>Don't hear much from this manga on Yea Forums aside from a new thread when a chapter comes out or a few people saying it's boring
>Read up to the current chapter in the past few weeks
>It's actually fucking great with a based MC and the best group fights I remember seeing in a shounen manga
My only complaint is there are so many secondary characters that I can't remember most of their names, but that might just be me.
World Trigger
Also I know everyone says the anime adaptation is bad but is there any episodes/scenes worth watching?
That's normal, it takes a few rereads (people did during the hiatus) to remember them.
>so many secondary characters that I can't remember most of their names
that happened to me too sometimes when the new team were introduced.
the op is ok for me but everything else is kinda shit especially the filler.
user, a man sent to jail yesterday because of this series
Once upon a time this was a WSJ manga with weekly chapter discussion threads. Ever since going on hiatus and getting transferred to a monthly magazine upon its return it's flown under the radar for everyone who wasn't already a fan of the series.
I figured other people had this problem, I feel like I need a chart with just the characters name and their face.
>the op is ok for me but everything else is kinda shit especially the filler.
That's too bad, a proper adaptation would make for a great anime.
Yeah because the madman decided to be a pirate in japan.
>everyone says the anime adaptation is bad
Adapted by Toei, that´s a given
Manga is good, story progression is in a snail pace but the rook is all strategy battles
Toei shit but I watched it during its airing. Chika blasting shit was nice to see.
Looks like I lost a bunch of earlier webm.Thats what you get keeping shit in recycle bin.
Mikumo bouncing like a ragdoll was funny.
Also this.
>I figured other people had this problem, I feel like I need a chart with just the characters name and their face.
I'm not at home right now, but an user posted a couple of pics like that some threads ago
If you have a lot a lot of free time you can check the archives
Despite watching the anime and reading through the manga twice I still can't be bothered to learn all of their names.
To be honest by Toei standards it was actually pretty solid. It had none of the wildly inconsistent animation or wonky art I expect from Toei series - and I was actually a big fan of the unique color palette.
Of course it suffered from slowing an already slow pace - as well as constant recaps that only worsened the issue - but by Toei standards it wasn't half bad.
same honsetly.
don't even get me started on the fucking operators shiori is the only one I can remember
I didn't even realize there are still A-rank agents we haven't seen.
>slow pace
Is the pacing really that slow? Maybe it's because I binge read through the thing but the pace is fine for me.
Downloaded the dvd version of episode 1 the other day and noticed they actually fixed some minor art quibbles (like faces) for the home release.
>Is the pacing really that slow?
I would call it "deliberate" before I call it "slow", if only because of the difference in connotation. It certainly takes its time, but it doesn't usually drag things out without purpose. Not waiting for updates certainly helps with the pacing of any manga, and that's why I tend to wait for a few chapters to come out, even for weekly releases, before bingeing them.
In any case its pacing is far from what one would call snappy, and watching the anime, rather than making the manga seem faster by comparison, actually ends up highlighting how slow it was in the first place.
There's also that one B-rank squad that's gonna debut in the final match.
The pacing hurts the most in the first 20 or so chapters because it's mostly world building and character intros. The characters aren't terribly interesting yet and the story doesn't really go anywhere until the Black Trigger retrieval arc.
I friggin adore this smug man
I knew the names of the Rank Wars host and the Katori squad operator at one point.
oddly enough because the same face this cutie is the easiest for me to visualize, obviously because of her hair.
Find some wiki or something where they give you episode synopsis/chapter covered. Then go for the ones covering fights from afto invasion or your fav fights.
Afto got the most budget in the series but it still has Toei quality and padding (like glorious 30s roar). But the openings were great. Especially op2 had fun visuals with Afto.
I recall going back to the suzunari/nasu rank battle a few times.
