What do you all think of boku no hero academia...

What do you all think of boku no hero academia? Do you think its good for the anime community as it has come into the mainstream, as even the Fine Bros reacted to it, or . do you think it brings a lot of betas to the cultute?

Bland. Most boring shounen.

It's mediocre and very boring

it's pure unfiltered 3/10 trash, first season is one of the worst seasonals I had the mispleasure of watching the whole way through and the fanbase is one of the worst normalfag cancers known to this board and internet as a whole. almost on par with jojofags
guess at least the porn is good

It had a good start, but it's just one of the many other stuff labeled shounen. It's not like im really into it, but still kinda like it.

I think it's good, but the manga is starting to lose steam a bit.

Though It's become the new "naruto" in terms of people over-crowding conventions with their shitty bought online spandex cosplay, however.

I kinda disagree bc I think that the start was pretty boring because the big hero fight was 6 fucking episodes and dragged on and on, but I thought the tournament was really well done. I do enjoy it, but I stopped watching it because of Normiefags

I’m not a retard that would start disliking something because other people like it, it’s just boring. the MC is by far one of the worst I’ve seen, and it’s just capeshit disguised as manga, capeshit is a disgrace that would better off dead.

>Be in a RACE
>Decide it would be good to pick up a LARGE HUNK of metal because "Hey it MIGHT be useful!"
>Ice kid decides to freze a giant robot just enough so that it would drop on the kids that follow him
>Good thing the two kids who got dropped on both happened to have hardening powers or else this competition may have to be stopped or something
>Ice kid decides not to just breeze through the field of landmines by making an ice path and win the race with ease because the other kids behind him would also be able to use this path, even though it wouldn't matter as long as he keeps his lead and wins the race. Even though the kid right behind him, Bakugou, has already shown that he can fucking FLY.
>Bakugou stops flying to fight it out with Todoroki while running on foot over a field of landmines even though this is a race
>Deku is able scoop up 20 landmines without even 1 of them exploding even though he's doing it with a LARGE HUNK of metal
>20 different explosions from 20 different landmines is treated as if it was 1 big explosion from 1 big landmine that conveniently drops Deku between Bakugou and Todoroki who are somehow still in the same position as they were when Deku got there
>MHAfags then loudly cheer "WOW Deku, you're so SMAAART unlike these other loud shonen mcs!"

I mainly just appreciate how focused it is in terms of episode structure. I much prefer a 12-25 episode season as opposed to just 500+ episodes of nonsensical filler and exposition/fights happening once in a blue moon.

The west did it better to be honest.

The series would be much better if Hori just scrapped all the dumb training arcs and focused on the worldbuilding.

It’s bland but I like it okay. I think I need a bland, long-running shonen in my life to keep me sane. I stuck with Naruto for years so this is no problem.

can you at least be consistent with your shit?
you used "ice kid" to refer to todoroki in the first half of your greentext but used his name in the second half.

Same, I appreciate this structure for long-running shines FAR better than 52 episodes a year until filler

On BnHA. While I generally enjoy it a lot, it falls into a similar trend of the hero having everything handed to him while side characters and jobbers stand marvelling at how amazing the MC and his rival are

Do you like capeshit Naruto? Because Deku is what you get when you mash up your typical bland self-insert harem mc with Naruto, a very contrived character whose motivations and actions are based on what's most convenient for the harem trope or Naruto scene the author wants to follow. He doesn't have much self-confidence but still thinks he should be the next All might. He's shy and supposedly analytical but still impulsively charges straight into situations like he's Naruto. He gets picked on by Bakugou but still treats him like Naruto treats Sasuke, as his gay lover. All bnha is, is a shitty cash grab to appeal to low iq retards with shit pattern recognition by straight up ripping off things that were COOL in Naruto and building the story around those cool things. That's why most of the other parts of the story are filled with ANIME tropes and cliches.

Take Kouta who's similar to Inari from Naruto in that both of their parents were killed from trying to be heroes, with both now resenting the act of trying to be a hero thinking it's dumb because it took their loved ones away from them for no reason. Except that in the bnha world you literally get paid for being a hero along with plenty of other benefits, so it's not like they're doing it for free. Unlike in Naruto where it was just one man going up against a much larger force because he was trying to inspire people to stand up for themselves.

So when Horikoshi took Inari's story and tried to insert it in bnha, the context no longer makes sense and Kouta's view point on heroes just comes off as retarded.

I know a girl who's dyslexic, so only watches dubs, and I believe she has other impairments as well. Her top favorite shows are all time are BNHA, RWBY, Fairy Tail, and DBZ...

I'm legitimately not being mean, but that's.... just summarizing kind of how I view the series itself and its target audience. Maybe it's not actually BAD but not my thing, but a lot of the people who think it's really good buy Funko Pops.

So basically the anime equivalent of Overwatch?

MBHNA only proves that the current era of shonen is completely fucker. MHA is the insignia shonen, the best thing there is right now, "The new Naruto"...

And now compare it with the past good shonen and see it's pretty crap. It doesn't get anywhere neat Naruto, nor One Piece, it doesn't even reach Bleach's highs, Fairy Tail I'd even argue was a better shonen but let's say BNHA is at fairy tail's level. FT was the laugh stock of the past shonen generation. Of course then you include older shit like dbz, yuyu hakusho and HxH and MHA gets buttfucked even further.
It really doesn't hold a candle to the really good shonen manga but it's what we have right now and the other alternatives are even worse. I'm starting to doubt we'll ever get something memorable in the future of the Shonen Jump.

>A lot of the people who think it's really good buy Funko Pops.
Heroaca is the favorite anime of the biggest Funko-poptard at my college, holy shit it's true. This guy could have bought actual figurines with that much money but he's obsessed with collecting Funkos. And there was other guy who also loves BNHA and he's obsessed with pins.

I think I see your point. It takes a certain kind of person to love undeveloped characters just based on their superficial traits.

It's like disney shounen. By that I mean someone purposely started out by assembling a list of what buttons someone "should" push on the surface level of what makes people like a shounen series to max out marketability, before any characters or the story concepts were finalized

I really like it and personally I think there's nothing bad in a manga/anime turning popular desu
