I can't feel bad for a guy who killed Rengoku. Maybe if Rengoku comes when he's dying to personally forgive him then maybe.
akaza Cute
Too bad the Korean user is probably asleep.
I'm not TL user and I can't read nip to save my life, but
>That hand is reaching out unexpectedly...
And chapter is called Thank you, but that should be pretty obvious.
鬼滅156
猗窩座的頭在再生,炭很急衝上去但是手勁不足,沒握住刀,只好一拳頭打上去,讓猗窩座想起了他師傅,想起了他最想殺的是自己於是自殺
Chink spoilers
Interested in seeing how that plays out.
Shitty Google translate
> The head of the armpit was regenerating, the charcoal was very rushing but the hand was not strong enough. Without holding the knife, I had to hit it with a fist, and let the armpits think of his master. I remembered that he wanted to kill himself and committed suicide.
Does Akaza's name actually mean armpit? Otherwise it doesn't make sense.
>pink kimono
That's why Akaza has pink hair..
WANIIII
That's some shitty translation but I guess his head was about to regenerate but he remembered he was going to commit suicide and he killed himself after that, right?
Crypt locus, but google tends to mess up names sometimes, charles jiro is a good example
Sounds like Tomioka or Tanjirou punched him while his head was regenerating, which reminded him of his master and his desire to kill himself.
WANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Probably Tomioka since Tanjirou is KO’d.
Kind of sad if he’s still out though, and doesn’t get to see Akaza’s end.
I was wondering if his markings are just an extension of his arm tattoos, but I might be reaching.
Honestly the idea of either Tanjirou or Tomioka punching Akaza with their bare hands is really awesome.
But Tanjirou is literally KO'd and he can't just wake up that quick and punch Akaza. It has to be Tomioka.
I'm sick of Akaza already, just die.
Spoiler only mentions Tanjiro
So Akaza means “crypt locust”? What about the names of the other upper moons?
If you're gonna dump the gook scans here when they come out, make sure to keep the thread alive until I get back from class like 15 hours from now, since I'm going to bed. Then again, I don't know when the raws are going to drop with this weird schedule anyway
I was reading throught the chink comments on that spoiler thread and they are discussing about Akaza suicide than anything else.
Did Tanjirou eat some hermit seeds to move and punch some ass?
Fuck Akaza, I hope he and his bitch wife burn in hell.
Aye sir
fuck Rengoku
Why do so many anons like Rengoku? He was barely fleshed out and he only gave Tanjirou a little bit of advice before dyeing.
Fuck Rengoku and fuck Akaza
Because he was fucking cool and heroic?
He is pretty meh. I liked him but I like all the other pillars better now, except Wind.
Yes. He's fuckable
It was his death that made the impact. Knowing that a shonen can have consequences makes the whole thing more serious and worth paying attention too. Same thing with FMA, Hughes death really set the tone.
Anyone gonna dump the raws?
gook scan hasn't even been out?
what is the new site for the gook scans? the one I used got deleted
manamoa.net
this is for the previous chap btw
UGLY
STRAIGHT
AND GAY !!
AND HANDSOME
Well that was brutal
Also yeah, Tanjirou got a senzu bean apparently
He's kind and handsome.
Did he kill himself?
So Tanjirou only fainted for like 20 seconds?
Oh no, why does my eyes feel wet?
If it took this much reaching to beat Akaza I'm afraid of what Wani will pull for Douma or Kokushibou
But that's the beauty of the series.
How they all had their reasons, and the spiral of despair, and how to break out of it.
He did
I'm honestly not quite sure myself, I thought it was weird that the main trio felt so strongly for a guy they just met but hey
dump?
Depends on who fights who. Rock is the strongest and Wind is probably stronger than Giyu.
I think Akaza was trying to kill himself but the Muzan blood wouldn't let him (after his kamikaze attack he starts regenerating again), that's why he had a vision of Muzan grabbing his hair as if Muzan was saying "You ain't done yet, bitch"
He finally started to crumble away after his vision of his waifu
That was a kino ending. Next chapter must be the Tanjirou reading the letter from Aniki lil brother.
wew
I think he could still go on a murder spree since even after trying to kill himself he was still regenerating, but decided to go against it.
And who is that handsome man on bottom panel?
>smiling
Fuck
i haven't read the manga in a while, is inosuke relevant at all anymore?
He just got engaged with Nezuko
jesus christ Gotouge this is a magazine for children
Wasted
He's gonna learn a battle sense technique that surpasses that of UM3.
It's an handsome lad with his hair untied
OPT material
So Akaza doesn't even have a gimmick, he just can't die unless he wants to?
Somehow, an upper moon can self destroy it they break their Muzan bond?
He had the compass
Last page.
>gay on the last panel
Is that the kind of man Shinobu likes?
Not at the moment but his time will come
cute! and gay
>Didn't even beat UM3 through fighting
This gives me the feeling Douma and Kokushibou just aren't beatable without 5 pillars ganging up on one of them.
Now I'm picturing this scene with the god-tier ost from the anime.
Rock will btfo one of them before dying to Muzan
Demons somehow mutate depending on their feelings, that's how they develop their unique blood techniques and change their appearance. It's kind of subtle and subconscious. His extreme will to fight let him develop immunity to nichirin blades, it's also possible that he could kill himself. Tamayo managed to get rid of Muzan's curse, after all.
If you think it that way, Nezuko having a fire blood tech could be related to her father's dance, Gyuutarou poisonous blood to his disease ridden old self and Akaza's killing intent sensing compass to his grief at not being present when his loved ones died.
Wink potato spotted!!
Imagine having to hold that ugly gaylord in your arms. ew
Tanjrou and Tomioka won by default? So this means Akaza was literally impossible to kill despite of not having killing intent due to his wack regeneration technique? Going nuclear and killing himself was the only way for them to win.
