It's intended for intelligent people, OP. Of course you don't understand it. Try something more your speed, like Boku no Hero Academia or Boku no Pico.

was really rumi voice in the ending, tho?

Yes. Ending is happy ending. Satoshi Kon liked happy endings. Rest in piece.

how is that an happy ending? his interview in the bd is very weird. he didnt explain anything

What's not to get?

In order for her to increase fame, she needed to show her titties and pussy.

Of course she was unappreciated. She was standing next to a thicc cutie with a pixie cut.

Yeah, but was the fiction the reality and the reality the fiction?

everyday,
everyday this movie confuses an user

was all a dream of the drag queen from tokyo godfathers using the tech from paprika

The most confusing part is the Tadokoro bandages disappearance. Can't tell if that's an mistake or it has an higher meaning

It's completely intentional. Jesus Christ, you're dense.

Stick to anime intended for generation z. You obviously lack intelligence.

That's a shame. Please, don't fuck up the gene pool.

I used to think that the people who posts this shit was just straight up retarded, but after showing this exact movie to my irl friend all I saw was him looking at his phone every 20 seconds and then complaining he didn't understand the movie

In hindsight anything strange that happened during the film can be attributed to Mima's state of mind during the events of the film. Anything not too obvious is revealed at the end of the film to be the manager's doing and that's that.
Not much up for interpretation aside from the ending, the switch to Rumi's voice at the end can be argued to mean Mima became "real" by the end of the film.

From my experience club rape scene is where people get lost, which is understandable and speaks loudly of the people being involve in the making of the film, since the whole idea behind that scene was to confuse the audience. But if he was looking at his phone every 20 seconds If I were you I would have just offered to watch something else since that's a clear sign that he wasn't interested.

what does it mean?

>Rumi's voice at the end can be argued to mean Mima became "real" by the end of the film.

Personally I think the film's ending was just Rumi's psychosis being transfered to Mima during their final confrontation. The Rumi voice at the end points out that Mima is now obsessed with that idea of proving her life is real since she spent nearly the entire movie thinking someone else was living her life. Rumi devolved into her psychotic state by eventually believing that she was the real Mima and this affected actual Mima by transforming her desire to lead an individualistic life into that of paranoia; Mima isn't being an actress because she wants to anymore, she's being an actress to prove to herself that her life is her own and will probably continue to do things she believes "the real her" would do rather than do things out of pure passion or desire.

nice interpretation

By real Mima I meant Rumi's "real Mima" I should have elaborated further, I do like your interpretation though.
>she's being an actress to prove to herself that her life is her own and will probably continue to do things she believes "the real her" would do rather than do things out of pure passion or desire.
That I don't quite agree with, she seems to carry herself with confidence and her visiting Rumi and even going as far as to thank her for the whole experience shows that she is in control, she changed thanks to the events in the film but I don't think she does things because she is suppose to do them but because she became that ideal self an "idol" or a "star" of sorts.

I used to think I fully understood this movie on the first watch, until a more observant cunt on YouTube pointed out a shitload of scenes that didn't actually happen that I just took for granted as the film's reality.

That fucking phone call, holy fuck.

Why would he need to explain?
The movie explains itself, just watch it.
