductive structure the next time you're caught in a thunder storm, i'd be fun.

Not only is it a complete fallacy, but it's just bad plot armor mary sue bullshit, the character was in a completely compromised position, and it's implied that this next attack would kill him, naturally you expect some kind of well written or thoughout back solution, and all you get is the dip shit writer making a mockery of himself, it's just bad all around.

fuck anime trying to use 'science' they don't understand.

Forgot pic, but on the subject, idc about magical rules and shit like that, it's only a problem when they imply "this is totally a thing that actually happens"

Attached: hahahafuckoff.png (872x1298, 1.22M)

>love interest is super hot, super popular, gets perfect scores, and is great at sports

Is there something unreasonable about being an all-rounder?

>Schrödinger's cat

>male and female character barely interact with each other
>are married in the epilogue
This has got to be the shittiest trope in anime. Like, what's even the point? There would literally be no difference if they didn't get together. It's really disappointing how pervasive this is in almost all shonen.

>Protag gets involved with heroine through some life and death supernatural shit
>Pretending to not know each other at school
>Their friends inevitably find them hanging out together
>Her friends "I can't believe you're going out with a weirdo loser like him? And his friends are total rejects too!"
>His friends "You traitor, how dare you go out with the hottest girl in the school you disgusting unvirgin I'm so fucking jealous"
>Both: "It's not like that at all!"

I can say this legit, I was mad at a unvirgin friend

I am ok with this if it actually shortens it. often time the story ends and the MC lives for a long time because of having a rediculous lifespan

Loved how it was used in Death Note.

>"This power is going to shorten my lifespan? Fuck that. I need to live as long as I can if I want to see my plans come to fruition."

A supposedly professional team that the MC has joined is filled with bickering and shrieking in front of the principal or the commanding officer.

Said superior does NOTHING to stop this or bring the ranks in line. They're seen as a completely capable and reliable leader.

>he blames his ancestor for tremor
Be thankful your ancestors weren't retarded idiots who thought fucking sisters and brothers makes their blood nobler. Half the time I can't even tell what is real and what isn't. Thank fucking god I'm gonna die alone and won't curse another human being with my "noble" genes,

This. There's all of one manga I can think of where it actually mattered, and that was Kenshin. By the end of the series Kenshin has run into the problem a lot of Olympians run into, which is that intense, record breaking physical activity ultimately wrecks your body once your past your peak years. So he's no longer able to properly fight like he used to. Don't know how this affected the newer, epilogue stories though.

Maybe he has tremors because his ancestor fucked his sister

Fair point.

>Character does an attack where its abilities can be perfectly seen and the viewer can work out what it does.
>Spectators need to comment and have a nanohoddo moment telling us what is does.

To be fair, its a double edged sword, some series would be pretty wierd if there wasn't context to the weird shit. But the authors could've made something like the characters who are using the technique, think about it instead of a comment

>MC's friend is a better character than the MC and person who literally points out basic shit the MC should've noticed/understood already.
>He gets dumped on by everyone especially the MC's harem.
>He goes out of his way to help the MC or do something worth respect and he literally gets no thanks or the harem doesn't chill out on their picking of him.
Bonus:
>He doesn't even get a girlfriend

This trope personified.

Attached: youhei_sunohara.jpg (500x375, 58K)

>naive goody two-shoes character goes through hardship and terrible loss
>still doesn't want the death of antagonists that are literally worse than hitler

Attached: good friends.png (600x870, 331K)

Sweet release when?

>OP fails to use the catalogue

>character is fairly getting their ass kicked by their opponent in a duel/tournament
>suddenly, a deus ex machina appears out of nowhere, despite never having been established before, to help them/tell them what to do in order to win
>this totally isn't cheating

Attached: anime20.png (1080x1288, 1.36M)

Have fun getting blacklisted from TV regulation committees.

>falling in love with best girls
Whats the problem here?

>straight teen male with dirty magazines and dreams of getting a gf
>naked hot girl literally plopped on his lap and dtf
>"AAAAAH NOOOOO PUT YOUR CLOTHES BACK ON"
