About to start Video Girl Ai
Is it worth it though...?
Not anything presently. Maybe I'll pop on some Dirty Pair. Just kind of too lazy to do anything but shit post today.
I can't decide between watching some more full tv shows or checking out some short ovas.
outlaw star
Recently watched Gundam F91 and about to start 0083.
I also tried to watch the original Cutie Honey but had to give up after a few episodes.
I like to spread things around myself. A short OVA is a nice breather between a long show.
Akira, to remember the golden age of anime
you at least get to see her breasts
what anime is this
outlaw star is really good.
GANBASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Those Who Hunt Elves, because I've already watched Escaflowne and Fushigi Yuugi, but am on a pre-2000s isekai kick. I'm watching Twelve Kingdoms too, but the anime is '02.
Have you seen El Hazard and Rayearth?
Also Now and Then, Here and There.
Escaflowne is bad.
Holy fuck, NTHT. That will really make you look at the genre in new light.
Why? It's just another bad isekai to add to the pile.
starting pic related. well i started a couple days ago
In terms of characters and writing definitely. Visuals and soundtrack are amazing though. Also Fushigi Yuugi is even worse.
No it's quite good it's just..heavy
Yeah cool of them to include shit like rape and child slavery but then just trample over the tone by having a power of not giving up and friendship mc who spouts shit for the whole show.
Which release of Nube is that? The one with HK subs or is there something better now?
Oh man, I remember really liking Escaflowne back in the day but I haven't seen it for 20 years...did it not age well? Or did I just have shit taste when I was 13?
Yeah and he gets his shit slapped for it.
Madoka is cool.
Rewatching YuYu Hakusho, then will probably watch Riding Bean
and keeps doing it anyway and then it works and they all live happily ever after except the girl who got raped who he forced to keep the baby because all human life is precious and you cant waste it keep the damn baby bitch im the faggot mc!!!!!!! ima soko is trash and uve shit taste if u like it
You were 13. Character motivations are inscrutable. All the neat sci-fi/fantasy ideas are squandered by awful characters.
I just got Bubblegum Crisis on bluray in the mail today. I've never seen it, so it'll be interesting to finally experience it. Though, considering the last shows I watched were Dirty Pair and Jungle de Ikou, I'm sure this Boomer anime will be more than a little sobering in tone.
>and keeps doing it anyway and then it works and they all live happily
No. No they don't. It ends with him sad and alone.
thank you friend.
Watching and enjoying the original Gundam, it's a lot different and better than what I thought it would be like since I usually can't stand pre-1980s mecha.
Leotards are so sexy now. It never seemed to be when I was younger.
probably rewatching Tylor soon after I finish up LoGH after multiple attempts to finish it (always ended up dropping it after the season he dies)
>Upscaled BD's
why must we suffer?
Been slowly working through Maicching Machiko Sensei. They don't make anime like THIS any more.
What?
>bubblegun crisis
>boomer
I'm not sure if you did that on purpose.
>enjoying the original Gundam
Me too. I just finished episode 20, what a mess. Bright keeps making the wrong decisions regarding the crew.
rose of versaille, lupin the third, and yatsura
Actually, I'm pretty sure that she loses the baby, water girl died, most of the kids died, and MC finally breaks down and actually tries to beat the main villain to death. MCs crush ends up okay but MC is broken and alone at the end.
What's up with Japan and flat jokes with children? That's fucking weird.
>episode 21
Holy shit
Episode 21 is the episode where you realize...
...that Bright is fucking DEAF.
>on-topic
Is Crest of the Stars (1999) worth it?
>off-topic
Is Banner of the Stars (2000) worth it?
i think anything w/ blue haired elf girls is worth it
Crest is great, Banner 1 and 2 are mediocre, and Banner 3 is great.
Thanks user, gave me a good laugh after some tears
Crest/Banner is getting re-released in a nice hardcover next year. I'm watching Betterman at the moment, I'm liking it but it is way too formulaic and things have finally gotten interesting after the India episode.
