Excepting that one studio that shan't be named, most stuff will look like this.

CGI is the future

Attached: 1523060090046.jpg (1280x720, 48K)

I hope this coming one will lean more towards the style of the 70s. Probably won't, but that's my hope.

>anime sharknado

>kemono friends and kemurikusa selling
We both know it.

70s = very good
80s = good
90s = very good
00s = very good
10s = terrible tranny-like shit

Do Japs think this looks good? Why does this keep happening?

Of course they don't.

It keeps happening because the 2D animator job is dying and CG is a lot easier to make.

Attached: Moe... Moe never changes.jpg (320x1083, 165K)

Whoever holds the profit, holds authority

Attached: c2fdf6df541725c1a6436926c67a16081544016752_full.jpg (640x356, 63K)

If that happened I'd just switch to watching older stuff full-time. Doubt I'll run out of anime for a long time, and I won't be distracted by shitty new shows if I can safely ignore them all.

It's already perfect

Attached: Karen10.png (128x128, 31K)

maybe in 10 years shitty CGI won't look so shitty

Attached: f3341874712.png (500x1050, 432K)

I don't know anything about animation but cant they use effectiveness of CG tech to replicate standard 2D animation? Like they design and animate it within a 3d environment but frame it and use perspective in such a way that it looks 2D?

Am I the only one perfectly fine with PS2 tier CG?
Honestly the story and ideas are way more important than visuals, so anything that lets more diverse ideas and bulk of content be produced is great imo.
Kemono Friends is a great example.

Like this.

Basically Valkyria Chronicles?

Attached: 541246-valkyriaheader.jpg (1920x1080, 348K)

the issue is that 3D is too perfect. even if you slap filters on it and slow the framerate, the inconsistencies are a feature of hand drawn animation that I'd say it's almost impossible to replicate.

WHERE'S THE 70S

I'm thinking more of actually using cardboard cutouts as characters (maybe more complicated, as in they have many angles but all of them look flat and can be switched) and flat paintings as background objects.

AHAHAHAHAH, no.

Not mob psycho 100 fag

For some reason the 60s style in that chart looks more like 70s and even 80s decade anime like Space Battleship Yamato and Gundam. If anything, in the chart, the 70s and 80s style could both be placed on the 90s decade and the 90s style in a 2000-2005 bracket with the 00 style in a 2005-present place.

Can someone give me 2010s with 1990s nose?

why not?

Like South Park? The process not the style of course.

Isn't it obvious?

Attached: hey.gif (540x540, 626K)

oh shit this will be Kyoani's first project in the new decade

Obviously because you posted an exception among exceptions.

Can you retards stop using VEG as an example of what modern anime looks like?

Attached: 1514467350556.png (957x700, 542K)

So you're fine with Berserk 2016 tier stuff?

Hopefully our A.I overlords will initiate a non-violent takeover where they bombard humans in a deluge of top-tier solitary entertainment to prevent them from forming relationships and having children, thus exterminating the human species within the span of a generation. I look forward to a robotic succubus waifu who will oh-so gently seduce me and crush any remnants of desire towards flesh and blood mortals. We will watch A.I generated anime where the animation is excellent as is everything else from noon to midnight and make love after that.

Attached: kagari_seducing2.jpg (1920x1080, 1.06M)

Can VEG win AOTD in the 2010s and the 2020s?

>Not going full Ninja Slayer/Inferno Cop

If it wasn't an adaptation of something already existing with infinitely superior quality I would have been fine with it.

HE used it as an example of what FUTURE anime might look like, not present. Although tbqfh it´s unlikely future anime will look like that if we follow the current timeline.

>Future anime
>being original and not some LN/manga adaptation
Yeah not a lot of that happening. At least not for a couple more years.

The OP specifically said "will" and not "might".

He shitposted, that's what he did. Nobody is delusional enough to seriously believe 20s or 30s anime will have VEG's quality on a regular basis.

I don't really know what their process is unfortunately, but if it is something similar then maybe that sort of use will spread. I'm just thinking that there must be a way to use that tech to alleviate the workload, at least for simpler scenes, while still making it look like a regular anime. Standard 2D drawn anime replicates what something would look like from a set perspective that had depth, only it's made on a flat surface. Surely 3D animation should be able to do the same. Instead they animate 3D models and just paste it onto a scene with a painted background.

LN adaptations are fine too. I already rarely bother with anime adaptations of manga (and I'm starting to treat LN adaptations similarly)
I was mostly referring to the quality of Berserk and the fact I've already read if a dozen times and how 2016 failed to live up to it.
But even then I still watched all of 2016 and the only really jarring part to me was CLANG, and that was just a problem in sound directing.

Yeah, I'm totally fine with it too.

I wish this is how anime will look in the future.

