I have given up on that shit site some time ago. By now it is probably worse than DA. No matter which series I browse for, 80% of the hits look like some crappy doodles from some twelve year olds. All of the good shit is on twitter now.

sure but they managed to make it worse. even them should be able to tell when they downgrade. first you have thumbnails then you remove them, clearly a feature was removed.

I hate it too. But there is nothing anyone can do at the moment. Western fags at least post their art on tumblr which is still an image centric website, but even many of them have moved to twitter after that porn-ban bullshit and Japanese people were more twitter centric to begin with.
What annoys me even more than the text posts there is that it is impossible to FIND new artists unless you are lucky enough that they get retweeted by some other artist you are already following. Pixiv and tumblr at least have tags but even that is bad. JP artists barely use tags and tumblr doesn't allow more than five.

This is why scappers exist, just find your favorite artist page number and use a program to scrap everything from that page, some can even grab tags as well. Its just not worth browsing that site.

Sadly a lot of artist(including Japanese) are turning to twitter now, shit sucks.

Get better internet? I've been loading 70+ image logs faster than before with the new layout. Needs a thumbnail feature though and bug fixes(some images don't open and you have to open in a new tab to get the original image)

no way no how twitter is a good place to find the same kind of images that Pixiv have. unless you're only into really tame normie stuff.

get better brain? 100 thumbnail versions always load faster than 100 large versions. maybe you like waiting 10 seconds but i prefer to wait 1 second + getting an overview of the whole submission without needing to scroll up and down like a monkey.

I'm noticing some images not showing up on people's galleries even though I have Explicit content (R-18) and Ero-guro content (R-18G) both set to "Show" in my profile. I know because the images show up in search results. But not when I check the person's profile (by clicking "Illustrations").
Any ideas on this? The hidden images are very Guro so do Pixiv actually hide some images manually or what?

something that's killing pixiv is all the user advertisement: uploading incomplete images, incomplete stories, super censored images or even blurry images and then with a link to Shitreon below.

pixiv SHOULD realize that this needs to be forbidden before 90% of all uploads are just advertisements instead of people actually wanting to share their art. because people will leave if they are getting cockteased over paywalled content constantly. that's not why the site got popular

The old layout had really bad slowness issues loading images. This layout has a convenience issue(namely no thumbnails to make sure you're not going through a 50 image pure bara log, and having to find the right place to click to enlarge rather than moving to the next image) and some bugs.

A lot of the boorus only get like maybe barley 2/3 of an artist works so there's always a ton of shit still missing and that's not even counting artist who still aren't on any of the boorus's. Also a lot of an Pixiv artist works are spread out across different boorus where some booru's will have half of an artist works and another booru would have the other half. You basically have to check through multiple booru's just to get everything from an artist and the sad part is, its easier to do this than to browse pixiv.

Finding new artists is easy as fuck, all you have to do is find a single one that does shit that you like and check their rts. There, you have all of them. I admit that I'd prefer an art-centric websites but that's where the nips are.

following artists on twitter is a huge pain in the ass because it's filled with shitty gacha and food blog. your best chance is to follow dedicated retweeters who exclusively retweet top-tier stuff.

I use both twitter and pixiv and the majority of the artists I have bookmarked still post on pixiv.

Boorus are a joke, even the ones that don't pretend to have standards can't get a tenth of what's uploaded, even popular series. Danbooru's the worst one because on top of missing a lot they actively purge things either by not approving them or plain deletion due to artists asking them to.

They could just block western artists and 90% of the patreon links would disappear.

YES images load faster now but that doesn't matter. as i said, get a better brain and stop telling people to upgrade their internet. i have a 1000 Mbps up/down so stop bragging about downloading fast images. yes people that tell others to get a faster connection when that clearly isnt an issue fucking trigger me, go away.

To my big surprise many of the shitty artists are actually asian it seems. There are still a lot of westerners among the bad ones, but not nearly all of them.
I guess it's typical phenomenon of decay once more people learn about a website and join the community while old users are leaving. As a drawfag that used tumblr and pixiv for a long time I got tired of pixiv too and all of the shitty lead pencil art, the dying community and the the rule and system update don't make it any better. I like that twitter makes it easier to talk and share other artists which wasn't really a thing there either, even though I hate twitter at the same time. The lag of tags, the impossibility to find many of the artists and the image quality piss me off.
I just wish there was new a good image centered website out there that gets actually used. But considering that normalfags use horrific crap like pinterest and instagram that are even way worse than twitter, tumblr or DA ever were people probably don't even try to get big with art related websites anymore.

HOLY SHIT i just noticed that "Illustrations" sometimes doesn't show all images, this artist has more images in his "Home".

that's so bad, usually Home has fewer images so I just assumed that the "Home" is a selection of the best images while "Illustrations" has all of them. why has Pixiv made it this way?

I've seen a lot of actually decent art-centric websites being made on past few years, artists actually do miss having something like that. The problem is that most of this sites never reach the normalfags so artists have no choice but to turn to social media sites like Twitter to get more visibility. I fear that we'll never have something like DA or Pixiv ever again.

Yes exactly. Social media and very few big central other website have killed the rest of the internet. In the end you will always be forced to go for big sites if you don't want to spend your time posting for a small circlejerk of the same people.
Many artist still dump their art on pixiv after a while though, but much stuff, especially cool sketches and the likes remain twitter only.