And how do you feel about the fact that seatbelts don't exist in the future?
Oh, and apparently there's only one toilet on the entire White Base!?
where is it listed? I can't seem to find it
Up to episode 37 of ZZ, Bright just left the kids on their own and sent them off to do war on a brand new space ship probably because he wants to cheat on his wife in private, and the show decided a good way to break the news that Leina is alive was in a fucking episode preview
Or that it has a random latter with no bottom rung that runs straight into the ceiling.
Thank you. I'll prioritize Crest but save Banner for a rainy day.
Look at this cute wife in a spacesuit. Doesn't she make you want to put down the ZZ and do something better with your life?
Galaxy Express 999. I like it so far.
SORROW
THE TREMBLING SORROW
Who did Kawakubo voice in LOGH? I'm not finding a credit.
Enjoy and don't rush it.
This is the face of a man who is jumping onto White Base.
On the topics of Gundam and LoGH, imagine my surprise when I realized that M'Quve is voiced by Paul von Oberstein.
just started irresponsible captain tylor, and it's looking good so far
My final shitpost for tonight is a reminder that Mirai is Best Girl, and Spacesuit Mirai is her ultimate form. Look at how soft and cuddly she is. I want to hug this squishy formless blob gently.
I recommend watching Layzner. Oberstein and Rubinsky's seiyuus are father and son in that and the villains.
Fuck, should I drop the sub and watch the dub?
I just tried to investigate this factoid, and instead my mind was blown when I discovered that Adrian Rubinsky is voiced by Daisuke Jigen.
Princess Nine.
This anime is the shit. Baseball show with an all-female team. Typical cast of "Oh she practices Judo so she'll be great for our catcher!" and "The tomboy from Shikoku practices swinging a fishing pole so she can hit really well!" kinda stuff, but damn it all if the characters ain't likable. Might be the first sports anime I manage to make it through.
Kaneto Shiozawa was in fucking everything in the 1980s and 1990s. Then he died from falling down the stairs and landing on his head.
Last time I checked Boruto didn't air before the year 2000. Naruto didn't even air before the year 2000. Read the topic of the thread next time dingus.
it's a joke
>I was super wet for your dad. Like seriously super crazy wet. Just talking about him right now is making my panties look like Niagra falls. Anyways just thought you should know.
Watching a shit ton of Urusei Yatsura. Most of the episodes are throw aways but many of them have strange experimental animation segments that I like.
Make webms, user
>throw away
How can you throw away time spent with Lum, user?
anime?
Youve become a degenerate lecherous old man just like in the anime you watch
1998 Trigun series.
When do I earn my faceless fat man status?
Bright is way in over his, just like the rest of the crew. You got to remember that he was a fresh 19-year-old Ensign at the start of the series, suddenly placed in charge of a ragtag crew filled with civilians and the most powerful warship of the Federation.
Poor man’s Bebop desu
the dub is fairly decent
Sword Art Online
That remix is so dope ;_;7
No pre 2000 sadly but after you finish that might want to give it a look anyway
Only the highest level of wizards graduate on to become faceless fat men.
It's 3 months too late for the pre-2000s deadline but I saw The Puppet Princess (Karakuri no Kimi) recently and it was fucking awesome. Just some good old shinobi action mixed with Fujita puppets, and the big bad is a Karakuri cyborg. Highly recommend to anyone who likes Fujita's stuff.
Oh, and the male lead is of course voiced by Norio Wakamoto.
I am also watching an Isekai.
looks pretty neat I'll be sure to check it out!
Giving Zeta Gundam another try cause I had it on hold for a while.
>Puppet Princess
I used to see this marketed along side Ninja Scroll a lot at my video place. Never got it though.
Everyone dies.
That's like telling me it was his sled. Nigga everyone knows.
>Whatcha Watchin?