>Akaza is literally unkillable
>Douma and Kokushibou are somehow even stronger
Kanaobros...
I give Rock far better odds against Muzan then Kokushibou or Douma. Muzan is almost confirmed weaker then Sundemon, and Douma is a far better thinker.
If Akaza can erase his beheading by katana weakness, does that mean Douma and Kokushibou are also at the same state as Muzan? Only killable by sunlight?
Douma said Shinobu could have killed him if she beheaded him but then again, he could have been making fun of her like usual
there's always the Nezuko blood hack but she's not around
>last boss is weaker than the underlings he created
It's so funny to see mouthbreathers underestimate Muzan.
The unstoppable murderbot might a trait of Akaza only though.
I'll give him credit when he earns it, but so far he's been reliant on proxies and bouts of panic to survive. Also has PTSD so bad it managed to cost his minions fights.
Damn. That's sad
Muzan is going to be so butthurt after this arc
The kind of man she likes is none, she's fuckin' dead
Reminder he tore off the head of a lower moon and Gyokko without them being able to react.
It might be. I know a lot of people said he looks like Hitoshura and Kaneko said that his design was inspired by shamans.
Fuck, I'm tearing up because of Akaza, what is this mango
I wonder what state Tanjirou and Giyuu are in now
They must be confused as hell
He killed a lot of people and was a thief on top of that. He was a bad person. Killing everyone in that school beside his meant he had to have slaughtered many more innocents than the one he lost personally.
Muzan working hard on the head pats.
Probably. I don’t think Tanjirou can see demon flashbacks like we can
He can smell sorrow and such
the lower moons were jobbers
He love his kid so much
blood hack?
Fire that burn only demons and their abilities.
I think we were supposed to spend more time with Rengoku than we wound up spending. My guess is that originally the lower moons were intended as fodder, and they were going to pal around with Rengoku and hunt a couple, but instead Wani's editor made her kill most of them off, which was probably a good decision.
I don't think that's it. He was more properly introduced and shown to be cool BECAUSE he was to be killed off immediately, and more importantly, without any warning. It's making good on the premise: that most demon hunters die suddenly in battle, even pillars.
yeah this
he did enough to leave his mark on the main trio
he helped Tanjirou and crew grow up emotionally and turned him toward the fire breath which suits him better than water
Kino.
So is Tanjirou fine now? He should definitely be out of comission
No way a WSJ editor would ever tell an author to speed a story up unless it was about to be cancelled
>He should definitely be out of comission
Red light arc flashbacks.
I mean, its fine that he gets a quick burst of energy for the last second of the fight by pushing himself, but he should definitely not be able to do anything else for the rest of the arc
gyokko isn’t
he not dead
oh he dabbin
upside down dab
He shouldn't, but I expect him to, because that's just how these things go
>sword is broken
>but he isn't out of commission yet
Is Tomioka going to stand around awkwardly for the rest of the arc?
Handsome and tall
yeah
He can't even hold his sword, no way he's fine
nice
damn, how long was that fight
Is it just me or have we been getting chapters a lot earlier than usual since the anime aired.
Last week we chink scans before BCfags had spoilers.
Are we relevant now?
Fight with the broken sword like he has done
Kimetsu has been relevant for a while, but the readers don't sperg about it.
This week jump overall are early release because it's before Golden Week.
Last week was barely a chink spoiler before the gook scan, and this week so called chink is only >armpit
Also, niggastream released OP and bnha chapters before we got anything iirc.
We're still at the pretty slow side.
Both are wasted and I don't know how the fuck they will go after Muzan or fight other minor demons. I hope they find Tamayo's assistant to help them.
And i prefer to keep it that way. There's no need to bring more attention; we already have the anime for that.
>can't hold a sword
>punches the enemy instead.
Based potatoes
Fuck I'm so sleepy, my English was wack
I finally read Kagarigari.
Proto-Muzan looks stupid as hecc.
Has no one translated it yet?
Compass and absurd regeneration.
No, no one's touched it, the only one who does stuff for the series is TLanon and he has enough work to do as it is.
Amazing, source?
Akaza cute
twitter.com
Same as btw.
anywhere I can read this?
burn it
UGLY and GAY
Cute.
come on giyuu
did nothing wrong
Why is he so pokeable.
There should be a zip on his back, and if you open it you find a smol shinobu inside
At Jump's archive or
file.io
that I ripped myself.
thanks user
He's a motherfucker even in plushies
I want to punch him.
I feel bad for his human part, not the demon he became
There's a bug on your back, mate.
Douma can you squash it for us
cute nezuko
Always liked how her haori also looks like butterfly wings
Is there one for Tanjirou?
there's two variants
when i asked amiami they said just the color was different
Is that supposed to look more like a sepia tone photo because of the era?
Huh, kinda like it.
i guess so. i ended up preordering both anyway
Did he just kill himself?
Demons can't actively do anything to him. He can kill them from a distance just by willing it. Remember the fake lower moon girl with the ball power that auto-died just because he sensed that she had spoke his name?
Yeah, more or less.
she is also being drugged to stop being a demon, so no more demon fire
he looks like he's straight out of a sewer
so, we know that you need Muzan blood to make a human into Demon, and we have factual evidence that UM 1 and UM 2 have enough blood to do so, and maybe even UM 3. then among those 4, who you think is the one that killed Tanjiro Family?
Obviously UM1
either muzan or 1 I would say. 2 already has his cult and i don't think he would leave anyone uneaten. it seems a bit weird that muzan would directly seek out a random family, maybe he did it because of the earrings but tanjirou wasn't even at home, plus he was very surprised later when he saw the earrings. It could have been UM 1 seeking out other possible sun breath users, although tanjirou seemed to specifically look for Muzan's scent. But that could have just been an early manga thing, I don't think croc had originally planned out the moons and pinned the deaths on Muzan, but she could easily change that.
