At least Vegeta had a sympathetic past though as the saiyans were under the tyrannical rule of Frieza. All that happened with Bakugou was that he was praised and thinks that allows him to be an asshole for soooome reason.

That's a pretty awful comparison, so I guess I have to defend the writing of Dragon Ball of all fucking things. Vegeta was literally dying as the second to last Saiyan in that moment, a very easy short hand to elicit sympathy from at least the characters whom he had been with in that arc. So even if you didn't care for him it at least made sense that the noble heroes would feel something. Not to mention the guy really did get shit on by life.

Hori has tried his best to clean up Bakugou and make his abrasive attitude more of a (for lack of a better term) quirk, and that works for a lot of people, but others can't shake what a complete shitter he was to begin with. He was much more of a smug asshole early on rather than a hothead. I do feel that a lot of the rhetoric used to criticize Bakugou is retarded though. Most people are just butthurt that Deku won't beat him up. Still seething years after their second fight, which I thought was one of the best parts of the manga.
