Gohan was about to jump in but was held back because he would've gotten DQ'd and Goku told him that she'd get a senzu bean. What's worse is that Mr. Satan wasn't watching the match and didn't even listen to the person telling him his daughter was in danger. It would've been cool if he jumped out there and rescued his daughter.
As for the fight itself it was really odd how they had it take up an entire episode. We've seen other characters get their shit kicked in but usually in life or death fights. Even Vegeta's beatdown was brutal but he deserved it for taking on Frieza without realizing what he was up against. Goku's fight with Piccolo in DB was also brutal but they were evenly matched. And it's one of the few times a female is fighting as well. But it was quite clearly another time.
