In retrospect: who else could’ve it been? The way his transparency worked clearly mirrored Kakashis Kamui.

Everyone else would have been better pick storywise. Hell, even Sasuke from the future.

Nobody else would have worked.

shisui

>thinks Obito worked
cute

Was literally obvious the moment they showed Tobi had a Sharingan and Obito's 'death' was shown. Same eye side , similar names.

>Same hair.
>Sharingan was on the side that wasn't removed.
>Mask was the same color as Obito's goggles.
>Had the same fucking MS ability as Kakashi.
>Tobi, Obito, Obitobi, Tobito.
>Kishmoto said Kakashi would get more spotlight just before the war.

It would be bullshit if he wasn't. Kishimoto put too much for it to be a red herring.

Obito didn’t work. He was one of the kindest characters in the series and then became a sadistic mass murdering psychopath through the death of his waifu.

Even though, say, Itachi, still fought on the good side after having far worse stuff happening to him (having to kill his family and waifu himself) and refused to subscribe to Akatsukis goals.

And even Zabuza was shown to have a human side after being raised as a killing machine.

It shouldn’t have been Obito precisely because it was too obvious to be true.

When I was 14, my 12 yo old friend came up with the Tobito theory after reading the manga. I shit you not.

People need to ackknowedge the fact if it was somebody like Shisui, Kagami, or Madara's brother, Izuna; The cast would have no idea who the fuck those niggas are when the mask comes off. Tobi was supposed to be a big reveal not just for the reader, but for the characters. Obito was the most connected to the story and characters. He was Kakashi's teammate, and Kakashi held onto his ideals and past it on to his students - Naruto taking it closely to heart, he was the student of Naruto's father, the 4th Hokage, and Obito also worked as a dark reflection of Naruto of what he could have been if he fell into darkness.

What the fuck would anyone else besides Obito would deliver to the characters and story that strongly while making sense to be Tobi?

He should’ve died as a nobody, a mystery, like the antagonist of 20th Century Boys

Are you upset that a little kid outsmarted you with the story?

The problem was not the reveal being obvious as fuck, it was that Obito was Tobi in the first place. The reveal retroactively shits on all prior versions of Obito, from his kid version showing that he never really gave a fuck about the village and being a kind person and was ultimately just another crazy Uchiha, to Tobi as it's incredibly jarring to imagine him actually behaving like that, and then as Madara, as it turned him from a pretty awesome villain with a lot of hype and prowess to a sniveling lolicon manchild. It could've worked if Kishi wasn't a hack and actually came up with a good reason for his 180 personality shifts but he just copied Nagato but made it 10x less sympathetic.

You can't have someone prance around as Madara and cause most of the problems in the setting without revealing their identity. Tobi being left unknown would have pissed so many people off.

The reveal could not have necessarily been something for the characters to react. It was orchestrated like that because Kishimoto decided he would pander to fans and it would be Obito.

And I'd be ok with that. It would be better than ObiTobi.

Imagine Tobi being not Obito, but some lesser known Uchiha with no background or connections to the main cast.

>*Tobi takes off mask*
>Everyone: Huh?
>Tobi: Yeah, im actually that guy who was once mentioned in chapter 252, page 6, panel 5!
>Everyone: Ah. Okay. Interesting.

From the moment Tobi was introduced as a character, he was intended to be Obito and no one else.

That’s why we got Kakashi Garden as interlude before Shippūden. That’s why Kakashi awakened a dimension jutsu in his MS.

The whole war arc was a huge mistake.

None of the other candidates would have made the same amount of impact as Obito. It was either him or Madara made some convoluted, monstrous clone of himself that gained a mind of its own.

Shisui, Kagami, or Izuna wouldn't have done anything. And Future!Sasuke would be just silly even for Naruto.

Even if this was 100% true, it doesn't excuse the poor writing of Obito's character. But I guess he is a cool guy in the eyes of Narutards.

Focusing on stupid emotional impact and not on whether it made sense or not was a great mistake.

Kishimoto probably tried to throw people off with the Madara stuff when people immediately guessed Tobi was Obito when he first appeared. Tobi was definitely going to be Obito, no questions asked. The only thing I wonder about is if Madara was supposed to be as crucial to the story like he turned out to be or did Kishimoto thought he would be a cool idea after trying to smokescreen Obitobi.

Better to have one thing work out rather than to have neither.

this, anyone else is retarded. You have to be some 5 year old downie to not have noticed the eye in the side opposite to Kakashi

Mad about what? It was the most obvious shit in existence

I would be mad too if I was such a fucking brainlet that I couldn't figure it out. My teenage forum-posting self used to roll his eyes seeing these retards who couldn't understand it.This shit seriously baffles me, how people who were wrong about stuff like this don't feel just the ultimate, unbearable shame. Shame so strong they stop giving opinions or predictions about anything since they're so fucking stupid. There's a bunch of other examples, and in every case you have this large retarded contingent desperately holding on to their retarded theory. Sabo being dead in One Piece is another retard filter. What happens to these people after? Do they actually feel this shame and stop posting? Do they just pretend it never happened. There's probably retards out there, hell there might be a couple in this thread, might even be some reading this post RIGHT NOW who were seriously wrong about both of these. Personally I would kill myself out of shame but to each their own. I imagine the next step in their evolution is being proven wrong that Mihawk is stronger than Shanks or that SK is future Guts (lets be honest, we'll never see endgame Berserk for these ultra mongoloids to be proven wrong)

You know what's the part that irks me about this? How in the Obito flashback Kishi made an almost decent excuse for the first Tobi personality, which is the part that fucks with the entire reveal, and then didn't actually use it. He could have made it that Obito was left badly wounded and had to spent most of his time healing inside the Spiral Zetsu or had to merge with it or something, but it's just left as a vague "hey remember his first Tobi mask and dumb personality? He based them on this dude for no particular reason"

I loved the reaction.

Attached: hqdefault (4).jpg (480x360, 11K)

OP got found out, sage, move on

Obito was one of my favorite characters until this happened. I still like his character design though.