Douma was UM6 when he converted Daki and Gyuutarou, also I'm not sure, but wasn't Yushirou converted by Tamayo, and Rui's "family" converted by him also?
Douma doesn't look like he would go out of his way to kill some country bumpkins in their home
>Rui's "family" converted by him also?
didn't it say he "gathered" them with Muzan's permission? Sounds more like Muzan allowed him to have some followers around him, maybe since they all had spider-related powers.
And he wouldn't leave a pretty young girl uneaten.
Man, imagine if Sabito had survived
He would job.
Would Shinobu fall in love with him instead?
He is not fun to bully, so no.
>tfw no Shinobu/Tomioka and Kanae/Sabito double dates.
Rui somehow shared some of his spider powers with already existing demons to make his family.
While I'm annoyed Akaza didn't get a kill in first to actually be realistic and drive home the complexity of this story's themes, this was a pretty badass way to go.
I was hoping for explosions and got it
Sabito is for Mamoko.
Realistically one of them should have died, but we got some good action and I think we got a good idea of just how powerful UM3 was, and how hard it was to take him down. It's okay for the protagonists to win as long as it feels like they struggled.
Alright, skipped class today, here we go
>Chapter 156: Thank You
>Even if I die, I won't be able to go to the same place as those three
>Even though I remembered
>That past
>Humans are,
>Weak
>They're all
>Weaklings
>They die quickly
>Break down
>And disappear
>I passed out! In the middle of battle...!
>His head! His head is regenerating!
>Whaaa, I cut his neck!
My only problem is it feels a bit cheesy to rehabilitate him this way as if they have no reason to hate him. Sure he killed Rengoku in the past, but people have completely forgotten about that already. If he finished off Tomioka before turning on himself, it would drive home more the duality of the demons and why everyone has trouble sympathizing with them. I want to see Tanjiro's moral stance actually tested and how he'd react. But hopefully we'll get that when he faces the demon who killed his family.
This is one of his tech names
>Stop it!
>This guy...! So he can still move
>I'll cut your neck as many times as it takes!
>I'll beat you, together with Giyuu-san,
>Akaza!
>The sword! I dropped it!
>My grip... My hands don't have any strength!
>Gwaaa!
>Change, boy
>I don't like weak people
>Weak people
>They won't fight fairly,
>They'll poison a well,
>Disgraceful,
>Those weak people
>I'm impatient,
>And become desperate easily
>I killed people with these "protecting fists"
>I stained my master's precious Soryuu with blood,
>And I couldn't uphold my father's will
>Yeah, I wanted to die
>This is bad. This is bad. This is bad!
>I lost my sword
>I can't stop his attack with just my fists!
>Akaza is using the final move he used to on Rengoku-san!
>I have to get Giyuu-san out of the range of the attack...!
>Don't worry about me...
koreanon's grades died for our sins
>On himself...
>Why did he attack himself?
>(Gasping)
>Why the hell...
>For a moment,
>I could smell gratitude from Akaza
>Why were you smiling?
>(Regenerating noises)
>That's enough
>Stop it, don't regenerate
>Victory and defeat were decided
>I lost
>In that moment I was completely defeated
>It was fair and square,
>A splendid attack
>He could read his enemy's movements perfectly and rotate just in the nick of time,
>Cutting off his enemy's attack prematurely
>It's over
>I want to keep it fair,
>And go to hell
>Where
>Is he trying to go
>Ah...
>He stopped walking...
The hero we needed.
>Father...
>Are you okay now? You're not in pain?
>I'm alright. Hakuji
>Thank you...
>I'm sorry, father
>I couldn't live properly...
>It doesn't matter
>No matter what form they take,
>Your son is your son, and your disciple is your disciple
>Even death won't change that
>Even though
>I can't take you to heaven
>Master...
>Didn't you want to be strong?
>Is this where you end?
>Akaza
>Yeah, I became strong
>I want to be strong
>What does it matter if my neck is cut?
>A match? It doesn't matter. I'll kill you all
>I can still get stronger
>I have to keep my promise
I feel bad for the man Akaza once was. The demon Akaza is now deserves to die.
>koreanon sacrificed his grades like Hakuji sacrificed his life.
>Thank you, Hakuji-san
>It's enough now
>It's enough
>It's enough
>Akaza!
>I'm sorry
>I'm sorry
>I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you
>I'm sorry that I couldn't be around at such a critical moment
>The promise
>I couldn't do anything to keep it...!
>Please forgive me. Please forgive me. Please
>Please forgive me...!
>I'm so glad you remembered us
>I'm glad you turned back into the original Hakuji-san...
>Come on
>Darling...
>Ah...
And that's all for this week, my friends. Enjoy having no chapter for golden week
Is that Murata? So this means he joined the demon corps around the same time as Giyuu.
>My hands don't have any strength!
I guess that means he's out for the rest of this then
He may have only fought fodder, but it is at least a bit impressive that he survived so many years
>I want to see Tanjiro's moral stance actually tested
How so? Tanjirou hates Akaza and wants to kill him. Akaza killing Tomioka or not wouldn't change it.
The demons aren't really rehabilitated. Kimetsu is rare among shonen in that, while it portrays the demons sympathetically, it never tries to absolve them of their sins. If you kill innocent people, you deserve to die no matter how sad your backstory is. Tanjiro is quite clear about this.
>to rehabilitate him
he's literally going to hell
At least his wife is keeping him company
Hypothetically speaking, if the manga continues after Muzan eventually dies, how can they continue it?
Chinese demons. Or anywhere else demons. But rather than continue after Muzan, that should be left for a sequel or spinoff or something
Douma kills Muzan and funds a new demon organization using his cult as base
Turn Nezuko into the new villain
I agree, that's what makes the series interesting and pretty rare among Jump manga. But what sets it apart even further is Tanjiro himself, he still feels the pain of the demons as they die when no one else does. So he kills them but still feels death is enough to pay for their crimes and they shouldn't be hated after they are gone.
