SSSS.GRIDMAN

I just watched this. Can we talk about how much it blows Darling in the Franxx out of the water.

We could, but it would be really redundant.
Instead we could argue that Amemiya produced a better Evangelion impression than Anno himself (or Tsurumaki for him) were able to do across the Rebuilds, despite starting from a silly tokusatsu show.

I wouldn't compare it to Evangelion but I get a nice " we are living in a simulation" feel from it. Also not a lot of waifushit drama.

Calibur best boy.

There is no reason to compare it to DitF, it is great regardless.

We could talk about Yuuta and his two girlfriends, Akane and Rikka.

>I wouldn't compare it to Evangelion
You should, the show is very explicit in regard of the directorial and thematic cues it took from it.

I didn't want to get into it but Akane wins hands down.

It's Anno-inspired but you have to consider that Anno was inspired by Ultraman, which Gridman was also inspired by. Episode 9, one of the best of the show, was specifically a homage to a very well-known and popular Ultraman director.

Hisomasoooooo

Yuuta

Imagine being so new and retarded you want to compare two shows that have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

>Anno was inspired by Ultraman
Yes, for the battles. And regarding those Gridman looks directly at tokusatsu.
But the drama part is heavily influenced by Evangelion, in sound design, pacing and layouts. And it capures its essence much more successfully than Rebuild.

>two shows that have absolutely nothing to do with each other

You're kidding, right? They both got inspired by Evangelion.

Imagine being so new and retarded you want to compare two shows that have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Fuck off you piece of garbage. This cheap yuribait shit is nowhere near as good as franxx.

Rikka's husband

Enokido and Amemiya would honestly make a good combo, especially if Enokido will keep Amemiya's yurishit tendencies at bay.

It was pretty decent throughout, but holy fuck if the last episode wasnt the hypest shit

Now that I think about it, everytime Enokido wrote (supposed) yuri, he had the girl with pink hair die/leave (however you interpret it)... like Akane in Gridman.

One of the few shows last year that I can say I truly looked forward to every week.
Made me remember how much I loved toku as a kid, and why. The last few fights were a blast.

Enokido is probably one of the main reasons Ikuhara didn't go full yuri in TV Utena.

shitman

Eh, I don't know about that.

I can't think of references to Star Driver and Redline.

I was so happy/relived Anti-kun got a good end.

Yeah, especially after Alexis poked his eye out with a pizza cutter

The last episode has so many kino moments.

Both pure garbage except waifu

Honestly i wish the whole anime was about characters like him and SSSS instead of boring ass schoolkids.

Then you could just watch any other Trigger show.
The SSSS worked as comic relief because they were basically the Devas from KLK but interacting with main characters who were grounded and realistic.

built to ride faces

I'm so angry that Tsuburaya scared away doujin artists.

Imagine being so up your own ass that you can’t see a point of comparison between two fucking shows in similar fucking genres by the same fucking studio released in the same fucking year.
I’ll let you get back to eating your own shit now, asshat.

Now with movies.

All except the hopeless degenerates that churn out all the NTR, gangbang, and prostitution doujins that make up the series’ fan catalogue.
Way to go you weird Nip Christians, purging all that disgusting vanilla romance from the Earth.

I think they're just out of touch, they just make tokusatsu and don't know about Comiket and shit. Trigger intervened to explain things, but it was too late.

Trigger Gridman would be fine if it was just a reboot of the original. I came away with a bad taste in my mouth from it outright ripping off other shows that I enjoyed. The only reason there wasn't more of an outcry about this is because Yea Forums is ignorant of/doesn't give a shit about mecha.

Attached: BEMG.jpg (2162x2047, 964K)

SSSS.Gridman is basically a carbon copy of all the old school sentai troops in one. It doesn't try to be anything new or anything different. It's a homeage to old school sentai.

Personally, I like Darling in the Franxx more for the most part.

Epic falseflag. The only reason there was an outcry at all were retards like you, Obari posted it in chinese exactly to avoid retarded twitter drama, and after clearing things out with Trigger even drew art for the show.

It was really good, my favourite anime of last year alongside Koi Ame.