It made no sense because of Obito's character.

Obito as a child, as Tobi, or as "Madara"?

But he was the coolest guy, user.

Why was Tobi pretending to be retarded when he was introduced? Just for fun?

The unmasked Tobi seemed far too bitter and busy and had zero sense of humor.

It was the opposite for me. I liked how such a noble character got warped into a complete psychopath.

Him killing Konan was some major bullshit.

>When I was 14, my 12 yo old friend came up with the Tobito theory after reading the manga. I shit you not.
Do you not know what Naruto target audience is?

He copied the personality from a Zetsu that was called Tobi.

That part killed me. Naruto admiring the killer of his parents and tens of thousands of innocents.

Such lazy shit writing.

>When I was 14, my 12 yo old friend came up with the Tobito theory after reading the manga. I shit you not.
this, OP is just a narutard reddit visitor who got ass lasted because he got outsmarted by literal infants

As usual the mangaka planned something but didn't know how to do it.

No waifus are allowed to live while his is dead. That's why he killed Kushina, too.

based King Crimson.
But you are retarded since Izanagi was a thing since Danzo

The Kaguya arc was still the worst shitshow, only redeemed by the final fight.

Because Naruto was admiring the Obito he was and the Obito within instead of the Obito Madara created.

I mean, he did help them against Madara and helped them defeat Kaguya. It's not like he simply said sorry and died without doing anything for Naruto to compliment him.

Yeah, it absolutely was. I fear that the whole aliens stuff was only introduced so that Boruto can introduce dozens of alien villains.

If Madara were the ultimate evil, everything would’ve ended with his death.

I bet Pain/Akatsuki Leader was supposed to be Minato like everyone immediately guessed too, but Kishimoto actually backed out on that one and kept Obitobi for the sake of keeping his emotional vision alive. It's still kinda strange how Pain was this random student of Jiraiya nobody heard of when Minato was more well known to the reader to be taught by him.

It still doesn't because Tobi is the shittiest goof character that overlord Obito would never LARP as.

I'd swap Minato as AL with Obito as Tobi in a heartbeat

>I bet Pain/Akatsuki Leader was supposed to be Minato like everyone immediately guessed too
Wait what? When? I missed this part altogether

But Minato was confirmed dead, as Orochimaru almost summoned him with the other two Kage

Yeah, it's kinda obvious that Kaguya and the Otsutsuki were introduced because a sequel was pitched. That's why Hagoromo suddenly had a brother so The Last could have a connection to the main story.

damn, I remember shitstorms. It was glorious. It was a great time to be part of a fandom. So no matter how shit it was, it still left a nice memory.

>Not having both.
Minato being the Akatsuki Leader would have had Obito's turn to the dark side believable to the readers since Minato was his sensei. Minato could have corrupted him or something because he wanted an Uchiha on his side before Itachi came into the equation.

I don't think Minato's casket was summoned at all in the manga.

Ok, ok, you sold me... a bit.

>A few Naruto forums shut down temperately because of traffic and the influx of "TOLD YOU SO, FAGGOTS!" from users.
>A legion of people proclaiming they were done with Naruto even though it was obvious they didn't mean it.
>Loads of denial, people coming up with theories that it was just a Genjutsu, or Obito's body was possessed by a "part" of Madara's soul, or a refined Edo Tensei, or it was just a clone of Obito, ANYTHING but the actual Obito.
>A few mentally unstable people losing their minds, and one guy contemplating killing himself.

It was a wild ride.

Minato being revealed as Akatsuki leader would’ve been plain bullshit. Fanfiction-tier writing.

Let’s start with the ridiculous implication that he staged the whole Kyubi attack on Konoha for some reason, then his death for some reason, then sealed the Kyubi in his son for some reason, even though he knew he needs it for Akatsukis goal.

Naruto fans that night

pre 2007 Naruto
>Kisihimoto planned Tobi to be Obito, also being Pain's pawn
>Madara just a legend to expand mangekyo, nothing more
> no 10 tails or moon eye plot
>Pain arc was final.
2008-2010 Naruto
>Tobi got changed to Madara
>10 tails and moon eye introduced
>Sasuke was gonna be evil till the end of the war and kill part of Konoha 11 while also betraying Madara
>Naruto vs Sasuke would've ended tragically
>no Kaguya or anything about Hagoromo's lineage/origins
2011-2013 Naruto
>Tobi became Obito again
>Real Madara is introduced and has huge role
>Lot's of awkward plot holes start to appear
>Orochimaru returns
>Sasuke rewritten into an anti hero that wants to lead Konoha, despite his villainous actions at the 5 kage summit
>Kaguya is mentioned as a legend and the Shinju tree is introduced
2014 final year of Naruto
>Madara gets made too OP, to the point where Kisihimoto has no idea how to defeat him aside from a bs move later on
>Hagoromo appears, his long running mistery is revealed
>Naruto and Sasuke have alien DNA and origins from Kaguya's mixed race descendants
>Naruto's hard work theme was for nothing, he now has a special lineage .

>Kaguya returns, no personality, just a dumb cow

>Kaguya cucked
>Naruto vs Sasuke fight gets casualized, dbz style. No one dies, due to Shonen Jump already jewing out a part 3 and Kishimoto being a worthless hack

Fuck this series, and fuck that mouth breathing inconsistent gook.

>then became a sadistic mass murdering psychopath through the death of his waifu.
He offered the Shinobi alliance to peacefully surrender multiple times.
How is that sadistic?