It would change Tanjiro's reaction. I want to see him tested with a demon where he wants to spit on their grave and has to decide if he really believes his moral stance that he tries to hold everyone else up to. I like his purity but it doesn't mean I don't want to see him struggle.
The chapter made it look like they're in heaven, so he will be alone.
We reached levels of Kino that shouldn't be possible, where do we go from here?
Muzan's human daughter is revealed to be a half demon and vows revenge against Tanjirou.
That was just his master that said he can't take him to heaven. If Rui's parents stayed behind to go to hell with him, Hakuji's wife will do the same
This. Villain "redemption" in Kimetsu stops at letting the demons (not all of them) regain their humanities on the verge of death. The first lesson Tanjirou was taught is if Nezuko kills people, he has to kill her.
Muzan seems not to be the final boss while UM 1 is moving around.
Thanks, friend. This chapter was amazing.
Is that really his daughter? Did he breed with humans?
New demons from not Muzan.
But Tanjiro's story should end after Nezuko turns into human, it's a fitting end.
If they want to continue, it should be new MC and new setting.. Unironically, Boruto it up.
I always thought Muzan just changed their memories or something.
We don't know for sure yet. All we know is that Muzan has a human wife and a "human" daughter.
>I want to see him tested with a demon where he wants to spit on their grave
While not to the degree of wanting to spit on their graves, Tanjirou did despise Hantengu very much. He also lost his shit with the dream demon who toyed with the memory of his family.
I think the true moral test for Tanjirou is if Nezuko eats someone, but it will be too dark for Shounen Jump.
>Even though
>I can’t take you to heaven
Damn, so he is still getting his just desserts.
Thanks user always appreciate it. I think this was a good ending for Akaza, shows how deep Muzan’s manipulation is. It also makes me worry, how are the other upper moons going to be defeated if the nichirin swords don’t work.
soul
Thanks for the TL
The priest was the one who turned Muzan into the demon, and knew about the red spider lily. Even though we know he’s dead, he had to have learned it from somewhere.
Perhaps the priest created more demons besides Muzan.
Isn't it blue spider lily?
I would 100% still read it if it just turned into a SoL.
I'm inclined to think so, how would he even know to try this shit if he never used it before
To be honest, I do have to agree that Jump just isn't going to let the series push its themes to their natural conclusion as I would also like to see the Nezuko scenario play out but I think if it wasn't in Jump, Tanjiro would probably be written way edgier which would also be less interesting. Honestly, I would settle for a comment from Wani at the end of the manga on whether or not Nezuko and Tanjiro would follow through on their murder/suicide if she killed someone. I think it's obvious Tomioka and Urokodaki would slit their bellies but I'm not sure Tanjiro would be able to kill Nezuko. I feel he might just kill himself and leave her for someone else. I guess we sort of got to see that scenario play out with the matagi girl in the Tomioka Gaiden but it pulled its punches for a happy end.
>I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Rui's parents probably went to hell for trying to kill their child.
great, thank you user
>I can't take you to heaven
I know he doesn't deserve it but ;_;
Muzan is a man made demon. I think there's actually demons out there, maybe a demon told his (muzan) nurse the way to make demons for whatever reason
We've already seen the blue spider lily in the Kamado memories. But maybe that's an abandoned plot point and it will never come up again.
Yet they were allowed to wait around for said child? This shit doesn't make any sense anyway, it's probably all just dying delusions. There's no afterlife you stupid humans
I would bet that a future arc will involve the demon hunters searching for the blue spider lily as a potential weapon against Muzan.
Said child was a murderer at the time which may be a mitigating circumstance
manga looks terrible. what a shitty artist.
Shut up Douma. You'll be burning in Hell soon enough.
Since it’s never really clarified outside of ‘Taisho Era’, they could do a WW1 arc where a demon cult is pulling the strings behind it all.
It's clearly that Tanjirou is out of commission for the upcoming fights. I think this will be split in two arcs.
Japan wasn't in the WW1 tho.
The time period is either just before World War I or the war has already started in Europe. Japan had basically nothing to do with World War I though and what little they did do was naval.
>ugly censor is tingling.
Thanks TL user. Your sacrifice will be remembered.
This chapter made me feel some sad things...Akaza could have regenerated, he could have killed Tanjirou and Giyuu easily, he knew hell was waiting for him not heaven and yet he still choose to die.
Maybe a stupid question, but will the anime still air in Golden Week?
Yes it will air normally
>This chapter made me feel some sad things...Akaza could have regenerated, he could have killed Tanjirou and Giyuu easily, he knew hell was waiting for him not heaven and yet he still choose to die.
I liked that this happened in a non-contrived way. It wasn't just because of Tanjiro's power of friendship or whatever, but that stuff Tanjiro said and did reminded Akaza of the life he'd lost. Even the punch he god reminded Akaza of fighting in the dojo with his teacher, you know? Lots of little details.
>Boruto
I'd rather it to be JoJo.
This shit is almost JoJo with swords already, so yeah
There isn't exactly a gate to hell here, they could already have been in there and just came to welcome him.
The main reason Akaza regained his memory was because he was legit on the verge of death, which has happened before with other demons.
Didn't the author said somewhere that she's a Jojo fan?
There are religious setting in this manga you know, and heaven/hell has been mentioned here several times
I know, but it was the punch that helped convince him, reread this chapter
damn, now i got tears in my eyes. F
Yeah, one of the manga volume extras I think. Croc likes Susumu Hirasawa too
We've seen how Muzan favors demons-he picks one's that remind him of himself & show results. The red light district kids were favored because they killed a lot of humans + past pillars. The spider kid was favored because he had drive (killed lots of demon corps red shirt kids) and Muzan saw his sickness as a reflection of his own affliction before turning--assuming it'd be the same recipe needed to make a ruthless pawn that controlled others.