Ginga Nagareboshi Gin
Sora Yori & Kaguya-sama. I've hit a weird point where I'm kind of sick of following on-going shows and would rather wait till the end of seasons to marathon them once the fansubs with all the fancy-pants type-setting and attention to detail. Reminds me of the good ol' days and also helps me enjoy shows better. Getting off the recency trends/zeitgeist conversations train is a lot healthier than I expected.
>Sora Yori & Kaguya-sama
Are not pre 2000s you fucking moron.
>pre-2000 anime
>Sora Yori & Kaguya-sama
user...
>getting off the recency trends/zeitgeist conversations train is a lot healthier than I expected
Of course it is. Watch Gundam with us.
I missed the thread title, only saw "whatchu watchin"
the devilman OVAs are masterpieces
Amuro, Amuro...
Does watching Turn-A Gundam count?
fucking moron.
baka newfag
Watching Irresponsible captain Tylor , it's really great. I fear the moment I finish the show. I'll probably watch the OVAs too even though I was told to skip it. Any other shows like Tylor? I'm also planning to watch Mirai keisatsu urashiman
oruchuban ebichu is underrated and the true gainax masterpiece
I'm considering watching Chargeman Ken. Seems like a great show to laugh at, and I've always enjoyed the otomads of it.
Piledriver? Nigga that's straight up Izuna Drop.
some episodes are funny
>Apr 9, 1999
sure
Easily the best comedy anime I have ever seen.
I think that's the ep where Gin gets pinned down like a person in a way that would break a dog's shoulders. Can't blame them when the dogs have obvious pecs.

I would have gone for the Mars model
Kamille best girl
learn to read
Watch Ginguiser too. It's a QUALITY mecha series featuring a team of magicians.
Are Takahashis stuff worth watching?
I.e Layzner, Votoms and Dougram?
I just realized that the OP 30 seconds in:
youtu.be
sounds similar to the singing at the start of Zeppelin's Immigrant Song:
youtube.com
I watched the Sol Bianca OVA. It was bad.
Also finished Brigadoon. It was okay, but never quite clicked with me. The romance was weird. It's like they had a vague knowledge of the "she's actually a 1000 year old dragon" trope, but they screwed it up and said it about the wrong character.
Don't know what I'll see next, currently focusing on more recent anime. Began watching Aishite Knight, and what little I've seen has been pretty good so far.
A masterpiece
Yeah it's great.
More people need to watch Princess Nine. One of the best parts is the eyes of the main character.
the blurays were upscales worse looking than Judgement's 10 bit release.

How are After war Gundam X and Vifam both are next on my backlog?
About Gunbuster is it easier to appreciate if you've seen Dazaki's work which it parodies or is it mainly like cause the ending?
it's not,I watched it thinking it'd be it's so bad it's good, it was just it's so bad and not even funny.
Gundam X is one of my favorites. Garrod and Tiffa are cute.
I'm really tired and I have to stay awake for another 6-8 hours today. Got any cool/flashy OVAs that will hold my attention and keep me awake, yet aren't so great that it feels like a waste to watch them in this state?
Dangaioh. It's extremely well animated and flashy, but the plot and characters are non-existent
Sounds perfect, thanks user.
Ruin Explorers is a fun 4 episode fantasy OVA. I like to rewatch it every now and again when I want to get my DnD buzz.
Nadesico is better than I thought it would be, and I had reasonably high expectations.
RIP Dai ;_;7
>tfw the trolls post is the only post that can actually be considered to be one; the rest are mere tweets
What a state of affairs.
It's just good, man. The ending is the best part but the whole thing (except maybe episode 1) is good.
That's GAI!
Anime needs more Samurai yuri

Still watching Heidi and LOGH
I might drop Heidi because I'm finding the Frankfurt arc extremely boring, which is a shame because I was enjoying the anime before this.
LOGH I got lost so I need to start from the beginning again
I don't think so. I say this because I have seen that anime.
I'm 7 eps into Space Runaway Ideon and I feel things are only going to keep getting worse for everyone in the show
