The show was only ever entertaining as a source of cuck shitposting and femdom fetish pandering from 02, and they eventually got rid of the latter by making 02 a generic submissive cute girl.

Better than with the fatty at least and I don't mind if it's shallow, because looks are 90% of the ships anyways. In the show Mitsuru and Kokoro were pretty bad and had many inconsistencies in their personality, but so had everyone else. Let's face it, the cast and their characterization was mostly shit.

But it had some top tier designs by Your Name character designer Masayoshi Tanaka. Other good thing is the performances that the VAs gave. I mostly like the cute scenes they had and fanart, even if the show was garbage.

Make no mistake though, I have nothing against fat characters. Chouji and Hashida are pretty based. Maybe I wouldn't even have said anything if they didn't introduce Mitsuru as potential love interest to Kokoro and kept the original pairs (Like I was until episode 7). Of course I like better looking couple more, specially after Futoshi became unbearable and super annoying (even among fat characters he is bottom-tier)

For a show with bloated cast, I'm glad Mitsukoko was quite developed, their story wasn't meant to be the main one, so no heavy drama, which consequently meant their story would be bland and uninteresting to some, but personally, their constrast to Hir02 was what made me like this pair more.
I was neutral at most with Futoshi, mostly ignored him, but the manga made him worse, it's like Yabuki is deliberately setting him up to be as unlikeable as possible.

I could care less about futoshi, and honestly Kokoro was just as annoying as he was because she was the same one note character with baby instead of food as an obsession. Characterization was indeed shit. Part of why i didnt like them was the writers ignoring them for several episodes then fast forwarding through progress like a bad fanfic. You want to sell me on a couple give me more than a dramatic highlight reel.