I called that shit like a year or more ahead of the reveal. It was kinda obvious

Obito didn't care about Kakashi killing Rin but cared about Kiri doing it, so he somehow put Jinchuuriki Mizukage under a genjutsu for x years, so Kishimoto could assassinate Obito's character with Bloody Mist terror for some reason. Obito attacked Konoha for some reason. He put paper bombs on his sensei's newborn boy for some reason. Orchestrated demise of Fourth Hokage and his wife for some reason. Helped Sasuke for some reason after Itachi fight. Helped kill Uchiha clan for some reason. Larped as a gook for some reason. I could go on and on

Source for the original ending

You wrote that beautifully, not sure if it's a pasta but it doesn't matter. All that matters is that I am sadface now

Tobi being a Naruto from an alternate universe made more sense than Obito doing all that shit from age 14.
Becoming a villain and almost destroying the world just because your crush died ? Pain and Madara's reasons for their actions made sense. Obito is just a desperate cheap westaboo tactic Kisihimoto used just to expand his manga for a few more years, while fucking up all the established plot points.

Obito,
loses his left eye sharingan,
you take off the first O in Obito,
Tobi

There were even account removal bets on NF. It was hilarious.

In his mind the Infinite Tsukuyomi would give everyone a happy end. So he wasn't a villain in his own eyes.

Oh I don't know, maybe he attacked bombs to infant or something

Attached: naruto-1430015.jpg (800x1148, 165K)

Thanks for the spoil, asshat.

Only a year?

I too am mad. I thought it was this asshole Uchiha.

Attached: 1522455534178.jpg (800x1158, 107K)

He didn't care about innocent people dying but that's not sadistic that is beeing a sociopath.

Kishi had to to do wonky retcons to the past to make his series work

Teenage obito being on par with Minato

Itachi not being evil and receiving help from tobi for the massacre

>Madara is too OP
>Gets replaced by Kaguya, who is immediately stated to be more powerfull than Madara
I never understood this

He fapped when Sasuke stabbed Karin with his chidori

Attached: naruto-1181489.jpg (1200x890, 136K)

It broke him

And that was the point when he stopped taking Naruto seriously as a story

I don't know, I think it would be pretty funny if:
>Minato, after years of planning, has Obito stage the attack on Kushina's pregnancy because of the seal weakening.
>Has Kushina chained up, wants Obito to control the fox when he rips it out of his wife so he can easily seal it inside of him and become it's Jinchuruki and continue his plans.
>They start, but Kurama breaks free from the control either because it was too powerful or Obito is a scrub on his first try doing this.
>Kurama is all pissed off and goes to attack the village and kill people.
>Oh FUCK!
>Both of them go on full damage control and Minato goes to to play hero and wrangle the fox back while he has Obito stay with his wife. (Who is completely devastated and pissed, by the way. Betrayal and all.)
>Summons Gamabunta, fights the fox, warps it back to where this shit started.
>Uses Reaper Death Seal while using Kushina as a sacrifice to seal it.
>Find out he can only seal half the fox within him because Kurama is that jacked with chakra.
>”Shit! OBITO, go teleport and get my newborn son! I'll seal the other half in him!”
>”Yes, sensei! Right away, sensei!”
>Obito gets Naruto and Minato seals the half within him.
>Gonna have to fake his death now, because this was a complete shitshow. This whole scene doesn't look good.
>Don't take Naruto because it would all look too suspicious and rising him would slow down the other stuff he has planned. Leaves Naruto in the hands of Hiruzen. The old man should treat him well until the day he comes back for his son (lol).

The Nine-Tails attack was the result of poor evil scheming.

*Raises hand* Same here. Made me half-drop the series; just read chapter summaries for the rest of the series until the final chapter.

I will never forgive Kishimoto for making the previously Crack Theory of Tobi being Obito come true. Kishimoto literally asspulled a BS retcon to make it come true. I definitely thought and preferred it was Madara's brother or Kagami like this user . This was further proof that Kishimoto reached a point of creative bankruptcy and was running on fumes at this point of the series. Obito should have stayed dead & retained his unique standing as the seemingly only good Uchiha.

Kaguya wasn't as tactical and battle-ready as Madara, despite being stronger than him.

underrated post

It's not even that he's Tobi,it's just REALLY unbelievable to me that this Stoic mass murderer would pretend to be a literal retard with deidara for no reason when no one was around.

I don't think Obito/Tobi was intended to be as important as he was, I think originally he was intended to be a small minor villain for Kakashi with ties to the Akatsuki. Which explains the gaidens weird placement in the story.

But then the Uchiha went batshit insane.

I would have been down for this. This is much better than what we actually got.

>Minato, after years of planning, has Obito stage the attack on Kushina's pregnancy because of the seal weakening.
>They start, but Kurama breaks free from the control either because it was too powerful or Obito is a scrub on his first try doing this.

>Uses Reaper Death Seal while using Kushina as a sacrifice to seal it.
>Gonna have to fake his death now, because this was a complete shitshow. This whole scene doesn't look good.

MY SIDES

Although, if Kishimoto decided AL was 4th early on, the "Kushina" flashback would go differently, maybe we wouldn't even get Kushina

>Tobi Introduced almost immediately after the Kakashi Gaiden
>HAHA NO WAY IT COULD BE THAT OBVIOUS
How naive we were to believe Kishimoto had talent in storytelling.

All of these things.

Madara is the perfect ninja with ultimate power. No matter what sneak attack you pull on him, he'll see through it with his years of experience and HAX abilities. Kaguya is just some almighty woman who never does anything and has no idea how to fight.

Tobi = Obito was clear as day. It was so clear, that it looped back into being doubtful. The infuriating part about Obito was his motives.

>Kishi's Uchihaboner ruined the series and cornered him into a retcon
oh, who would have thought

Attached: most based character in Nardo.jpg (400x400, 30K)

My hot take was Izuna but I feel you user, it felt like a betrayal

The problem with Izuna is that he would be relevant to no one but Madara. The only cool thing we would get is the two mighty Uchiha brothers fighting side-by-side, it wouldn't help the story.

I didn't feel the need for Tobi to be an acquaintance of other characters

Yeah, but most Naruto's villains usually have some kind of connection to the characters.

