epic meme! upvote.
What?
>Togashi explains the meme
Based
Togashi explained it better. Hopefully Tsar-radishes power will stay consistent
But Togashi improved it.
The only thing I dislike about this ability is that 0 seconds to see a vision part is a little too bullshit. It should have been close to 10 seconds when he created it then he should have improved it up to the point where it only took him 1 or possibly 2 seconds to view the future.
Many other mangaka: Hey bro, can we copy your homework?
Togashi: Sure bros, just change it a little so the teacher doesn't find out.
le epic leddit meme.
>OPM
>Togashi influence
????
Togashi invented anti-climaxes
Say what you will, but Hunter x Jojo is an enjoyable arc.
murata bow down to togashi (drawing of murata)
More like
>hey bro can i fix your homework
Can anyone redpill me on what The Promised Neverland stole from Togashi?
I watched the anime recently and I haven't noticed anything good in it.
Honestly, it's like saying Inception stole from that one Duck Tales manga chapter....... (retarded)
I like HxH but both of these are definitely not proof of anything since one is artistic license showing how strength and an attack impose on someone, and the other is based on a phrase thousands of years old.
demons are reveled later on to be basically chimera ants (eating humans = becoming humans) plus Emma uses Gon's technique (waiting the moment the hunter catch it's prey) for hunting down the demons at Goldy Pond
That's retarded. So of the demons eat too much humans, do they also get eaten by demons?
kek One and Murata literally released a One shot with Leorio as protagonist!
they are fond of Togashi!
this to me seams the history of the chimera ants
Tse's ability is actually perfectly explained in the manga, unlike Baron Red.
Leorio and Kurapika with long hair next to him!
Not as bad as bnha. Take Kouta who's similar to Inari from Naruto in that both of their parents were killed from trying to be heroes, with both now resenting the act of trying to be a hero thinking it's dumb because it took their loved ones away from them for no reason. Except that in the bnha world you literally get paid for being a hero along with plenty of other benefits, so it's not like they're doing it for free. Unlike in Naruto where it was just one man going up against a much larger force because he was trying to inspire people to stand up for themselves.
So when Horikoshi took Inari's story and tried to insert it in bnha, the context no longer makes sense and Kouta's view point on heroes just comes off as retarded.
That's not the same as saying that a couple panels are indicative of anyone inspired by, or copying Togashi. At least here you have something more specific than using an intimidating punch.
Aaraki : Hey bro, can I copy your homework ?
Togashi : Sure bro, just change it a little so the teacher doesn't find out.
delusional
New copypasta?
Toriko is explicitly influenced by Dragon Ball and One Piece though. I don't even know where you see HxH influence in Toriko aside from the hunter theme I guess.
Not even a hunterfag but left looks way better.
have you even read toriko?
Besides that one drawing looking similar, this user's right.
t. huntefag
delusionals
ah yes, togashi invented punching.
who knows
togashi invented manga retard
Toriko also fishes out a "fish-crab" in the first chapter, like Gon in the first chapter of HxH.
do you even know the contex of that scene?
Bseed Kubo not inspiring more shit series
The bottom looks so vacant. If your go and take a bite offa' someone else's shtick, occupy it with detail and flavor. Compensate for the work you wont be doing.
And the term Gourmet Hunter came from HxH anyway.
as showed here
only delusionals keep deluding themselves
Huh. Okay, I stand corrected, those are pretty undeniable.
I ain't even mad, I love HxH and Toriko.
Kubo influenced Soul Eater and Kimetsu no Yaiba.
At what point did Togashi give up drawing and just become a novelist? This shit reads like a light novel
you are right! i will update the chart next time!
beside
>Soul Eater
I had totally forgotten that shitty series!
It was a gradual process
me too, and in any case for me Toriko is way better than OP
It is just a few pages in the last volume that look like that.
>fully explaining the ability
Do hunterfags have Downs or something? Can they not appreciate something unless it’s fully explained?
togashi want to avoid king crimson controversy
I've seen multiple examples of pages mostly made up of words. I think around Greed Island is when I started to notice this shit.
I guess Naruto Rasenganing trees is also an influence of Togashi rather than martial arts training history of Japan.
