All he really needs to do is cease flying and give himself some enhanced form of mobility on the ground, and think a whole lot bigger in the scale of attacks hes going to make.

Lolisaki was already wary of the higher ups catching on, but in reality Aleister probably knew it all and chose not to do anything. That's why she was hesitant on stepping in on project IDEAL until the experiment went wrong.

As for within Tokiwadai, Misaki usually doesn't go looking into the minds of every girl she passes by. Most of the time she only looks into and concerns herself with girls within her own clique.

Since this is Gunha we're talking about, the strength of his defenses/regen and the amount of visible damage he takes as a result might simply be based on what he feels would be gutsiest at any given moment. In this case, he's having a manly fist fight against a middle school girl, so a bit of blood makes it cooler. In both of the fights you listed, he was up against an overwhelming enemy, so not going down no matter what and tanking everything was the guts thing to do.

Railgun sucks when you read it month-to-month, even the Daihaseisai which is probably the high point for most people felt kinda shit until Gunha showed up. On the re-read, you're not constantly going "wait, that's it?" so it's a much more enjoyable experience.

I think Fuyukawa just has the problem of having long expanses of nothing happening that isn't really relevant to the arc itself from what I noticed in Vol 8. Vol 1 is different because there was lots happening but I feel over-time Railgun has been getting more and more bloated the most cast members they're trying to fit in. It doesn't work with his writing style nor the script. I know Kamachi provides and outline but it is fuyukawa who has to put it into action. Railgun might actually work better as a LN at this point than a manga.

I enjoyed it, I stopped being interested in it after Kimi 'unleashed the beast' on Mikoto, after that I feel like the arc is over-staying its welcome and losing steam. I'm only in it for her right now.

Jailbreak definitely had some good ideas going in it. I liked the self healing wall getting beaten by the logs. But it also showed the warning signs we're getting now of Fuyukawa doing things just because he can rather than for a good reason; Mikoto reveals she had a bunch of robot suits under her control the whole time and is ready to steamroll the jail, suddenly the arc is over anyways with uiharu rendering the reveal pointless. And now; Oumi and the ninjas are shown in AC looking for things, and then Tsurigane just jobs while no one she fights even gives a shit about her motive so she's not even going to reflect on it.

People were memeing Rakko and the Scavengers to death but no one cares about the two that have been defeated so far.

I don't really agree with this. This isn't the railgun anime which feels the need to randomly spend time on the likes of Mii or Tsuzuri. The manga (and the SS novels) basically just focus on the 4 main characters and the arc characters, who almost all fuck off when their arc is done. The closest thing to a recurring supporting cast would be Touma and Misaki, but even they don't show up all that much and aren't even in the current arc.

M8, Daihasei was bloated as fuck and I found no reason why half of the chars in it needed to be involved in the first place. "reoccuring supporting cast" isn't my point, my issue is chars who have no real place in the arc is suddenly part of it for no reason.

But the problem isn't characters persisting between arcs, the problem is that there's too many characters in one arc. It worked for the start of jailbreaker when we were panning between groups and not sure who would win and all that, but keeping almost the same cast size here is clearly a mistake.

Well, I'm sorry to tell you it is. Saten, Kuroko and Raifu all haven't added anything to the story, and Tsurigane lost her chance at adding anything this chapter. It's pure bloat. The absolute number of characters is what you're focusing on without noticing that we're in a much tinier segment of the arc when you say "currently". The difference with Railgun and Index is Tsurigane here wasn't given the Nics Everblind treatment and tossed aside. When it's clear that if Fuyukawa wasn't actually going to use her story, that she should have been.

Raifu and Tsurigane are Kimi's friends and gang members. They are protecting her. Kuroko and Mikoto are Uiharu's friends and are trying to rescue her. That's why this is happening.