Tobi could have literately just been a tailed beast borrowing a corpse. Maybe one that's associated with the afterlife. Like maybe the two tailed beast
>A bakeneko (化け猫, monster cat) is a popular animal yōkai in Japanese folklore, and is known for its abilities to speak the human language and shape-shift. It was also believed that when a bakeneko reaches a certain age, it grows larger and its tail splits in two, becoming a nekomata (猫又, forked-cat). These yōkai were said to have gained the powers of necromancy, and had been associated with strange fires and other unexplainable occurrences. This may be related to Matatabi's nickname and its fire-breathing abilities.
It even has fire powers to match up with the Uchiha clan c'mon Kishimoto why did you have to trip over yourself so hard?

I used to hear theories about Tobi being the Ten-Tails.

I'd love to hear that theory

Teh only thing I'm mad about is naruot akkipuden, we'll never get to see that.

Attached: naruto-akkipuden.jpg (660x320, 54K)

Uzumaki Arashi!

I mean that'd be okay too. I can imagine it's like "Oh that's the real vessel they're putting all the tailed beasts into" or something. I used to think Naruto would eventually lose the Kyuubi all together because he was an incarnation of evil corrupting him and that he'd eventually find footing with his own power/hard earned skill, but fuck me look at that infinite chakra shit we got instead.

I legit thought Naruto vs. the Nine-Tails would be the final fight of the series when it gets removed from him.

The Uchiha were all a massive mistake.

While they certainly were, the fanbase loved them, unfortunately. They were basically the perfect baseline for some kid's oberpowered OCs to make and play with it.

I'm not it was a good tweest

Well, if you're willing to assume a few things like that the pool of mangekyo abilities available isn't infinite, that there could be any number of sharingan floating around in vats thanks to the likes of Danzo/Orochimaru, and that a transplant can go Mangekyo like with Kakashi, literally anyone. And pools of eyes excluded, someone like an Iwa ninja happening across Obito and finding his eye not crushed is no more miraculous than what actually happened.

And that's assuming it had to be Kamui. The neat thing about Tobi was that he didn't have to be an Uchiha even, just some rando strong person like Minato that has a sharingan for whatever reason. I know a lot of people would say that it wouldn't have been interesting to them, but Tobi's whole shtick of wanting to pretend to be Madara for the effect that it would have on the world, his identity be damned, was a pretty big thing. Considering Nardo's original ninja concept is supposed to be all about that stealth, discipline and purpose before personal wants, there was plenty for Kishimoto to do with that theme without it being a Scooby Doo unmasking. Thematically, having someone giving up everything down to their identity to live up to the pretense of an idolized ninja and actually struggling to come up with the power to do so (like Tobi showed a few times) be the final villain that gets defeated from unified trust and optimism would have been a lot more substantial than everyone being manipulated by ayyyyys

Attached: 1553632426411.jpg (701x442, 151K)

B-B-B--B-B-B-But is a cool guy!!!!!!!!

Only in its explanation was it similar to some extent but we never knew the full mechanics of it until it was thoroughly explained the chapter before. His regular transportation was but considering how easy it is to plug and play an Uchiha eye it's not hard to believe it could've been Madara as he previously said.

Yes, Obito is a loser but Izuna was an even bigger loser. He should have been Tobi.

It's the fact that it's so stupidly obvious for all those reasons that we didn't want it to be true. It's literally like a 5 year old downie wrote it. Hurr has the same hair!! other eye! and he likes the color orange!! and his name his name is only a little different!!!!

I remember the theories got so crazy, some even theorized it was a psychotic Rin that stole Obito's other eye from his corpse.

All of those things is what made it a Crack Theory; it was not that it was so obvious, but those things at the time were only superficial and there was nothing of substance based in canon to make to theory plausible.

ObiTobi name plaything legitimately sounded like a retard logic. Hell, it sounds to this day too

Hinata survived though

She was lucky Neji sacrificed his life for her.

He died for that ship. Disgraceful.

Actually there was some kind of sympathy for obito theory in spite of it being too obvious but innumerous plot holes made it quite impossible to be feasible.

Neji was the real waifu.

this is how you deal with a faggot villain narutards
you need to be banned again

Attached: 14.png (907x1300, 373K)

>Uh, don't compare this to Naruto!
>THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT NARUTARDS LET ME COMPARE IT FOR YOU
I know you're shitposting but fuck off.

I cried when Madara died

>Thematically, having someone giving up everything down to their identity to live up to the pretense of an idolized ninja and actually struggling to come up with the power to do so (like Tobi showed a few times) be the final villain that gets defeated from unified trust and optimism
>you will never live in a world where Kaguya only existed in legend, Madara didn't resurrect himself and his Edo Tensei was beaten by the Edo Tensei Hokage and all the current Kages combining their forces, and Tobi was the final villain, his true identity left completely open
Even the page in the OP could be literally any Uchiha if it wasn't explicitly stated he was Obito.

>Jiraiya never told you what happened to your father.
>He told me enough. He told me you killed him.
>No Naruto, I am your father.

Even if Minato being the Akatsuki leader fixes your Tobi /Obito hurdle, it raises more questions than answers.

>When and why did he create the Akatsuki
>Why did he attain the hokage position
>How did he maintain the 4th hokage and Akatsuki leader position simultaneously
>Whats his connection to Madara and the infinite tsukuyomi

>ARRU UCHIHA ROOK ZA SAMEU
That's racist, and we have no tolerance for bigots here.

there is a difference retard. you shitters were calling clover a rip-off, he is comparing the quality of the writing of each. this is why you should be banned

I would have forgave it all if the Sexy no Jutsu is what defeated Kaguya.
Though the powerlevel fags would have had an aneurysm

Those 4 questions could not possibly have been answered in 700 manga chapters.

God do you not have another thread to shit up? I just want to make fun of Naruto's writing. Not have to constantly see your ilk wank over Black Clover. Let me indulge in my guilty pleasure without you talking about one of the three manga you actually ready.

