Does anyone miss when anime/manga was unknown? Like now that anime is so mainstream we have huge (unnecessary) controversy and the fanbase of some anime is so shitty and fucking horny I dropped BNHA because of all the thirsty lesbians that followed everywhere I go. And now that jojo is mainstream as well they are turning it into some sort of gay icon (it will get even worse on part six especially because of jolyne's boyfriend being a female when it first started but Araki forgot). And now they trina turn trap into a slur too like anime/manga is as great as it has ever been but the western comunity fucking sucks and I wish anime came back to the shadows of the internet, this the only place I can say this without being banned and scrutinized so thanks for existing Yea Forums enjoy some fubuki
I agree with your first part, Fujos and fuck Yuriniggers. JoJo after Part 3 was always for faggots. The only thing you can hope for is for westerners to lose interest somehow
Boy I'm just frustrated but I get better, sorry that you feel that way
Levi Myers
Its the sjw tranny jew freaks pushing for the societal decay that have power over all the mainstream western anime industry. Normal fans just enjoy the content while these people force their way and their beliefs into the industry.
YES I just enjoy the fucking content I could care less about anything else, I just enjoy the blood and sweat that went into creating those
Bentley Phillips
It's both and good imo. In a way it's bad cause the more attention something has the more so called "critics" appear, and the more it gets normalized the more demographics authors will try to reach to.
It's good because nowadays we have more translations/merchandise/events/adaptations/Games/communities. The non-Japanese fandoms have grown big enough that companies can actually target them for certain projects
nowadays if you don't watch anime to some degree, you're basically not cool (virutally at least). Oh well, nothing big lost
Oh yeah, at first i thought it was the guy that framed jolyne. Stone ocean is riddled with these kinds of inconsistencies, like when stone free strength was demonstrated to only be able to bend a coin then it just doesnt and has A in destructive power
Ayden Hughes
Shit you're right I try to but they are kinda loud you know? That's why I prefer look for good unknown manga their fanbase are the chillest mfs ever
Barely any of that sounds like a big deal, and it's really not that hard to ignore if you really take an issue with it.
Sebastian Smith
Obviously you do not enjoy anime because instead of talking about it you are here bitching like a retarded hybrid of a 13 year old Edgelord and a hipster.
You hate people with different opinions? Grow the fuck up.
Jordan Peterson
If you really want that super sekrit feel just dwell on furryshit, it will never be normalized because everybody hates it and nasty af
Dominic Howard
I'd rather not spend an eternity struggling to get translations and other content for something I like that's all I'm saying.
Brayden Hernandez
Fuck no. I can talk about one of my hobbies now openly and happily without being called a faggot. I even mentioned Senko-San the other day to a coworkers and he said he didn't like it but got the appeal. Its fucking great.
Now if I could openly talk about guns with out everyone thinking I was a gun nut my life would be complete.
Not the picture I meant to post, but cool I guess.
Isaac Ward
You exaggerate
Adam Kelly
Boy I don't dislike them just find them annoying, and I can handle people's opinions pretty well like you say that to me and I'm not even mad I see your point and you are right in a way I, and for that you deserve my apologies have a good day
If you can let other fans affect your perception of a work so easily, then it sounds like you never really like it to begin with. That and the fact that you're lamenting over popularity make it sound like you're just using anime as a form of identity. In other words, you're no different from the people you were ranting about. They used it as a gay icon or whatever shit you claim, while you just want anime to be the medium for this secret underground club for you. You are not an anime fan, you're just using anime as an excuse or an outlet just like those people you mock.
Grayson Sanders
Ok but what if I like anime/manga but my opinion on those people are wrong? Couldn't I just change my attitude then? You don't need to tell me that I dont truly like anime man, it's one of the few things that bring me joy in life again sorry for my attitude I'll look into myself to not commit those mistakes again I'm officially tonight's biggest loser I'll take the L give it to me
>my opinion on those people are wrong >Couldn't I just change my attitude then? Why do you care? What does it matter? Do you watch anime for yourself or for others? This is why I call you a faker because it keeps sounding like you're just insecure and need validation. Anime was never the point. Anime is not the issue, it's you.
Owen Martinez
Getting stuff was way harder before, so I don't really miss it. If something bothers me I ignore it unless it actually affects me. I do hate when vocal carebears try their hardest to change Japan though. It's not your country, fuck off.
Luke Lewis
Hell no, it's better now. I can actually do stuff watch anime movies (that aren't Ghibli/popular Jump property outside of Japan) in the cinema while it used to be that I have to wait for the BDs to be released. Only hipsters get mad over something like popularity and cause it to affect their enjoyment.
Dylan Jenkins
That's all up to you to decide and at that point this is more a discussion of personal politics than anything. The point is it's never a good idea to let fans deter your enjoyment of something. Just enjoy what you like and if you just happen to see their point or etc. then so be it, but don't complain about their existence till that day happens, if it happens, cause you're going to just seem like a fool.
Zachary Howard
I don't remember this image. Where did it come from? Twitter or some random chapter?
Dylan Edwards
>I need a safe space where I can say trap in peace
Kevin Carter
Happens to web novels as well that get a picked up by an official publisher and become what's called light novels. I followed a series that clearly catered to adults, but then it turned into kid friendly garbabe because they didn't want to upset the normie crowd that started to read it.
>when stone free strength was demonstrated to only be able to bend a coin then it just doesnt and has A in destructive power This is not an inconsistency. Stone Free's stats change throughout the manga because Jolyne herself evolves.