Douma was promoted to upper moon 2 before Akaza, because Douma was pretty poisonous while alive (thinking all his actions were kindness), lived a similar upper crust life as Muzan did while human, & recruited the red light sibs.
Most of the demons Muzan had negative opinion, most of whom he threatened & killed, they're all demons who were nobodies while alive. They don't have titles or status, we don't see much detail in their lives beyond a fleeting wish/memory/ or thought. They're people forgotten by history, just like Akaza, and he only got so far as a demon because he was physically strong.
But he was never the same kind of person as they were- he never belonged to the class that profits off of taking advantage of the disadvantaged. Even when he tried to be as an uppermoon demon, it never really worked, because he didn't think the same way they did.
After all, he kept on trying to recruit Renkogu when we first met his character. Akaza basically picked someone who'd had the least chances of ever turning (someone who still has reason to live, cares for humanity, hadn't been made a victim by society, doesn't care for status or power *& also comes from a dojo background like him *). He picked a mirror version of himself, but couldn't recognize that Rengoku had lived a life without the worst of what caused him to turn.
That's what makes Akaza's backstory so hard to read to me, he is essentially a differently tragic version of Rengoku/tanjirou. In a similar way that the uppermoon 6 demons were a foil of tanjirou and Nezuko.
I think most eastern heaven/hell ideologies in manga are Buddhism related
You know I would have thought the croc was a fan of FMA. You know with main protags being siblings and having to defeat an ancient evil.
Japan wasn’t entirely involved in the war, but the Demon Slayer corps isn’t recognized by the Japanese government. Granted this probably won’t even happen I’m just going along with user and putting out some ideas.
They are and this one definitely is considering all the explicit Buddhist references throughout the manga. It's just one of those translation things where translators are used to coddling Burgers. It's a perfect example of inferring the meaning with a localization rather than being literal. They should just be translated as Jigoku and Tengoku or Sky Country and Earth Prison. Nobody calls Hades "Hell" or Valhalla "Heaven".
You'd think with enough popular manga (especially from Jump) that clearly use the the Japanese afterlife that people would recognize it's a thing.
>>They won't fight fairly,
>>They'll poison a well,
>>Disgraceful,
>>Those weak people
I can't believe it took me this long and Akaza literally spelling it out to me, for me to understand why he hated weak people so much.
MHA ripoff?
F-fuck
Doesn't matter what you faggots say, my headcanon is that Hakuji-san went to heaven.
I don't care about your arguments.
Since this is Buddhist hell, he only has to go there temporarily
Is anyone watching this? I've seen almost no threads for this show at all the last week ro so.
We have threads for the anime in the airing day.
I don't feel bad for him. I pity him since he had a chance to do better in spite of his background, and all it took was one bad day to take it all away. But he became a monster so he needed to die. At least he found peace in the end, but like this series impressed multiple times on the reader, you can't take back the lives he ended.
>I can't believe it took me this long and Akaza literally spelling it out to me, for me to understand why he hated weak people so much.
It was only revealed a week ago.
There's literally constant threads but threads for manga and anime are different because animeonlies don't want to get spoilers. Kimetsu is lucky in that way because the manga threads are always about actively dumping and talking about the newest chapter.
Oh there are threads! But anime only's are insufferable. Usually just shitposters are r/memeEconomy fags looking for stale memes to force. Usually one thread a week so we don't have to deal with them as much.
So I'm guessing Muzan gave Akaza his new name? Called him a crypt locus?
Maybe. Do we know the meaning of other demons' names?
Bros I can't stop listening to Sabito OST.
Daki - Fallen Princess
Gyuutaro - Pimp
Gyoko - Fish Pot
Hantengu - Half Crow
Douma - Child Grindstone
Kokoshibou - The Black Death
>muzan probably named all of them
what a chuuni
>Gyuutaro - Pimp
Yeah this was definitely Douma interjecting for his name
>Kokoshibou - The Black Death
That's pretty brutal
One thing I notice is that the few shitposting threads created tend to die quickly.
To be fair, If I can create a bunch of immortal underlings, I will call them chunni names too.
>Child Grindstone
He's been grinding people since childhood I guess
>The Black Death
Are you ready for Breath..of..the.. Moon?
Maybe I'm just stupid but what the fuck does "child grindstone" mean? The other ones make some sense to me but that one sounds like nonsense.
>Daki - Fallen Princess
At least it's a better name than "syphilis".
A grindstone is used to sharpen blades by grinding the edges against it. Just imagine doing that but with children and there you go
>he killed dozens of pillars
>he is a monster
>nothing can stand in his way
>he is... the Pimp
>The Black Death
Like the black plague?
Yes, it refers specifically to the disease
The OST is really good. I hear more Go Shiina than Yuki Kajiura. Is he the main composer?
Btw I really like this piece. Any guess in which scene will it be played?
twitter.com
Thank you, goddamn I'm tearing up.
no but this is
Ah, I get it now, thanks for explaining. It certainly suits him...
Maybe in the Drum House arc?
When Tamayo is talking about making a cure maybe?
My guess is the beginning of the final selection when Tanjirou sees the wisteria forest.
>Gyuutaro -
>P
>I
>M
>P
Wait seriously?
When Inosuke cums inside of Nezuko while Zenitsu watches
Well in the manga it said he was a debt collector for prostitute houses, right?
Not really. His name is just his former job description which is called Gyu and was the equivalent of a pimp. If you broke it down literally it's probably more like Female Entertainer's Husband. All those names are gotten arbitrarily through different methods. Some are literal translations of kanji, some are puns and some are just simplifications.
Yes, it's explained in chapter 86.
The threads aren’t that bad. I would say the only annoying thing is all the same fan art getting reposted and forced meme jokes
>The black death
Rock/Mist's Grim reaper.
