opm and a thread died for this

On the rewatch now and I still never skip the OP.

Why is the ED so good bros? The ending where Touka smiles make me go doki doki.

> Boogiepop wa Warawanai
Is this a remake of the 2000 version?

>opm and a thread died for this
And I count zero losses.
Only those who can't see the meaning inside themselves skip the OP.
It's comfy as hell.
Separate series, Phantom is a non-canon bridge story between books 1 and 2. Both shows are great though, although Phantom has the stronger direction.

Attached: 7.jpg (800x557, 86K)

It's a proper adaptation of the LNs, although they rushed through the first one. Phantom is anime-original and expects you to have read a few of the LNs for full context.

>Separate series, Phantom is a non-canon bridge story between books 1 and 2. Both shows are great though, although Phantom has the stronger direction.
Got it, thank you lad.

is this show worth continuing?

What ep did you stop on?

good

Phantom was trash garbage.

Couldn't bring myself to watch episode 2. First episode was a chore that I basically had to force myself through.

Just finished the Imaginator arc after a break because of real life stuff. Feels like a mistake because now I feel lost.

So was the implied reason Orihata is immune to Imaginator fuckery is Kirima-kun loved her that much?

I don't remember much about Imaginator (floating ghost school girl). Is she re-occuring in the novels?

Your time is better spent elsewhere then. If you barely got through the first ep, the second and third would have killed your interest. The first arc wasn't as confusing and weird on rewatch but it's still a tough sell for AOs, shame since the show does improve with each ep.

>So was the implied reason Orihata is immune to Imaginator fuckery is Kirima-kun loved her that much?
Pretty much.
>I don't remember much about Imaginator (floating ghost school girl). Is she re-occuring in the novels?
Yes, she has a cameo in the next arc in the anime and a role in a later untranslated novel.

Well that clears that up. I still don't quite understand what Imaginator meant by "breaking through", though. Is this explained later?

I have been thinking about it for days but I'll probably start my rewatch this week

I haven't even been able to watch it once in it's entirety because GJM are taking fucking forever with it and autism is stopping me from getting HS and having mixed releases.

Nope, on my initial viewing I figured it meant going beyond society's common sense and the limitations of humanity, or something.
I'm just taking my time whenever I get the chance to sit down and watch it.
Sounds like a raw deal, user.

In your opinion, is it better to watch the original show only after watching the new show to get a better idea of the context/characters? Or is going in blind perfectly fine as long as I've got my head on my shoulders while watching it?

I've been planning to get into the series starting with the original show which I've heard had its own story and unique direction but knowing that the new series adapts the LN straight up makes me think twice as to which show I should go for first.

t. Saotome, Scarecrow, Mo Murder, Kentarou

Attached: saotome_.jpg (1280x720, 400K)

Not that guy but Phantom isn't the original and expects you to already be familiar with the characters since it's set after the events of the first light novel.

Just watch this and go to Phantom if you want but Phantom is totally optional.

>Phantom isn't the original and expects you to already be familiar with the characters since it's set after the events of the first light novel.
I mean as a show that was chronologically released, since I recognize it was an original story supposedly set in between the first two LNs. Though from the sounds if it, it pays to know about the characters first so I'll put that into consideration.

The girl with the blonde hair and her tips dyed pink, was she suppose to be reminiscent of Marvel's "Gwenpool?" Does she return to life later or is she really dead?

>Does she return to life later or is she really dead?
dead

I don't think it really matters. They showed Boogiepop Phantom in the U.S. on TechTV alongside Serial Experiments Lain and Silent Mobius (I think that was what that show was called). If you were in middle school or high school and got to see Boogiepop Phantoms, which was pretty cool back then, then that's great. The new series can be watched on it's own, or at least that's how I think it is. The new series to me seems more action packed and kinetic. I never read the light novels, just speaking as some dude who watched anime on television and now watches it streaming online.

Boogiepop Phantom is a spin off that is set after the first volume/arc. The new anime is an adaptation for the first six volumes with 4 being skipped. Start with the new anime first or just read the LN then Phantom.

>Boogiepop Almighty: Dizzy Misses Lizzy

>Boogie Pop latest issue! The struggle with Imaginator, the secret behind it.

Is she actually an artificial rival subconsciously created by Toukas chuuni powers?

Suiko can't be killed. Even after her body died her essence still lingers. And no, she would won't be fulfilled until her goal is achieved, until someone manages to "break through."

No, she just temprorarily retreated to find a new pawn. She made quite a few appearances throughout the series.

touka carries the boogiepop gear with her at all times and still doesn't figure out something might be afoot?
And she knew about her Shizophrenia in Middle School but acts oblivious to it in high school?
Either the Season description is misleading, or Toukas gormless look hides more than she lets on

Also I think the OP plays into that, she gets startled when seeing Boogie, though she should be physically incapable of watchinf boogie do stuff, this means to me that whenever she gets a glimpse of Boogiepop in any way she actually recognizes it for what it is, and is probably afraid of the implications.
She would also not see glimpses of Boogiepop literally, but more likely the signs of Boogiepop passing through.

I also think the symbolism of Touka sitting infront of the train after seeing Boogie, but Boogie stepping in means that Touka regularily witnesses Boogiepop, but Boogiepop is able to prevent the onrushing realization by Blocking her memory and wiping it, like stopping a train that is about to hit her with all the emotional impact.
The scene in the water to me shows a desire by Touka to reunite and reconcile with her split personality.

>touka carries the boogiepop gear with her at all times and still doesn't figure out something might be afoot?
The novel says Touka herself erases her memories because she doesn't want Boogie's activities to fuck with her normal life. So it's not like she's no aware of what is going on. She just refuses to acknowledge it to protect her normalcy.

what does the scene of touka kneeling infront of the mirror mean?

No idea. That scene is anime-original.

Takeda was thinking the same thing. Even at the end of the Manticore arc, part of him is still convinced that Boogie is just a delusional autist.

Though many lnfags complain about her new design, I personally like it better than the original.

Any of you book fags remember a part from At Dawn where Nagi intervenes in some dudes plot to spike baby formula or some shit. Cant remember the details fully, but it's weird the show didnt bother with that plot thread.

Is kisugi-sensei categorized as a mpls? or a synthetic human?

I'm actually glad they changed the LN designs because majority of them looks like the same.

Oh in that case floofy toliet-chan is a definite improvement.

Im hitting 30 soon, do you think Nagi would have interest in me?

Depends. How fat and ugly are you? Any excess body hair? Shower irregularly?

Have you ever been synthesized by some kind of mysterious organization?

Touka is quite hot. Not enough fanservice though. Shame.

Agree with you, but as for nagi, I prefer the original design. The new one looks a little bit childish.

>I'm Panic Cute. My job is to spread confusion and fear among people, and then reassure them and stabilize society. I thought it was a choir because humans can only act based on their immediate emotions, but there seems to be a strange guy, a shinigami who appears at the most beautiful moment in life, who seems to have the potential to shake this rule. I liked it mainly because I get to hear Boogiepop's pure sex voice for more than 10 minutes.

The first Episode gets better in hindsight, when you come back after the first arc and watch it again, or even better after watching the first season.
A lot of things make way more sense, and it actually becomes really sweet, because you essentially see Keijis side of things, and while he doesn't really know or understand what's going on with his girlfriend, but still trusts her and "befriends" her alter ego.
