What happened to all the female buddy cop type shows like Dirty Pair, You're Under Arrest, and Gunsmith Cats?
What happened to all the female buddy cop type shows like Dirty Pair, You're Under Arrest, and Gunsmith Cats?
IDK, but I miss them. Maybe they’re too saucy for modern otaku or something?
uhhh citrus, sweeatie?
You can't have an anime without a bland male self insert or else Okatu won't buy it.
There's only one good police anime, and it's called INFERNO COP.
How do you explain shit like Love Live and K-ON then?
What about Noir, Madlax and El Cazador? I want my girls with guns shows. And my tacos.
>Buddy cop
Fuck the police
Noir
Kiddy Grade
Canaan
Meant for a disturbing niche market, creepy adult men who want to hurt and abuse children
for the same reason the cyberpunk genre died out
zoomer btfo, nice pick
Mad Bull 34 and Dominion Tank Police are the fucking best.
Mad Bull 34 because it represents what America looks like to a Japanese
20 years in the iso-cubes, bud.
Patlabor.
I don't know but i hope they bring that space future, robots and shit back.
Dirty pair wasn't good.. Sure a few episodes were good, and the movie was great but the rest was boring.
Dominion tank police and Patlobar is really good though.
The opening speech was a great condemnation of milquetoast liberal politicians who won't let the police use military grade nukes to exterminate crime
Those are also over ten years old. Also,
>that art style
Dirty Pair was a ton of fun though. Yeah, it's not gonna win any awards but it's infinitely watchable.
But yeah, Project EDEN is amazing and has a godly OST.
Problem?
styles change, storytypes shift.
Obviously the biggest shift was from making cool stories to making self insert garbage for 90% of the industry.
Call me a cynical. I don't care. You know I'm right.
Maximum floof
Gross, Timm would just inject his fart fetish into the episodes.
i'd rather not have sameface dirty pair desu
People who like normal shit don't watch anime anymore.
>Kei and Yuri keep making the flat/fat jokes at each other when they're drawn with identical bodies
>Gouly and Calico look like bodybuilders
Not even the best police anime at trigger, pleya
The truest post of this thread
With all the complaints I see about isekai now, it makes me wonder who unironically even likes it even more? Even Japan knows how shitty the stories are and just want to fap to waifus. What a sad state for the industry to be in. Shit like Space Adventure Cobra could never fucking get made today.
>Yea Forums shit
go back
I would die happy if I could press my nose against
those boob windows.
In the dirty pair world, your chances for survival don't go down that much if you do.
Because they weren't great anyway.
I bet you didn't even know they grow when you squeeze 'em.
Isekai isn't the first in the self insert trend, that started with the harems and school battles trope.
There are 3 reasons this trope exists.
1) Lonely Japanese men want to insert themselves into a fantasy where they have things going for them.
2) These same lonely Japanese men are making up a portion of the mangakas and animators today.
3)It's a smart and safe monetary choice
That being said while it's a big chunk of the market, there's a lot of really good directors, productions, and studios that are out to make great things. If you look just underneath the filth there's a layer of absolute treasures.
>That art style
Very nice
He's right, you know.
Honestly I preferred the police station feel of Patlabor, with the entire base staff together
you just re-stated what OP said, idiot
I unironically told my imouto this years ago. I dunno if she actually ever followed the advice or not but she has huge tits now.
I was watching Dirty Pair raws when the only way to get them was from a guy at conventions who sold tapes dubbed from laser discs so spare me the "glorious Nippon" crap.
Madbull might not be the best thing, but looks incredible next to crap like inferno cuck.
I miss them
Yeah, your aim is really bad.
>Random gun murders and rapes on every street corner
>Justifiable police brutality
Most realistic anime ever made
>dat yuri dance scene
The story and characters may be shiiiiiit but the movie's just so gorgeous and a joy.
Is this the same guy as the "He doesn't watch 80s aesthetic anime" guy?
There's Psycho-Pass... S2.
Why would you even watch anime from 80s? They are not popular.
Some of them are good, it's just there's a whole thing with "le epic aesthetics" and shallow people who post gifs of Madoka looking sad, but if you were to ask them about KOR they'd have no idea what you're talking about
I hope they make a sequel instead of an shitty reboot.
