Thanks for the dump OP. I think it's just a testament to Himeya training that Aika is able to pilot the gondola well, while wearing heels. I do hope she's comfortable in them, however.

This chapter is another nice example of showing how pleasant a good walk can be through the streets of Neo Venezia. But at the same time, how eerie it can get when you're wandering around at night. Stroll around Castello near the Arsenale and you'll get a good idea yourself. Dark corners of the city with barely a soul in sight, just the quiet sounds of water and the breeze.

I know Aika mentions a height limit in Neo Venezia - I don't think I've heard of a similar one in actual Venice. However, the tallest non-belltower, non-church building in the city is the Hotel Danieli. It's only fitting given its future as Akira-sama's base of operations. (Though I'm not sure if the Molino Stucky on the Giudecca is taller or not)

Wow, this makes me sad desu. I remember when I first read it when it was getting released it looked like the most beautiful world ever. It still is, but the art would glisten at these moments It's still pretty when put into the narrative, just weirdly dated.

I don't think it's likely. Most canals that you can walk alongside that I've seen usually have waist-high walls or railings, or are in well-lit places. Perhaps if you go into some really secluded and unlit areas you might find a canal that isn't well lit or railed off - but honestly, I think the only feasible way you could accidentally fall into a canal is if you were drunk. So someone keep a close eye on Alicia!

Rain might be okay, but having seen the flood catwalks there would be a lot I wouldn't have been able to do if it were really bad.

My parents have never been to Venice. Having gone myself, it seems crazy to not to. It's such a unique experience, and flights are only like €50 from where I live.