So it would have acted as an end of series retard filter?
The final boss being a total unknown that completely embodied the "true" ninja way of being a callous nobody with no regard for self being used as a weapon to wage war being beaten by Naruto whose idea of a ninja was the exact opposite would have fit better thematically.

he better not be jiraiya's son that came from some random woman and never contact him until he was dead and decided go against konoha

i rather have him to be a jiraiya clone or some parallel dimension jiraiya or some shit like that

Attached: kashinkoji.jpg (799x449, 69K)

>When and why did he create the Akatsuki
Probably the same as the canon leaders. To gather the Tailed-Beasts to further their goals since they are giant, living nukes.

>>Why did he attain the hokage position
Minato was an incredibly talented shinobi and that would make anyone a candidate for Hokage. The position also grants your access to a bunch of intel on the village, pretty much perfect for someone with an agenda.

>>How did he maintain the 4th hokage and Akatsuki leader position simultaneously
Akatsuki would have been something AFTER the Nine-Tails Attack once faking his death.

>>Whats his connection to Madara and the infinite tsukuyomi
If Minato was the villain, that may be scrapped altogether or he is just another puppet of Madara.

> Minato and Obito staged their fight in the middle of nowhere just in case somebody was watching

what about the actual Jiraiya?

No, this nigga needs to be J-man's son. I want one of the antagonists to be the result of a one-night stand without a condom or Birth Control no Jutsu.

Madara

Had to cover all their bases.

Honestly, I wonder what would be the absolute state of Kakashi if both his teammate AND sensei that he thought were long dead revealed themselves to be villainous masterminds.

i doubt kodachi can pull that unless kishi helps with the retcon.

>no argument
concession accepted narushitter
>one of the three manga you actually ready
absolutely seething. another reason why you should be banned

Attached: hmmmm.png (368x357, 44K)

>Why did he attain the hokage position
Something something ancient ninja scrolls crucial to his real plans

He would be ok, they are cool guys after all

It would tie well with the Itachi speech about living in illusion

Him being the actual Jiraiya would be the worse thing. Not only would it be a knockoff of Obitobi, it would also ruin Jiraiya's death and his character because Obito was a child that was influenced by a negative adult figure, Jiraiya is too old to flip on his beliefs.

It's gonna be this. I don't want it to be, trust me, but they've already set the precedent.

Attached: 1554736180612.png (657x729, 256K)

It could have been Kino

Attached: 1449246578233.gif (600x244, 1.85M)

Literally everyone smart guessed it was Obito but was shouted down because that result was too obvious.

>spoiler
Fuck you.

can't wait for the next obito

Attached: dabi.jpg (500x455, 97K)

Can't wait for the Todoroki Gaiden.

Are Minato's teammates have any relevance in the story?

Some people say the ramen shop-owner is the plump kid.

That one actually makes sense though. There's no personality clash or need for nonsensical motives, that family has consistently had a shitty father and a bunch of children with daddy issues. It's just as obvious as the Obito twist but it will probably be less dumb.

You missed the biggest problem.
Minato was an even bigger mary sue, than Naruto. How do you retcon him into being evil all along?

Only slightly related, but you know Naruto's power system is hilariously bad when a fireball takes like 5 hand signs, making 1000+ clones of yourself takes one, and teleporting to anything you've touched before doesn't even require one and might as well cost you nothing energy wise

It wouldn't have been so bad if he wasn't part of the endgame trinity of bad guys alongside Madara and Kaguya. He would have worked well as Kakashi's sole rival in the war, further proving Obito's point wrong about Naruto not having friends/support.

Naruto past the Hidden Mist was a mistake.

Naruto was a mistake

Honestly should've seen the problems when Kishi killed Sasori off so soon.
Or how he made the Jinchuriki/bijuu job to the Akatsuki only to wank them back up for the war.

naruto past part 2 was a mistake

>It's the fact that it's so stupidly obvious for all those reasons that we didn't want it to be true
I remember as soon as we saw he had the Sharingan I suspected it was him. I then quickly dismissed the theory, thinking it was way too obvious to be true. Alas...

TOBITOBITOBITO...

Is she going to win the burrito bowl?

Attached: 1547658320443.jpg (1200x859, 180K)

The tailed beasts becoming misunderstood friendly furry pals was friggin weird. It's like his editors goaded Kishi into doing that so they could market tailed beast beanie babies.

"Because you let Rin die" was even better.

The best is Naruto forgiving him and saying "Yeah, no, he was the coolest, actually." and then Obito gets to spend the afterlife with his waifu, who was apparently impressed that he killed so many people for her.

>When and why did he create the Akatsuki
>Whats his connection to Madara and the infinite tsukuyomi
During the third ninja war where he killed most of Iwa's military he felt guilty for all the death and destruction he caused and became disillusion with the shinobi system, at that point madara approach him and told him of his plan
>Why did he attain the hokage position
To gather intel on one of the major shinobi villages
>>How did he maintain the 4th hokage and Akatsuki leader position simultaneously
Pain did that with Amegakure, no reason minato wouldnt be able to handle the both jobs.

Something like that would have made some sense

Halfway thru the Kage summit arc i smelled the series going to shit. Years later, i was proven right.

I knew it the minute the "war" was just a battle with everyone against plants and zombies.

who else couldve it been

How long did it take for Kishimoto to reveal the boring obvious? 5 years?

Kishimoto fucked up focusing so much on Rin through that. Mostly everything Obito related is a mess, "coolest guy" especially, but Kishi had something relatively okay through all of that. He was the only one of the villains to make a meaningful sacrifice of his own volition before needing any sort of redemption. He was going out as a hero for someone who wasn't even kind to him solely because he thought it was the right thing to do, and systematically had that taken back from him, mangled, and thrown back in his face, all under the pretense of it just being how the universe worked. The focus on Rin muddles things, but it made perfect sense that his sense of morality and concern for the world got fucked up from that. From his perspective, any sense of goodwill he had got dicked over in some act of divine comedy.

Not that Obito should have been alive to be the villain in the first place, but downplay the Rin bit and his story isn't completely devoid of merit.

