Nah, he kind of randomly just is put into the spotlight in the span of like 2 or 3 episodes, where he ends up fucking up Accelerator, and fucking off from the show again.

Gungnir was destroyed on a delay it is the only time that has happened. Touma has been forced to deflect several attacks because they were too strong to negate, like Othinus's arrows and HR's beams. Aiwass's first attack wasn't negated either and Touma says he blocked it. So either it was regeneration thing or it IB was already overloaded. Ten times might have just triggered something inside because the sound was describe as coming from within his body not from his hand. It was also a burst so maybe a lock breaking. By that point Aiwass had also crushed IT once so it was the first time touma fought after that happened .

Index is a little different than Railgun in that its split into different arcs, and they all have a different feel to them. It's one show I wouldn't use the three ep rule on, but a lot of the first arcs aren't as good as later ones either, unfortunately.

Bothersome not in "loli is sick gross pedoshit etc" way, but in the "why the fuck is she a little girl? Why is everyone acting like little girl teaching a class is normal?" kind of way. As in, it bothers my suspension of disbelief, rather than moral sentiments.

Academy City is a city that's capable of all sorts of sci fi shenanigans and literally managed to make espers a scientific reality. Well, Index has a lot of "fuck it, why not" early on that doesn't even bother trying to explain. At least later on there's some sort of explanation even if its halfassed sometimes. Just remember that with the exception of Boo Boo and Jack, all of the MCs by this author are actually the bad guys.

The difference to me, I guess, is that I came into the show expecting psychic powers and magic being thing, as they were established aspects of the universe, thus the need to justify them beyond some sciencebabble is not as big for me.