Now that you mentioned it I can’t think of any translated series that used jigoku and tengoku even though they were obviously about Buddhism
Yeah, they even translate Jigoku Sensei Nube as Hell Teacher Nube which absolutely implies something totally different from what it actually is. It's a manga heavily revolving around Japanese folklore, Hell has nothing to do with it.
I can't wait to hear the other pillar's voices. Any guesses/desires for the seiyuu?
Hino Satoshi for Rengoku
Miyuki Sawashiro for Muichirou
Mamoru Miyano for flamboyant Boi
I totally see Mist being played by a woman. I feel like Kamiya is going to make an appearance eventually, what with the great cast.
trips of truth
Also hear this voice for him
Mamoru Miyano for Rengoku
KanaHana for Mitsuri
Saori Hayami for Shinobu
Saitou Souma for Tokitou
Yoshimasa Hosoya for Uzui
I believe in you, magical Aniplex money.
Who would play Snek?
Suwabe for Uzui
Yoko Hikasa for Kanrogi
Hayami Saori for Shinobu
Kana Hanazawa
Ono Kensho.
Kek.
But also a fitting voice
>has played at least two yandereish roles
It fits.
If they give snake an androgynous sounding voice it's basically confirmed Snake is a woman
Cursed image
This is great
Poor Genya.
I never asked for this.
Holy shit, the madman actually regenerated his head.
Based Akaza.
What was the overall purpose of the Swamp Demon fight story wise?
1st mission, that nezuko can hold her own ground so Tanjiro dont need to baby sit her 24/7
Has there ever been a reason given for why the moon demons don't die with their heads cut off? Should we just assume that it's because they've got more of muzan's blood?
The manga was trying not to get cancelled, it was showing us what a regular mission was like. Even though they all go on regular missions all the time, that was like the only one we ever saw. If the manga had been more popular from the start or this wasn't Wani's first serial it probably would have played out differently. But Muzan got introduced and things had to rapidly accelerate from there. It's a shame in retrospect since we'll never really get to see the natural progression of most of the characters.
I think Wani (and we) were lucky they didn't cancel the manga in the first 30 chapters. I still enjoy them, but in retrospect the early part was shaky as hell.
The explanation for why some magic metal kills them seems like far more of a plothole. Even the weakest demons don't die from being beheaded and getting their limbs chopped off by a magic blade doesn't prevent regeneration so why the neck is so special seems like an unjustified weak point.
It's just the rule of that world. You're not supposed to think hard about it. It's just like silver bullet can kill werewolf, or how a stake in the heart can kill vampires.
yeah, feels bad that the manga had to be rather rushed. i would have liked some more trio missions between LM6 and LM1, and LM1 and UM6.
i'm guessing nichirin ore is infused with some kinda sun power. as for why the neck, it could just be that that's the main connection between brain/heart/soul. and a thin, easy weak point compared to trying to slice open a torso
I'm saying that the neck doesn't make sense as a weakness if demons can survive as just a head (which we know they can from the very first demon in the series). It means what's killing them is the ore, not the decapitation. But if the ore is killing them because it poisons them, then it should kill them anywhere. And if it's killing them because it prevents regeneration then it would also keep limbs from growing back which it doesn't. If strong demons can survive having their heads chopped off by the ore, then it's clear that the ore should have no effect whatsoever and Upper Moons should be unkillable.
KnY has already 5 million copies sold
The sun doesn't stop regeneration so much as it just kills them. The ore is the same, the nichi in nichirin is from sun
it has to be a combination of the ore + neck chop. UMs only 'survive' because they have a gimmick, like gyuutarou and daki had to be killed simultaneously but they still died when their heads were chopped. hantengu had a true form that died when its head was chopped. kaigaku died in one chop. akaza's head disintegrated with a chop, but his will was so strong that his body moved on autopilot. if i had to guess, i would say douma probably also has some kind of gimmick. but i think kokushibou would die with a direct head chop, his gimmick would be that it's just really fucking hard to do it.
as for why decapitation, my guess is that it's a mind/heart connection. just a regular blade would do nothing. but the sun-infused blade might 'burn' the connection between the two and kill the demon.
Source?
>***,244 (▼***,226) Kimetsu no Yaiba
Saw this on the sales thread. I have no ideas what those numbers mean, but apparently Kimetsu is doing well?
I'm kinda glad this chapter doesn't end on a cliffhanger, because we'll have to wait for 2 weeks to read the next one.
It's weird to see shonen in that list, normally they flop or they never are in top 5. Surprisingly, it's doing very well.
The oricon sales report
>It's weird to see shonen in that list, normally they flop or they never are in top 5
As a manga guy, this is surprising to me. I thought battle shounen series had broad appeals? Does it not apply to anime?
I don't follow sales much, but my assumption is that the kind of people that buy BDs and the kind of people that watch shonen don't really overlap much. Casuals probably don't buy BDs
the BD includes various goodies like Kajiura OST for the series so I hope it'll sell well.
I hope we get this pic in hq
Just hope someone buys BD from these stores and scan them.
I have pre-ordered Vol 1 from Rakuten, but this website's exclusive bonus gift is 2 postcards for each vol, not these pictures. When I receive 1st vol and if no one has posted anything here, I will try to scan them (Postcards, characters design,...) and upload here.
Took me a few tries.
I was trying to get Tomioka last week but it kept giving me dark-haired swordsmen with ponytails. I was surprised there were so many.
I've been holding myself and I have to ask. Full scan and translation of this fucking when?
Damn, it never occurred to me about scanning these. Have these been scanned yet?
Anime is more expensive than manga, and if the anime is aimed at kids, has endless episodes and poor production values (what usually happens to battle shounen anime) it'll probably sell even less BDs/DVDs. Battle shounen anime has a broader appeal but you also have to consider things like air time, number of episodes, animation studio/staff, voice actors etc. That's why only a handful of Jump anime series managed to sell well despite having great manga sales until now.
Never unless someone buy and scan the magazine.
