How do we solve the rushed final boss battle shonen problem?
How do we solve the rushed final boss battle shonen problem?
Put the final boss battle in the first episode then work up to it through the series.
>acnologia with boobs
ew
just don't watch battle shounen
just don't watch battle shounen
just don't watch battle shounen
No Kaguya?
For Bleach it's easy:
Reveal that Ichigo's bankai power is to cut away at reality by bleaching it into nothingness. Ywach can only pick futures based on what's there so that turns the final battle into a struggle of the cast setting things up so Ichigo could destroy everything around Yhwach to negate his ability. It's literally the best way to encapsulate the series' themes of revolution vs status quo into a climactic fight. After that Urahara secret final boss battle to flip back Ichigo's position in those themes back to where he stood in the SS arc.
Fairy Tail: Nothing to salvage.
NNT: Like fairy tail, power levels took their toll and nothing to make it better.
Wait, was Sinbad rushed? It felt like it dragged forever desu.
The final boss was Sasuke.
Nah, that was just the epilogue confession. Naruto and Sasuke basically had handholding sex.
More of a clusterfuck I guess, I never bothered finishing that battle, does it have a good ending that manga?
The epilogue was okay.
I never bothered finishing it either.
FT was ruined long before the final boss. replace with Reborn or Beelzebub's final boss, those two really sucked
Reborn its already there.
David was, Sin wasnt. Though I guess if you consider the whole Rift as David, the fight was decently long.
David and Bach were entertaining.
Yeah. David was all around a good final boss. Yhwach needed a longer fight but wasnt bad. Same for Furuta even though Furuta made zero sense. Bermuda, Acnologia and the Demon King were shit.
>furuta
>rushed
>all those times you managed to overcome fate
>it was because I wasnt there
Yhwach was based, he was self aware of how broken he was
How was Juha Bach in anyway rushed?
Never get to the final boss and you never have to worry about it. Works for One Piece.
At least Juha Bach felt like a final boss. In NNT, the Demon King feels less of a final boss than fucking Mael and Demon Hendrickson. I really don't get how those two can get the most furious battles but the Demon King just felt more like a nuisance than anything.
God that was such a flop.
How the fuck did they translate Yhwach into Juha Bach?
I prefer my final bosses slowly roasting in the crock pot.
Simple, just do like Yu Yu Hakusho and skip the final fight altogether. Impossible to rush something that doesn't exist.
>177x285
you should skip the rest of your life and become an hero
MHA and OP.
The main villain of Naruto should have been Orochimaru.
Better?
I liked how that anime/manga ended I don't get the hate.
Did you only watch the anime? The Yomi fight was much longer in the anime vs the manga. Also I'm not shitting on the way the manga ended on a whole necessarily, while it was clearly rushed there was still some closure. I'm just still upset that after so many great fights the final fight takes place almost entirely offscreen, along with most of the other tournament fights which had all been hyped up.
Who are the the top left 2 and bottom left 1?
Fairy Tail, Magi, and Tokyo Ghoul
Ywach was more literally rushed.
His final battle was like 5 chapters
OP meant the villains themselves are rushed into being a final boss with no foreshadowing and planning, not the rushed boss fights themselves. Kubo was also too sick to continue drawing more chapters of Bleach and needed surgery on his arms.
Who will be the rushed final boss of BnHA?
How did Fairy Tail actually end anyway? Who's that bitch on top left
Genderbent Acnologia
shigaraki after gaining 1mil quirks from AfO and using the fusion quirk to fuse with All Might and Endeavor.
Acnologia rule 63
outsource to Araki
Where's Kaguya?
7 YEARS
Unironically set the limits in your story early on by showcasing the peak of performance in the beginning or have your final boss grow with the cast in some meaningful way so that there is some emotional catharsis in fighting them. Every single example that you posted (and Kaguya from Naruto who was shamefully left off) is a shoehorned in final boss with no reason for us to give a fuck about them and their character other than being the designated final punching bag.
I wouldnt say David is that, he was set from the beggining. He should have been replaced with Kaguya indeed and the image would be perfect.
Also, a villain can appear in the end outta nowhere and still be satisfying. Clear Note final battle on Gash Bell was incredibly good, no matter how asspully.
If Ichigo just got a normal sword and had an actual release that said
>Bleach, Zangetsu
It would have been 10/10. But no, let's just break his bankai and never show what it actually does.
As a counterpoint, Clear Note was a perfect final boss for Gash Bell as it captured the central themes of the story and resulted in a strong emotional payoff. Many manga fail to capture their central themes so consistently while making them resonate with the readers so their attempts at having a thematically driven final boss (take NNT for example) as opposed to a character driven final boss fall flat.
Yeah no
>what it actually does
Why do you think it does something special? Ichigo has always been a melee fighter, not hax
Is NNT done?
Haven't read it in like 2 years
Just a few more chapters
Context?
I think the final fight with Valentine took years to complete, I'm not sure it was actually 7 tho and it's a monthly manga so shit like that is to be expected if it's a long fight
No what?
No, and if he's keeping to the planned 40 volumes, then there should still be 20-ish chapters left.
SBR in its entirety was 7 years.
The D4C stuff was around 2-3 years IIRC
Shigaraki
Most pacing plot problems would be fixed if editors just fucked off, and publishers put priority over letter writers/mangaka tell their stories rather than forcing changes on pacing and even content.
You might have a great story about (hypothetically) orochimaru being the big bad with the intention to end it there but then editors might want to drag it on so you now have to start putting shit out of your arse which you didn't plan for. On the flip side you might have a slow being up to a nice reveal but 2 chapters away you get told something like 'rescue arcs are all the hype these days make your character go on one of those', and when that goes to shit because you're telling a story you didn't want to tell/with a setting that wasn't set up to tell it now your manga is getting axed you have x chapters to finish it.
At the end of the day it's more an industry problem, question is whether that environment can be fixed.
The magaka of MAGI is inocent
Come on. All this time it just fucked pooped out a cero wave. Am I asking for too much when I think of something else?
Have an even shittier rushed final boss outside shonen to make your own look better by contrast.
xehanort was great
>MHA and OP.
What?
KEYBLADE was fun, tho
And have no catharsis by just having him get gay married with a ghost!
