The talk about how C&T sing "normal pop music" made me remember the kinds of pop music I like. And brought me to a useful comparison of what I like to what I don't like. Jennifer Lopes. She has songs in both english and spanish, and they are both pop songs, but her spanish songs are to my liking, while her english songs are not.
Why is that, I asked myself, and found an answer: rhythm. Her english songs were simpler, less complex in both rhythm and singing. Her spanish songs had just enough variations in the way they played and were sung to keep them melodic but also add pleasing complexity.
Same thing with C&T, their songs are light music, but they are complex enough to make me like them.

God, that was terrible.

It's worse that it looked like it was going to be some spontaneous performance, but then made a sudden cut and it continued as private practice at their home.