And Togashi was influenced by a bunch of other works too. Chimera ants consuming humans to become more human is not new to either Western or Eastern mythos at all.
I love Togashi's works, but he is as derivative as any other artist.
Gourmet Hunters
It's Togashi's 'style', you just don't understand his marvellous prose and complex concepts. It is well known by every art connoisseur that seinen battle manga Hunter x Hunter created by maestro himself is a deconstruction of terrible exposition, bad infodumping and overexplaining.
what's the point of this ability of he doesn't havfe the strength to back it up?
king crimson is strong as fuck in addition to the time fuckery.
Togashi sees these battles kinda like games and explaining the mechanics down to a T is what allows people to play the games fairly.
Who the fuck cares just like what you like you stupid fucking insufferable faggots
>Jojo part 5
>released in 1995
>HxH

When is the next chapter coming out?
Most Nen users use Gyo to kill their opponent. That focuses their aura in a limb and would allow Tse to evade and kill them even if he is weaker.
Tse would indeed be shit tier against strong opponents on the defensive, but he is unlikely to face one until they have already figured out his ability.
I mean, it is not like HxH has a lot of fights. Tse will probably have killed 5 people at the end of the arc at most.
kek
Given that no announcement was made this week, and the new series are coming throught May and even June, we are pretty fucked.
We basically have to wait until some other manga ends. So maybe wait until Zumou or Jimoto, or one of the new manga gets the axe.
Late June or July are the most optimistic non-delusional expectations. And some user said in one of these threads that Togashi likes going on vacation with his family during summer, so maybe we'll ven have to wait for September/October.
Kurapika is the main one he's up against and he's broken as fuck.
Radish-san also has his fucked up Nen Beasts
OH SHit. OP on suicide watch.
>have everything with a lick of complexity explained to you in excruciating detail, turning some pages into an instruction manual
>readers mistake this for their own intelligence
>gloat about how cultured they are for reading the ramblings of a depressed boomer who failed to realize the potential of his intelligence
really makes you think
plagiarism is the name of togashi's game
Obviously Togashi is inspired by the real world
Someone post the Inoue one so this faggot leaves the thread with his tail between his legs like he did last time.
I don't know why I find this page hilarious
Pathetic how you "people" keep reposting this.
>backgrounds replaced with text
>overexplaining his ability
>dumb pose at the top
>unfinished face at the bottom
I feel like if anything it's Mob Psycho that has HxH influence instead.
That reminds me of Devilman more than HxH. Although maybe the chimera ants were inspired by Devilman.
>epitaph was too confusing
ok
At this point almost any Shonen has some Stand-ish elements. Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, HxH and the list goes on and on..
If someone comes up with such a cool concept, then why not take it? Every artist steals, it just depends on how you steal it.
I am still waiting to see for the end of the arc to judge if Togashi did a good job or not.
When Inoue does it, it's okay :')
>Every artist steals, it just depends on how you steal it.
This user gets it.
Slam Dunk got canned. HxH is next.
Inoue is a joke
If you are drawing a comic about a real sport it would be weird to NOT look at photo references. There is a limited number of poses and movements the body can make
why does this somehow excuse Togashi though?
Nice whataboutism. This thread is about Togashi and you bring someone unrelated along. Guess not even huntards can refute proof of plagiarism so they have to lash out at other people doing the same as if it absolves Togashi of anything.
do you have the one where he traced a bunch of tragedies for a DEEP spread
This
>Every artist steals, it just depends on how you steal it.
tfw this is lowkey a Kanye west quote.
based user
I don't wanna derail such a great thread but does anyone know if screenshots of vol 36 were posted anywhere?
if so did togashi fix anything in the release
It's hilarious how the nonplayable soulless husk OP tried to imply that Togashi stole something, but then this thread completely raped him and proved how Togashi is the one who gets stolen from by everyone, including Araki.
Togashi invented shamelessly ripping off Dragon Ball and Jojo
Cope.
Yeah but Tse isn't a spider so Kurapika is hamstrung there.
Why do they still try to argue against superior hunterchad arguments?