Makes sense. So that means the nips are having very positive reception toward Kimetsu.
That either has to be volumes printed or 1 million of those are digital.
I feel like the dark one is official art but I've only seen the latter one with the word sample stamped over it.
Link? Do they ship internationally? I live in the US.
Is that the power of fujoshi?
Why can't this series just let me hate the villains in peace ;_;
remember to SET YOUR HEART ABLAZE
you mean PRAY FROM THE EDGE OF DARKNESS
>smiling potatoes in the dojo
fuuuck
fuuuuuuuuuuuuck
has there been a muzan potato yet?
god
>All those moments will be lost in time
>manga depicts both demons and protagonists having flashbacks on the verge of death
honestly cool
Now, that blade of yours
To where will you strike it down?
>the black death
>tanjirou's father was killed by sickness
I fucking love the ED even more than the OP, FictionJunction is my shit
Same. I think the OP is a bit bland, but the ED has a nice ring to it. That last line actually gives me bumps. Can't wait for the full version.
>The OST is really good. I hear more Go Shiina than Yuki Kajiura. Is he the main composer?
Yep. They confirmed Go Shiina composed most of the music, and Kajiura only a handful.
They held a concert together last year, so I'm guessing he invited her to compose a few tracks.
That maybe for the best. I like Kajiura, but I think her style doesn't really fit with Kimetsu's traditional Japan setting.
I dunno, the stuff we've heard so far seems pretty fitting. Her Hokuto no Ken stuff also has some some Asian flavor, so I think she could work it out.
The music from the first PV is too bombastic in my opinion, but it looks like they toned it down in the anime.
I think only Amazon Japan can ship goods internationally. In my case, I have a friend that lives in Japan so she can buy those discs from other websites and send them to me later.
If you buy from Amazon Japan (All first 6 BDs), exclusive bonus gifts are a book cover and a B2 canvas poster. Moreover, any customer that buys all first 6 Blu-ray discs will get a disc storage box.
I feel like I'm getting closer
rude
Caught up. I didn't actually expect the series to be in it's final stretch at 150ish chapters. Unless we're somehow getting another set of villains involved with that mysterious flower. I mean don't get me wrong, 200 chapters is a pretty damn good round off point for most series, but there's a lot of characters I still want to see more antics with.
>I didn't actually expect the series to be in it's final stretch at 150ish chapters
Because it's not.
I mean it's facing a final boss and his direct underlings. That's definitely an impression of final fight. I mean if there's more to it then great, but I don't think it's hinted at anything that much bigger.
The main character is out of commission and his sister is not involved. If two pillars combined can't defeat Upper Moon 3 then there's not way they can touch UM 1+2, let alone Muzan himself. I fully expect Kokushibou to one shot the pillars here.
People, we just took out the first recurring boss, the final boss and even his second haven't even had a fight yet, this is not endgame. This is act two finale
Looks good
what the fuck
can you link it ?
Nah I just did it now and it took me a second try, but after that he got it every time. While I was at it, I added an ugly and gay question to identify him better
Just wanted to share a translation of KimetsuRadio (because it was so funny to me ), with Hanae Natsuki (Tanjiro) and Shimono Hiro (Zenitsu). Hanae shared the story about how he was BLOCKED on Twitter by SOMEONE IMPORTANT in the Kimetsu no Yaiba world
should have been Tomioka's VA desu
>my favorite voice actor of all time is voicing zenitsu
>i had imagined this guy voicing him as I read the manga
Based Hiro Shimono, always voicing the best boy.
Pre-orders are already up huh
I don't get it
Wind is a ragetard, Snake is a a jerk, Tapioca is Tapioca. Now imagine the 3 most unfriendly pillars suddenly become friendly and buddies with each other.
Sakurai doesn't have Twitter heh
beautiful
Someone should make a version of this using known and loved potatoes.
Is kimetsu no yaiba shonen in the same sense that inuyasha is shonen?
no its just straight shounen
Tried to get Douma but couldn't, he was close some times though.
I guess I'll never get him then because he is HANDSOME and STRAIGHT.
>forced meme jokes
>fan art reposted
Excuse me but there are a bunch of new ones
The anime has a pretty good production value so far. Do we have any idea at which arc they'll stop?
Most likely before train arc (chapter 52ish) if they keep up this pacing
The similarities are a bit vague aside from both having female mangaka and demons.
I'm guessing the anime will end just as Tanjirou see the pillars and we'll never get a season 2.
There was a decent streak of someone reposting the same art in every thread. If a lot is getting produced now is the time to make threads on /c/ and /cm/ instead of using them as an excuse to drag out discussion threads.
No, the pacing is not THAT slow
you'll get a S2 by studio deen
It will end after Aniki death, Hanae has mentioned several times
source
where? How can he mention it without spoiling?
That's how I said it, he talked about Rengoku and how he influences Tanjirou during his journey. He didn't say explicitly like that.
In this one and in the Margaret magazine.
I also want the anime to end at the Train arc but Natsuki Hanae never mentioned it, he mentioned in an interview he liked Rengoku and about his importance for the plot but he never said anything about where the anime will end.
Tomioka is so handsome, wish I was as cool as he is!
The anime ending at the train arc is very likely. The first 5 eps adapt 9 chapters. If they cover 3 chapters with each episode beginning from chapter 6, they can adapt up to chapter 72. Rengoku dies in chapter 66, so they have a bit of breathing room to cover the train arc.
So how many of you picked up the manga after watching the anime? These threads didn't have this many IPs before.
im animeonly because I dislike the manga art but I dont care about being spoiled
Based animeonly
S1 should stop at the end of the recovery training arc, and adapt some of the beginning of Train. Then do entirety of Train, Red Light, and some of the beginning of Swordsmith for S2 if they can.
I want Shinobu back bros...