We don't need a rogue

Attached: 20190327_021517.jpg (366x478, 87K)

It was always obvious that it was Obito, the hair, eye position, near-anagram name and so on. The reason people didn't want to believe it was because it made no conceivable sense even if you just think about the timeline and stuff, so people convinced themselves that Kishi was just making an elaborate bait-and-switch because he couldn't possibly just be a hack writer.

And even after everything was explained and cleared up, it still makes no sense. The plot basically required him to turns from talentless shitter into a literal kage level ninja god in the span of 1-2 years, and this was all accomplished by a bullshit eyepower that he randomly got which is so fucking broken it makes the Rinnegan look like shit in comparison (especially hilarious because Obito and Kakashi outright say this). He was like 15 years old or some shit when he fought the 4th Hokage and fucked everyone up.

The other thing of course is his personalty U-turn which we're supposed to believe happened because "Rin died lol". He literally went from proto-Naruto to sociopath who threatens newborn babies of his literal teacher with death. I mean, even other Uchihas transformations into evil people was a process that went on for years, Obito just randomly did an instant 180 because the plot required him to.

There's some other unexplained bullshit like how its never explained how Nagato got Madara's Rinnegan without noticing lol (and why the fuck wouldn't he just give it to Obito anyway?)
Naruto is a poorly written mess, who knew. I'm just glad this little faggot was usurped by the real Madara and even got bullied when Madara revealed he orchestrated Rin's death to turn him into his puppet. Truly the villain this shit manga did not deserve.

>Obito just randomly did an instant 180 because the plot required him to.

That's what your brain is like on waifus.

>Truly the villain this shit manga did not deserve

>Madara just a legend to expand mangekyo

That's why he had a big ass statue in the valley of the end you faggotron.

Preach this post

You're making it too obvious, Narutard. Why don't you fuck off back to >>>/reddit/

You’re retarded arent you?

I don't get why people are mad for this. It was so ridiculously obvious. I guess a straight-forward answer is boring?

>8 years have passed and they are still seething

Attached: _sEs0t15gJE.jpg (800x487, 76K)

5 years, still mad

Attached: 1517866251459.jpg (500x607, 37K)

Their personalities would compliment each other more and let Sasuke be gay

Why? I still can't get why this is bad writing. Only bad thing about Obito is that Kishi made him pussy-obsessed beta. Everyting else is just fit as fuck. This sometimes implies predestination, but it's better than Obito would been have a completely unpredictable asshole.
P.S. I realy have butthurt over this unreasonable criticism. For years, I adhered to the point of view that this would be a good story-line. I was really in the minority. But I was told that such a turn is IMPOSIBLE and delusional. After Obito reveal, everyone changed their point of view to the opposite and began to say that it was on the contrary too predictable. And about a good writing. Kishi did everything to avoid excessive predictability: redherrings, plot-misliding, timing... I still don't get it. I mean, I was among the few who knew that Obito was Tobi, but this did not make the plot turn bad, but rather folded and well written. If I'm wrong, then give me examples of how such a turn was made better and did not look like asspull which fell from the sky.

Attached: GygNuEkdlFQ.jpg (604x604, 55K)

...

This became suddenly obvious after reveal. I remember how it was in fandom. If it was obvious, nobody react like that. This "Muh Rin" and rineganbowl goes after, but when was OP-pic this shitshtorm was just stupid baby crying. Shity Naruto fandom just want some endless version of pre-timeskip filler, I bet this is why MHA is so popular right now.

Same.

>user is not seething
How dare you?

Attached: 1545241702433.jpg (587x441, 92K)

Lots of years, still mad

Attached: leesaku-leesaku-34793712-500-382.jpg (500x382, 44K)

I remember, after Kakashi Gaiden, everyone was saying Obito was Tobi, to the point that in some places they banned everyone who would post that theory, because they were so sure it was Madara.

To think this turned out to be true, it is just so fucking funny.

>mfw watched the whole thing only after it ended and don't know what were the fanbase's reactions like to all these events
I know pain

Come on, Kishimoto had to come up with THIS CONTRIVED BULLSHIT to justify fitting a square peg into a round hole. Naruto's plot was always patchwork, it just started undoing before our eyes and everyone who expected not even something good, just not trash, was disappointed. By the end it seemed like Kishimoto didn't even care anymore, and I also blame the WSJ system.

Attached: swirl-zetsu-helping-obito[1].jpg (1280x720, 41K)

Yeah, you've read 700 chapter to just say "Yeap, it's bad". Nardo WAS good, we all loved it in some way or another. I hate endchapter, I hate many stupid crap from Kishi, but I admire this faggot for making something interesting and special.

>I also blame the WSJ system
WSJ system=Shinobi system

HE WAS CRUSHED UNDER A TON OF ROCKS. I know that doesn't mean much in this universe but his bullshit hadn't even activated yet.

FUCK

HE SOMEHOW SLIPPED PAST THEM

Attached: vw3dag9r4xa21.jpg (225x225, 6K)

>*Raises hand*
Stop giving me AIDS

it was the opposite of an asspull. it was foreshadowed way too frequently, and from way too early compared to its eventual confirmation. literal years of weekly chapters between the first readers noticing the connection between Tobi and Obito, and it finally being exactly what it looked like.

Same as "L+R=J" in GoT. Everyone who read in ongoing get it, but plot need it to be that way.

Why though?

>There's some other unexplained bullshit like how its never explained how Nagato got Madara's Rinnegan without noticing lol
Genjutsu?

>There's some unexplained bullshit
Genjutsu

years shipping this trash just for that ass ending, I want the time i lost back

I'm sorry that happened to you user

you're just losing even more time being mad over it

Can someone, without memes, just explain why Sasuke was wrong about the whole Ninja world being a worthless pile of shit and how his plan to fix things wasn't the best solution?

