This 64 palms move of Neji against Naruto bugged me the most. Stabbing Naruto once would have done more than hitting him 64 times in a highly specific way.

Yeah, but if you have the window of opportunity to hit your opponents 64 times with palm strikes, you have the time for a stab as well.