>using face models is bad
wew
JoJo ripped off Togashi first tho
Great artists like Toriyama take from across cultures and media. Dragon Ball is a synthesis of Chinese mythology and American movies with some Japanese Super Robot. Less great artists just take what’s successful in their medium and try to put their own spin on it. If done well you get something interesting like Hunter x Hunter, but if done wrong you get schlock like Black Clover.
I didn't read part 5 manga and that explanation did help me understand king crimson. Still, hxh is a pain to read with all that text and trying to remember what is happening when there is a chapter every 6 months
Is that really ripping off? How many characters have explosion/bomb based abilities. Lol it must be absolutely impossible that any two people can come up with the same idea. Especially such an original one. Kira and emofag don't even look alike.
And how many characters have precognition abilities? Exactly
How many have precognition with exactly 10 seconds of time into the future and people not realizing what is modified in that time?
only made in abyss and naruto
How many have precognition + time skip though?
lurk more before posting here fag
>Lol
As expected of desperate soulless husk who tries to accuse Togashi-sama of stealing from another author, then backpaddles and moves the goalposts when it's pointed out that all other authors stole from Togashi-sama.
P A T H E T I C
Araki rips off covers from important fashion magazines for his jojo poses and covers
but I love both
>Makoto Shinkai's art is bad
>Takehiko Inoue art is bad
>Boichi's art is bad
>Kiyohiko Azuma' art is bad
>Asano's art is bad
etc.
I could go on and on, if an artist has amazing backgrounds/realistic looking characters etc. it's almost for sure traced from photographs, and that's how it should be, why would they take 3x the time to do someting 3x worse? Because someone out there thinks it's "cheating"?
You're obviously new to manga and thus you just haven't realized it yet.
Not getting into the argument but Inoue actually adjusts the characters' respective expressions/positioning based on their differing physiques and personalities. This is actually referencing done right.
>huntercucks must defend their retarded holy grail at any cost no matter the mental gymnastics
How do you not feel pathetic?
>What is hunterchad posting
You must be new
You really think these schmucks do this ironically? Lmao
honestly anyone would cheat if they had to deal with all that deadline bullshit workload
That's the problem with ironic shitposting. It starts off as a joke, then people think it's real and people who actually believe what they are saying start posting.
More like he took the idea, and actually made it work. He sees 10 seconds, a "double" is left behind so laws of casualty can't be broken and everything happens to the rest and to his double like he saw, and while that is happening he is moving by being in like another dimensional plane.
King Crimson is a shitshow, works like Araki wants and contradicts itself or pulls new shit where it should be any.
>why would they take 3x the time to do someting 3x worse?
This argument really falls flat on its fucking face when you look at Togashi's release history, you know?
And Araki obviously didn't invent the guardian spirits, they appeared in myths all over the world. Obviously, his take on the concept was incredibly cool.
It's kinda unfair to claim that a character dunking in a basket manga is a copy of a real player dunking in a game. You could check footage of NBA games to find a pose matching every panel of Slam Dunk if you wanted to be anal enough, but he's drawing basketball, it's not like he can invent poses that people haven't done yet in a game unless you go full Kuroko no Basket.
at this point it'll be impossible to write something without accidentally ripping someone/something off
>Sure bro, just change it a little so the teacher doesn't find out
Well, he changed it a little. In fact, Togashi implementing the ability so well shows that he's one of the few people that actually understood King Crimson. His version is easier to understand, but Araki's King Crimson looks better, and timeskip is more impressive than seeing people acting in front of your ghost like retards.
Also, it's not like tracing a photo means that you would automatically end with a good drawing. That's why people doesn't value the work of inkers in comic, which is ridiculous, but even more ridiculous in manga where the use of black and white is even more prominent than in US comics.
Togashi was still releasing on a weekly schedule when those pages came out.
Thank you for putting it into words.
Man, TPN is so SHIT! It's literally worse than My C-uckademia. No wonder people say it's part of the new big 3.
Good. Clear influence.
Very different aside from visuals, which even then is stretching is for half of these.
See
That guy is from YYH. 1991.
yeah, the pose looks a lot more fluid, even if the art on the right is technically better
I know who he is and where he's from, but I guess I just blindly believed that user since I never pay attention to specific years of releases.
inspiring that much garbage to be made should be a crime

>that pic
why are shounenfags so much more prone to retarded consolewarfaggotry? is it because their shit is mainstream or because it's made specifically for children?