No explanation. Shinobi world is shit and Naruto still hasn't given a good answer to Nagato
The shinobi system is too flawed and must be destroyed
> Child soldiers
> Jinchuurikis (forcing them into a situation they’ree too young to even consent to (and they’re not even asked desu) to strengthen the village’s military power, despite the isolation and trauma it brings to both the hosts and bijuus)
>The maltreatment of Bijuus
>Fascism and the total obedience expected from the citizen toward the village and thus, the country, which strips people from their humanity and forces them to kill their own comrades and family for the village (Itachi, Kisame)
>GENOCIDE (The Uchihas)
>Poor/non-existent mental health care (Sasori and Kakashi who, instead of getting therapy, gets thrown in the battlefield as children, resulting in further trauma and the sociopathy of Sasori + Kakashi’s passive victim attitude)
>Gladiator arenas, basically ninjas (and often children) fighting each other for the “honor” of their countries and the amusement of the Feudal Lords (Chuunin Exams and Sasuke Shinden)
>Discrimination, demonization of and fear towards those with Kekkei genkai
>Absence of orphanages, children having to raise themselves by themselves (Naruto, Sasuke, Haku, Zabuza and many more)
>Slavery (the Hyuuga clan notably)
>Torture and human rights violation
>The Feudal Lords and upper class who are the ones responsible of all of this, profiting of such a cruel system to get richer and richer.

Sasuke was right, I think the ending would have been much better if Naruto had to give up on being Hokage to get Sasuke to come back to the village

That made sense in story and character perspective, Tobito does not.

> I guess a straight-forward answer is boring?
Yeah, for me that was it. I thought it was too obvious not to be a red herring. But to be fair I was still under the misconception Naruto was well written at the time.

You say.

Was this the stupidest shit ever?

Attached: 0678-014.png.jpg (2132x1600, 575K)

That page was perhaps the hardest I ever rolled my eyes.

to put it simply, yes

Meh I guess but I was more into KS.

>Poor/non-existent mental health care
Didn't Sakura get a hospital open for that? Can't remember the results of it.

>"foreshadowed" so hard that you knew it was obito ever since we first heard of him
this was not the reason to be mad, the reason to be mad was "the coolest guy" comment, pain "guess im gonna revive everyone" part and "fuck I wrote myself into a corner how do I defeat madara? Oh I know the uchiha tablet hidden meaning actually had another hidden meaning behind it and here's a goddess with zero forseshadowing, im such a genius writer"

oh, thanks for reminding me of more characters that were wasted

Sage Mode Naruto was almost that, but then he went for full Kyubishit

I don't need some stupid novel shit. I need this stuff in the actual manga that was about the victims of the shit system. In the end of the story I need to see the actual change and Naruto fulfilling all the promises he made, not some stpid fanfiction ships and horribly designed kids

I still don't get how he's Kaguya's when IIRC Madara did create him from scratch.

He made Madara think he created him.

>was a joke in the community as early as 06-07 that Tobi was Obito
>it actually becomes reality

Attached: 1555986507922.gif (265x308, 1.95M)

>Naruto is a poorly written mess, who knew. I'm just glad this little faggot was usurped by the real Madara and even got bullied when Madara revealed he orchestrated Rin's death to turn him into his puppet. Truly the villain this shit manga did not deserve.
Hell yeah nigga, you are telling me only sweet nothings.

Attached: madara pretty good thread OP.jpg (680x582, 73K)

2007's Naruto discussions were the best, tbf.

I still laught remembering forum scum who called tobi, Madara religously because he told Sasuke that's who he was

Torifu a cute

2007-2009 were god like

Naruto past the hidden mist isn't fucking boring though. Chuunin exams to Pain fight is better, even if Sai is introduced.

dude first story about Next Gen is literally about clones, i doubt that won't come up in the future

>Jiraiya is too old to flip on his beliefs.
might I remind you Kishi already did this bullshit with the black kage (forgot name, been a long time) changing his ways just by hearing naruto speak once.

didn't Kaguya only created the white ones?

I can't remember, does Kakashi kept the sharingan after Tobi left him?

Madara hype started when he began disrespecting the kages showing how much of a badass he was, handling them while playing around and using a pletora of techniques to intimidate them, later he stopped playing and almost killed them.
He partnered with his puppet Obito and played with the army of ninjas while using the Juubi, when Obito sorta betrays him by not resurrecting him and becomes sage after playing with Hashirama, he is not impressed and decides to wait.
After Obito was dealt with he is resurrected and with a rinnegan, he dispatches the bijus and everyone around him, ultimately becomes sage.
Here [since Madara is op] Kishimoto gives him the villain ball, making him dumb since he should have easily saw Obito betraying and stabbing him.
After having pieces stolen from him, he is set to mainly rely on six paths techniques and not all of his other useful abilities, underestimates and gets overpowered by Gai, then Jesus Naruto and Rinne-Sasuke, even after absorbing the tree [does not even think about stealing their chakra or use other abilities].
After obtaining his rinnegans, he starts the infinite tsukuyomi but is stabbed again killed off in favour of Kaguya, who has no battle experience and proved to be a bad final villain.

I made the reveal so worth it, admins everywhere were seething.

The white ones are the result of the people trapped in the previous infinite tsukiyomi, she created the black one to wait for asspull resurrection.
Nope, Kakashi lost both sharingan.

>I am still mad
im not, he is the best character in the series.
the real mystery was never WHO was behind the mask but WHY and HOW

Attached: 634099.jpg (1800x1300, 1.25M)

BECAUSE OF RIN AND HE SLIPPED BETWEEN BOULDERS
What a kino

>Was this the stupidest shit ever?
no...
seriously im not really trying to defend anything but you guys are simply forgetting that naruto is a japanese story from a japanese writer that has a ton of eastern spirituality shit. when people started declaring they was gods en shit you should have seen were things were going.

>changing his ways just by hearing naruto speak once.
But he didn't? The first time they spoke he basically spat on Naruto and made him faint from fucking hyperventilation.

>BECAUSE OF RIN AND HE SLIPPED BETWEEN BOULDERS
yes and no. he didn't slip half his body was replaced by zetsu. zetsu probably knew -if it was not him who orchestrated everything- were he was and probably got to him early on before he died from internal injuries.

