Now I can tell something silly because I did research long time ago and I could forget something but as far as I recall ants have 3 types of 'gender':
1) Female ( queen )
2) Male ( do-nothing, only live to impregnate queens )
3) Worker/Soldier ( Unable to procreate. Sometimes can develop sexual organs and become a queen if the previous one dies )
As royal guard Pitou classifies to Worker/Soldier class thus she/it cannot be male.