>Kyoani vs Trigger
>VEG vs Franxx
>Rei vs Asuka
>Yurifags
Togashi doesn't have an original bone in his body
>Kyoani vs Trigger
>VEG vs Franxx
These two are literally the same thing
>Rei vs Asuka
You got me there, waifufags are the most vitriolic group of people and will find any reason to be at eachother's throats.
>Yurifags
These are less consolewarfags and more like the scots in that they'll just fight anyone and anything for no fucking reason, even other yurifags, ESPECIALLY other yurifags.
upvoted
Its realistic on purpose because HxH is a critic of our society.
Low IQ
High IQ
Whenever a new Trigger show gets made, they always shit up the board, don't you remember Kill la KIll? Also VEGfags are akways in the consolewar mentality like you said. Wait till the new movie comes out and see what will happen.
Yurifags are extremely cancerous because they hate everything that isn't Yuri.
See, you shoulnd't blame shounen for everything.
>be hiatusnigger

HunterxHunter is my favorite Manga of all time. I feel slightly embarrassed that praising Togashi has turned into some weird obnoxious meme. Now let's look at this list.
>OPM Nope
>Promised Neverland Nope
>Naruto Yes, alright.
>Bleach Some early creature designs perhaps, but it's a stretch.
>Black Cat Yes.
>Tokyo Ghoul Nope
>Made in Abyss Why even put this on the list? Nope.
>I don't know what this is n/a
>Toriko All the characters are essentially gourmet hunters so there's strong parallels. Then again Toriko introduced the dark continent (gourmet world) earlier than HxH did, so the two series could be said to be symbiotic in some ways.
So that's only two series of direct influence, two and a half if we're being genorous.
>OPM: Read the thread
>Neverland: Go read the manga and see for yourself
>Bleach: bad copy of YYH
>Tokyo Ghoul: Go read the interview between Ishida and Togashi
>MiA: Go read the manga. The author of MiA even wrote on Twitter that hes a fan olf Togashi
People seem to be mistaking "I like this famous, well known manga that has had broad, historical appeal both in and out of the industry" with "yes this was a huge influence on my work completely overshadowing everything else."
Liking togashi manga doesn't mean he is ripping him off. If anything he could be ripping off cp with all the loli service
Every Hunter x Hunter primary antagonist is partially inspired by a JoJo primary antagonist.
>gay clown in pointy shoes, heart theme, constantly making sexy poses, famous O! line, signature attacks causes unexpected sharp objects to barrage the enemy, you thought he was dead, may use people as projectile weapons, has a boner for the next guy
>well-read man with Christian imagery on his black coat, steals others abilities, has a complicated relationship with the previous man
>serial killer who uses bombs, named after what I just said, abilities can cause simple explosions or turn others into bombs, has famous "I'm the killer" moment
>ultimate life form, light theme, grows wings in his final form, dies to the after effects of a giant explosion
>smug blonde politician who feels more like a game show host
I thought Gyro would be Diavolo, since he's super-user and Kite looks like Doppio now, but then Togashi gave Nietzsche his ability, so maybe not. Nicking King Crimson is honestly the only comparison I don't find shallow enough to be hand waved. I really want to know what he was thinking with that.
Kubo partially inspired My Hero Academia. It was originally going to be called My Hero. "My Hero" was one of the Foo Fighters' first singles. The Foo Fighters were formed by Dave Grohl immediately after his former band disbanded due to their leader singer, Kurt Cobain, committing suicide. Said band is Nirvana and their first album, relatively unknown and before Grohl joined, was Bleach. The manga Bleach has several Nirvana references in it early on. Another Foo Fighters single from the same album as "My Hero" was "Everlong," the video of which features a man who gains the power to make his hands big.
King Crimson is strong but he has to wait for normal time to kick in to attack. Tserriednich doesn't.
They're not exactly the same.
>people posing for tasteless art
>criminals being executed
>animals eating other animals
Oh, what a terrible world we live in.
Chrollo predates Pucci you fucking idiot.