I can get your frustration but Kishi honest to God ruined that pairing the moment he had Sakura go "oh I love you now Naruto so please stop chasing Sasuke 'kay?"

Jumped ship that week and I'm glad I did.

Fuck off Tobitard

Attached: naruto-3597793.jpg (800x1583, 223K)

Ok user but such decision hurt the series, having Naruto and Sasuke as dbz characters fighting aliens plot [Urashiki is still around], currently there is Kara that will asspull op equipment that surpasses Kaguya and Momoshiki.

>fighting aliens plot
no offense dude but in both Japanese and ancient greek theocracy gods come the "heavens". they are all part of a natural progression, of this world, the heavens are the skies. "gifted" people were long descendants of gods who had older gods as parents and so on

you are seeing things from our judeochristian perspective where god is this invisible being that resides in a parallel dimension and is everywhere and sees everything and exists outside of time.

>Fuck off Tobitard
I don't understand the aggression. yes he was covered in bandages there but it was probable the zetsu fusion that saved him. and of course zetsu who found him. i don't think im saying anything odd.

then later he magically got talked no jutsu into it

oh ok, thanks

Madara said something differently than you.

Why were people so surprised about it? Were they thinking there would be some clever bait and switch because Obito was too obvious? Yeah, Obito as an overall character and his motivation is shit, but it would have been an asspull with zero impact to have him revealed as anyone else.

Fun fact, the entire war arc was more chapters than the rest of the manga arcs combined including pre time skip.

Obito's young age while fighting Minato makes a bit more sense when you realize Sasuke was about the same age when he fought Kakashi after killing Danzo. What doesn't make sense is his sudden edgelord snap, but I guess Uchiha are just all mentally unstable.

Considering how Orochimaru and Sasuke got off scott free and Itachi (who commited genocide) is treated as heroic this doesn't surprise me at all. At least Obito is dead.

If it was anyone else you'd have to explain the one Sharingan that suspiciously matches Kakashi's. Then again Uchiha eyes are traded and popped in as easy as light bulbs.

>tfw time keeps marching on
>tfw naruto ended 5 years ago
>tfw it will slowly fade in to obscurity
>tfw you will never have as much fun discussing anime as you did when you were a teenager
>tfw those days will never come again

I feel the same way. I actually lurk on my old acc in one Naruto forum of old but I can't revitalize the banter. Did anyone find some way to fill the hole left by this?

This message helps me a lot when I get feels like this, Naruto was a hugely formative part of my childhood (and yours as well presumably) and even though its over now, we can carry the memories of it with us always and apply the messages it taught us to our real lives.
it feels really fucking stupid to get this sentimental over a fucking mediocre shonen goddamn

Attached: Naruto final volume message.jpg (828x398, 40K)

>Future!Sasuke would be just silly even for Naruto.
while I agree, I'd like to remind you that Naruto started out with Ninjas doing Ninja shit and ending with an Ayy lmao invasion

>everyone assumed he had just one Sharingan
>the mad lad has two

>It's a japanese story so a random divinity showing up to be the final villain not even 50 chapters after she was first mention is normal
kys

"The timeline doesn't make sense for Tobi to be Obito. The only way that could have happened would be if Obito basically got Hokage level skills in a year or two and that's just ridiculous. Even Kishimoto isn't that dumb"

>Narrator: It happened

You can't just say every fucking thing is "talk no jutsu" dude. Especially since the last "talk no jutsu" involved the kage trying to fucking behead Naruto.

>If Madara were the ultimate evil, everything would’ve ended with his death.
The other problem is that I guarantee Kishimoto made Madara too OP and didn't know how to properly kill him off

Obito spend a period around Madara and Zetsu. How hard is it to believe he picked up some nifty skills from them?

it fits with how unrealistic 180 turn it was

Eh, more like Naruto past Pain reviving everyone is a mistake.

Sure it was dude.

The Rin shit is so annoying. Because basically everything we had seen from Tobi, notMadara and Obito up to then at least made him look like a credible villain but ultimately it came down to a guy who's mad his loli waifu died

Because Madara's plan was better than Sauce's, it's just that Madara was a hypocritical bastard and ayyyys

God I hate the Sharingan so much

Naruto can't fade into obscurity as long as Boruto is still a thing

It is ridiculous. I know objectively I'd give the series 5/10 but... after all these years... I still rotate towards it.

I legit thought some sinister Kyuubi sharingan curse Itachi's crow bullshit was going on and he just had a panic attack...

I wonder how many people dropped Naruto after this.

based and kishinto pilled

Shouldn''t beast's chakra give him the same ability to sense evil intents just like as naruto?

based headcanon, naruto never had something like that

Yes he can sense evil intents in kurama mode.

Madara
> Foreshadowed since before time-skip
> Is an interesting character
> Has clear goals
Kaguya
> Foreshadowed 5 chapters before she appears
> Has no personality
> Has ambiguous reasons for what she's doing that have to be explained in Boruto to make half-sense
Why Kishimoto? Why? Did you have to extend till chapter 700 that much and just didn't know what to do?

A foe was needed for the origins of the enemies in the Boruto sequel in the works.

I think more than this Obitobi debacle is my need to have a decent conclusion to a story. But the time was not kind to endings. Mass effect 3, never cared much about Harry Potter, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Legend of Korra... Nearly every media was a disappointment. I just recently discovered vtmb, which surprisingly, I was satisfied with how it ended. My wish is that I could say the same about Naruto.

Based Naruto downplayer, Naruto is Jesus and he does whatever he wants.

Attached: f4f3f43f34f.jpg (760x2066, 594K)

If Kisame had just pretended to be the sword I doubt Naruto would have been smart enough to figure out it wasn't just an ordinary evil sword. I doubt he would have thought "there's a dude in there" before he thought "evil magic sword".

Attached: 1517404954578.png (883x497, 81K)

>Why Kishimoto? Why?
They were planning out Boruto and needed a new enemy to fight. It's pretty obvious at this point.