Noah Price
>Does anyone miss when anime/manga got you beat up/made fun of at school? no
Dylan Campbell
>It's good because nowadays we have more translations/merchandise/events/adaptations/Games/communities. The non-Japanese fandoms have grown big enough that companies can actually target them for certain projects Thats not a good thing you fucking retard.
Cameron Walker
If you let them live RENT FREE you're the loser here. Crunchyroll goes full identity politics to get brownie points? Stop supporting them, forget about them Reddit spams the RAVIOLI DRAGON LOLI XD meme? Don't go on that website ever again Netflix produces shitty adaptation 90% of the time? Stop supporting them, forget about them Tumblr shits out tons of gay Jojo art? Laugh at them, forget them. Etc. It doesn't only have bad sides too as you can see It's only an issue if you let it get to you. Also there's a reason these things I listed are despised on Yea Forums. If this place managed to be frog/wojak-free for that long, it'll remain a decent place to discuss whatever niche things you're into for a while, methinks.
>Does anyone miss when anime/manga was unknown? Fuck no. I certainly don't miss having to pay a small fortune for a 100-page "book" with mirrored panels and fucking atrocious typesetting.
Eli Sanchez
It is you lonely brainlet
Isaiah Powell
Oh no, did he use no-no words you dont like?
Christopher Morales
Can't you just like watch or read something without participating in the community. Is not like someone has holding gun to your head to read gay BNHA doujin.
Brandon Gomez
*is holding a gun
Leo Powell
I don't mind not having to buy three dollar pamphlets that only have two or three chapters.
Anime is not nearly as mainstream as western shit and as long as one doesn't leave Yea Forums there is no necessity to interact with the sorts of subhumans that are normally into it. I'm not really bothered.
Nathaniel Davis
>dropping something because of the fanbase imagine being this insecure and shallow
Hunter Reed
I just learned to ignore them, it's that simple. Also, as long as popularity in the west doesn't effect the stories I'm Japan, I'll be fine with it
Angel Robinson
explain why it makes someone shallow or insecure. I can understand why you would feel like dropping something precious to you if it's getting shit on
Christopher Flores
If you don't like the people who like the thing you like, just don't interact with them. They don't have any impact on the quality of the story
Dylan Bell
Ignore them. Unless you browse r*ddit/tumblr/twitter you will never see them.
Oliver Bennett
That I can agree on.
Not OP btw but with the slow westernisation of anime I can't help but feel that the medium is inevitably going to get affected one way or another so "just ignoring" is probably going to be difficult.
Hudson Rivera
I wanna watch and enjoy but also get along with others that share my passion so if someone points an error that I'm committing I see the error correct it and continue to enjoy the experience that was the point of this thread share my opinion recieve feedback see If I'm wrong and if I am (I am wrong btw) I change myself (wich I will)
Adam Miller
> And now that jojo is mainstream as well they are turning it into some sort of gay icon
You sound like a newfag who needs his /pol/ safespace.
I kinda enjoy being able to talk to some of my coworkers about my hobby without revealing my power level. Also I never got the "cancerous fanbase ruined my enjoyment of the show" argument, seems like letting the behaviour of people completely unrelated to your experience of the media affect your enjoyment is most brainlet thing to do.
Jojo's been mainstream for some time now, you sound like you're late to the party
Eli Rivera
Take a lesson from our brethren in gaming and never forget that the trend hoppers of today will very well be the overly demanding faggots that never actually support the industry assholes of tommorrow.
>brethren in gaming Get the fuck out of my board, Yea Forumsermin. I'll worry about the cancer of right now before the cancer of tomorrow.
Connor Wilson
>Does anyone miss when anime/manga was unknown?
no, because of the rise of popularity we have more access and more translations for new and old works.
About "muh SJW", the best thing is that Japan stays redpilled (for now) and Otaku culture is the one who move anime and manga. The filth from the West will touch them eventually but It will take some time.
Jason Reyes
>popular = bad
Jayden Cooper
>If you don't like the people who like the thing you like, just don't interact with them. They don't have any impact on the quality of the story Absolutely based. You've earned +1 respect from me, user.
Aiden Ramirez
They are our fucking brethren you nigger, games have been built by chinks a got wrecked by retards who didn't respect the medium. If you think the west isn't going to successfully influence anime you are retard.
Carson Gonzalez
Japanese games are still pretty good as far as I'm concerned. Now fuck off back to where you came from.
bring Ilulu to dragon maid full force so they wont watch dragon maid anymore and then add oppai loli to every other mainstream series here that'll do it
>especially because of jolyne's boyfriend being a female when it first started but Araki forgot
Everyone talks like Araki has some kind of debilitating amnesia. Araki changed Anasui into a woman because the manga he was publishing in (Jump?) wasn't okay with having lesbians. Same reason Lisa Lisa couldn't do anything aside from job to Kars.
Jaxson Martinez
You clearly didn't live in the era where fucking nothing was available in the west. The Duwang translations are so famous for a reason, that reason being THAT'S ALL THERE FUCKING WAS Pic related was the state of basically every series for fucking years, we live in a goddamn golden age now and I never want to go back
I just ignore the shit I hate like anime reviewers and Western shit. Having a few more things accessible is neat, and I'm actually able to talk to my coworkers about anime since they watch it too. (Though they pay for CR) You could always learn Japanese and shitpost with the japs since they don't care about homoshit.