Can't imagine where. In HxH every single character is selfish and flawed. In Mob every single character is a misguided hero.
Mob's characters are also selfish and flawed. The main difference is that they grow as characters and change for the better, but in HxH the opposite happens, and they usually become worse people. It's similar character development, just executed in the opposite direction.
In Mob's case it's the opposite direction of what I find interesting. The plot device protagonist rolling in and everyone reforming into better people after banging their heads against him a few times got real old after about 6 episodes.
I can see why you think that, although I think the character development in Mob was handled really well. It only felt like that "plot device protagonist rolling in" towards the last half of the second season, as most of the character development was with Mob himself prior to that. I think HxH does a good job of it too though; it's not like I think either of them handles character development poorly. Gon specifically is a really good character towards the end of his arc.
It's about natural amorality, not bawww cruelty. The latter is the kind of shitty shallow "ideals" you pick up from pop fiction.
>"tracing"
>drawings don't line up with photographs
Artists are allowed to use references, you know. Not using references is lazy. You can't expect people to draw realistically without seeing reality. No artist is skilled enough to know how to draw everything by heart.
/r/ing that one post about the references used in the volume 34 cover
>Not using references is lazy.
Not necessarily true.
>You can't expect people to draw realistically without seeing reality.
This is true, but an artist is arguably better if they can draw realistically from memory alone.
>No artist is skilled enough to know how to draw everything by heart.
False. Although Kim Jung Gi is an outlier, and pretty much no one is as good as him.
Wow Togashi is such a hack.

>Togashi decides to make many characters appear in Black Whale arc since he’d like to know what will happen in a chaotic situation. He refers to Oda, who also introduced many characters in one arc (probably implying Marineford Arc).
Hes trying to surpass Captain Tsubasa.
What's the record, anyway?
At the rate Togashi releases chapters, Oda may reach that goal before he does.
Why are you posting Eren's wife itt?
Can I save this meme ? It is funny : )
hxh influence kishimoto new series, its like this thread was a prophecy
kek
I won't beat around the bush, The Chimera Ant Arc is one of the greatest written manga stories. It is perfectly executed and tackles multiple themes and ideas. It is a work of art.
With that said, stop pretending everything in HxH is good. Greed Island is a steaming pile of shit, and so is this Succession War Arc. People who mindlessly shit on HxH are no different than people who praise it, both simply unable to tell bad from good.
Did i just hear a brainlet or am i imagining it?
>(probably implying Marineford Arc).
kill yourself opfag that can't read his own language: that's a comment by the translator, not a comment made by Togashi. Here is what Togashi really says about the last arc:
>Togashi: "In the arc right now, I'am adding a ridiculous amount of character while also stressing out about it..."
>Kishimoto: That must be hard to draw...
>Togashi: Many artist have done it before... Oda-sensei, for example.
that's all, in fact he is trying to surpass the number of characters in Capitan Tsubasa, as stated in the ryu jump too (pic related)
In any case, lately Oda is running out of ideas, so he started copying Nen: now Haki can be moved from one part of the body to another to strengthen that part! fucking ridiculous, don't you think opfag?
All the faction must be already introduced at this point right..? My brain can't handle it anymore if Togashi introduce another group of character.
No, that was foreshadowed ages ago, speedreader. And Qi is a concept that's existed for centuries. Togashi didn't invent it.
In any case, care to answer this?
Awful taste.
What even would that be good for?
I mean you need to close your eyes to trigger it, so it'll only work on stuff that you're expecting to happen already.
I guess it could be useful in sport or something, but still...
>No, that was foreshadowed ages ago
this only means that was copied ages ago
GOLD EXPERIENCE
He probably will still give names and plans to the major Hei-Li members, and Ken'i of the Cha-R mafia still needs subordinates.
There are also a couple Hunters in Tier 1 that haven't been given names. The ones in Luzurus room.
And while some of them will probably be established characters, Kurapika announced a second class of Nen teaching.
That last one really pissed me off and ruined last volume for me. I hope Togashi has that one go south quickly. But then again, I kinda want Sakata to get Nen and 30+ Nen users in Tier 1 would be pretty damn fun if it wasn't because it will be 2 MORE FUCKING WEEKS of the protag doing jackshit.