That would be very anti-climatic. Why not adapt the whole Train arc in the same season? Making the S1 end with Rengoku's death would be amazing.
I did and I love the manga now. I might actually like it a little bit more because so far I feel like it can express the gags better. It's too soon to tell though because the story starts to get good when Tanjirou meets his buddies.
>disliking manga art
You're missing out dude. And won't being spoiled affect your enjoyment of the anime? You'll lose the emotional impact for sure.
Make the show end at chapter 57
I get spoiled on most things I read or watch but the emotional impact is always there for me even if I know exactly how things go down. I did try reading it and got up to a little bit after Tanjirou first encountered Muzan and then dropped it. I might try and pick it back up but I'd do that after the first season is finished airing.
The anime is gonna be expanding stuff along with including manga content. Don’t think they’ll adapt 3 chapters per ep for everything else
I picked up the manga after hearing about the anime and deciding not to watch.
I read the whole thing after watching episode 1. took my time off, I'm no speedreader.
We'll see. It's kinda hard for ufotable to do the gags because their art is so clean, unlike the relatively rough potato art in the manga. If they tries too hard, it might come off as jarring. I know some people already feel annoyed because of the comedic bits so far. They must have expected a dark and gritty show through and through. What they don't know is that Kimetsu is dark, bloody (battles to the death, decapitation, mutilated bodies, prostitute and pimp) but still has moment of respites where everyone can laugh along with all these lovable idiots. It's the charm of the manga.
Tomioka should use heaven's door to understand and deal with people (catch my reference)
5 ep = 9 chapters (chapter 1 was 50+ page long)
10= 20 chapters
15 = 30
20 = 40
26 = 52
I started reading it when the anime was announced
Yeah, I get why it's impossible for the anime to depict the sketchy potato faces perfectly. I definitely am enjoying the anime for what it is. It's really good. It's just the manga is perfect at combining the best of both worlds.
Who could possibly be behind these posts?!
What chapter is this from? I've been trying to find the one where he and Wind spar with each other but I can't find it.

It was a fun chapter
>commenters keep shitting on Kaji while ignoring him at the same time
Is he Tomioka IRL?
They do it specially because they're friends.
you're still fucking at it?
Thank you
Yes it was. I really want to try ohagi someday.
>comparing him with Kaji shit.
That's the worst Tomioka insult I have read. You are a real bully.
Does anyone know what Tanjiro is dressed as on the Jump cover?
Come on, he's probably a nice guy. It's not his fault he has no range.
Don't forget he auditioned for Tanjirous role
Why is he making that face?
he has the big gay
If there is any Tomioka IRL, it should be the dude voicing Inosuke. I only need to look at him once to know he has autism.
Isn't Matsuoka known for having social anxiety?
rude
Yes.
>If a lot is getting produced now is the time to make threads on /c/ and /cm/ instead of using them as an excuse to drag out discussion threads.
But then we won't have anywhere to post Tomioka art
Is the training arc supposed to be the worst part? Like I am thankful it just lasted one episode then lasting several before anything really happens. Still it is kind of jarring how much time is skipped. Is Nezuko being fed or given anything to drink at all during that time?
This isn't Naruto or Bleach or One Piece, he's not a god from the start. The timeskip was necessary to make him relevant but nobody wants to see that shit (even at the end of the timeskip he is still younger than most shonen protagonists). However, timeskips are common in the series between arcs. They are usually just a few months though. Demons don't eat or drink human food, so no she hasn't had anything because that would mean she was eating humans. She's in a coma.
>Is the training arc supposed to be the worst part?
I would say it gets better after this. The anime made it feel kind of black clover-esque, while things are about to get more serious. The series rushes through that part to get to everything after, and because there wasn't a lot that could be done with it. Next episode should give a sense of what the action in the series is actually like.
>Is Nezuko being fed or given anything to drink at all during that time?
Nope, she's just sleeping
Jump cover illustration
So she won't die of starvation due to lack of human flesh?
It looks like his head was edited onto the body.
You eat humans to get stronger, I don't think you need to eat them to stay alive. Demons are essentially immortal after all.
No where in the series it's stated that demons need to eat human flesh to survive. In fact, they are immortal creatures that don't need to eat or drink at all. They just have an uncontrollable urge to eat human, just like how addicts crave for drugs. It's also believed that demons get stronger the more human they eat.
It basically gets said demons will die if they don't eat people, right now in the story it's unclear if she'll stay alive, which is what Tanjirou was worrying about in that one scene
obviously not a big surprise to say she doesn't die
I'm sure there is a weird aspect to those drawings because most of it is covered up on the actual cover and you just want to show the cool part (which in this case was his head and sword)
>It basically gets said demons will die if they don't eat people,
That's not my impression. They all talk the urge, the desire, rather than the need,
Viz already uploaded the chapter, I guess we will have the chapter by Yea Forums sooner than expected
>things are about to get more serious
Beginning from next episode, Tanjirou will be put in life or death, killed or be killed situations regularly. That's kinda early for a shounen.
Still depends on whether TL user are not stuck in his misadventure, and TS user is free from exam hell yet.
The first chapter says without eating they'd be in a "starving condition", I took that to basically mean without eating they'd die, also what the conversation in chapter 15 seems to imply. Obviously Nezuko is an unusual case.
I think Tamayo mentions demons need only a small amount of blood to survive and the urge to eat flesh is something to do with Muzan's influence. She also mentions that Nezuko's condition is very unusual and probably result of her 2 years sleep.
Also I just realized Yushiro is the one scouting Muzan's fortress for Kiriya.
Cute.
She says she and yushiro only need a small amount of blood, which makes them different from other demons
I think the implication is if you imprisoned a demon for years without eating they'd go crazy and get weak but I really don't think they'd die. Demons get criticized for not eating more, if eating was how they survived, this wouldn't be an issue.
It would be wrong to say this show is the best animated one of the season?
You're not wrong
It has great production values.