Maybe skip time a bit? Change to Leorio as protag for the next two weeks? I really don't want two more weeks of teaching Nen.
Holy shit this is ridiculous.
What a fucking hack lmao
LOL I WON.
He is training to enter Zetsu automatically every 10 seconds.
And everyone else being trapped in an Illusion is pretty damn powerful if you manage to kill then quickly.
And his Nen Beast is around for around 30 minutes after entering permanent Zetsu, and the Seed Urn NB appear to be physically stronger than most Nen users.
>That last one really pissed me off and ruined last volume for me. I hope Togashi has that one go south quickly.
That's the one where Camille's subordinate plans to appear with the intention of killing Woble's. So at the very least there's a ticking time bomb of when she will enact her plan, and there's also the possibility we'll instead get to see what Woble's guardian spirit can do.
kek he is so much a loser that even after his natural death, the jump will continue to milk his franchise
Every manga artist steals shit. Even Togashi admits to it.
Anyway, care to answer this?
Wow now I know that time powers were created by Araki and only him, what a visionary.
This is beyond my comprenhension.
HxH is my favorite anime!!
>anime
There is nothing wrong with both cases and both manga are peak Shounen
>
>monster with no sign of a mind of emotions, illogical anatomy with spikes and superfluous limbs everywhere, shooting fire in random directions, and you know ahead of time that all combat function it has is pointless as OPM will just OP it anyway; enormous amounts of art spent on essentially a non-thing
vs
>basically no art, large amounts of detail-oriented monologue, something that inherently takes more skill to implement to your story because bad writing creates plot holes, and as demonstrated in this very comparison the average shounenfag will throw a hissy fit if they see to many words but will jack off to even the most pointlessly overdesigned enemy
That image actually captures style vs substance in a shounen manga very well.
I don't get why shounenfags seem to think that page space is a zero-sum. A page with no art doesn't equal laziness when the fact of the matter is that the lack of time used on one page can be turned around and funneled into a different one or improving the storyboard. I get that half of it is probably shitposting but there are a lot of fags that you can really tell are genuinely butthurt at too many words ("visual medium" idiots).
>you know ahead of time that all combat function it has is pointless
Hunterbro, do you even read the manga you are trying to criticise? Parody or not, Orochi vs Garou was pure fighting KINO.
Add Dragonball for ultimate shitpot
Sure, but Kurapika is still too reactive. HunterxHunter (and stories in general, imo) are at their best when there are many moving parts. Kurapika stopping assassins who keep coming at him is just maintaining a status quo.
In that sense, Kurapika has been boring for the last 20 chapters or so because he isn't advancing on a tangible goal, except by surviving. And that also wastes all the foreshadowing of the incoming massacre/wave of death/explosion.
>basically no art, large amounts of detail-oriented monologue
That would be cool if it was a book and not a manga, it's actually bad writing to plot dump, especially when most readers will ignore it or forget it especially during a long hiatus.
You can have a comic/manga with no words and just art and have decent to masterpiece comic. But a comic with no art and all dialog is just a book.
>>drawings don't line up with photographs
It was just 1 page of 20, mate
>Every Hunter x Hunter primary antagonist is partially inspired by a JoJo primary antagonist.
Mentally ill Redditor. HxH is a better manga than JoJo and it didn't steal ANYTHING AT ALL from JoJo.
Wrong on both counts
I can't believe you're this retarded. That same movement happens a hundred of times in every match, you might as well take a picture of a person standing and a random 2D character from any manga ever and show that they line up.
In other words, you just admitted you are a Redditor.
>ripping off Jojo
what the fuck, fucking lazy shit
>WAAAAAAH WHY IS THIS BASKETBALL-BASED MANGA REFERENCING ICONIC BASKETBALL IMAGES
How is this a fucking rip off what the fuck
That was a different poster you paranoid autist
OH HO HO HO NO NO NO NO NO
what the fuck
>"That was a different poster whiteknighting me!!"
Isn't the Succession War basically Game of Thrones though?
Honestly, Togashi has good taste. Araki is pretty based.
Family feud.
Well at least you admit that you were wrong