This is what Jojo and David productions do with environmental scenes. Watch the Darby the Elder fight again and notice that there's ton of CGI that you just don't notice

Interesting. If CG is the future then I hope more companies handle it like that, seems like a good way to do it.

I want to see a revival of the rubber-hose style of 60s anime

...

3DCG

Attached: Houseki no Kuni - 01 - Large 12.jpg (1280x720, 170K)

HnK is the rare exception where CG isn't absolute dogshit and backed up with excellent characters & story. In most cases, some or all of these qualities aren't present

>studio that shan't be named
You mean David Productions? Oh shi-

Who the fuck made this shit that’s not true at all

3D environments can look very nice because we don't expect them to move in the way people do, 3D character models are still pretty bad

CG potatoes

>honestly the story and ideas are way more important than visuals
Then why even watch anime? Go read a fucking book or something

Why couldn't Berserk get this good of CG reeeeeeee

damn rina looks really weird in that pic

didn't this sell like 6k copies even though it was hyped to sell 15-20k?

Potatoes are the future

Most of the JoJo CG after part 2 is excellent. They have some of the few decent looking CG cars I've seen. A lot of great effects that really blend with detailed backgrounds instead of being start cel-shaded polygons that highlight the contrast.

They already have 2D taters like MiB and Girl’s Last Tour, why would they need to make them 3D?

Tatsukichads, gather

Attached: rinaji smart.jpg (1280x720, 74K)

Even 2010 chan is starting to look dated. Strong longitudinal streaks in the hair like that are out of fasion, eye styles are so much more complex now, colored lines or general substitutes for black are more and more common, and so is using gradients in a lot of places (especially eyelashes), faces also seem to be getting a bit longer but that might just be my own biases.

In general I expect tends to continue where the end look of an anime is determined moreso by the step-by-step of its coloring and rendering than any strong stylistic changes.

Faces are a lot sharper these days and the midface is bigger. Also I think eyes are getting closer together.

There is no future for animation, the only thing keeping the industry alive are the memes, Yuru Camp sold because muh camping, Manaria Friends sold because muh gaming, and so on.

w-welkin? what the hell, i thought there was a time skip between the games

A split between 3DCG shows and expensive instagram filter Kyoani/Shinkai/copycat 2D movies for normalfags and your mom who think they're "omg so beautiful" and still call them all Ghibli.

you wish.

you bet.

KyoAni will still continue to exist after 2020 and continue to make anime.

KyoAni in its history started many industry changing trends:
VN
LNs
Moe/CGDCT
Fujo (which Utsumi who left now spearheards)

Next should be: 100 tone shading and 100k lines keyframes

making a show that detailed would probably bankrupt studios that aren't Toei, or Sunrise. The future of anime is cheap 3DCG like this.

Attached: galo.jpg (1024x614, 41K)

Cool, that means the industry will start taking 2 years to produce a single TV show and will start caring about the animators.
Yeah right, keep dreaming.

Attached: 1498691192951.png (379x551, 180K)

They can just use stills, its not like most of their shows have much animation to begin with.

youtube.com/watch?v=2WkcLMapo_Y

>ultra detailed stills
>transition into 3DCG "sakuga"
it would be too jarring of a transition.

If anything, i`d wished integration of actual film footage in anime - like Sarazanmai PVs. 2D characters in real world.

No. It already sold 13k and expected to sell more by next week

More realisticly speaking - anime technology will change.

Best use would be:
3d bodies
Live 2D faces
Replacement of Keyframe animation with computer generated contextual tweening

Otaku will buy anything that the industry forcefeeds them.

youtube.com/watch?v=DWnPWygJEyM

>the story and ideas are way more important than visuals
too bad anime in the future will have neither

>release her you evil wizards

>the only thing keeping the industry alive are the memes
I'm sure you thought this sounded insightful, but it's not.

Theres nothing wrong with 3d animations and cgi
the question is
Why is all anime 3d animation and cgi bad looking
why doesnt it look like movie quality/videogame quality

WHO THE FUCK IS BUYING THIS FUCKING UGLY SHIT ON BLURAYS

He is correct though. He is wrong in one aspect though - while 3d animator is much more lucrative job than 2d animator ever would be, the issue is none of them will go to anime studios since Video Game/Tv/advertisement industries compete with them for talent and anime studios simply can't afford to hire them and offer conditions other industries can.

I never said he was wrong. But a meme is literally just another way of saying something is popular. So he's basically saying "The only thing keeping the industry alive are popular things", which is obvious.

Fuck off apologist, yes there is. They use that cancer as a cop out of hand drawing something they need to. 3D CGshit can't replicate anime's style properly.

>look like movie quality/videogame quality
Fuck that cancer.

>anime studios dont have money to hire competent 3dcg stuff
>thinks they will have money to hire ai specialists or develop neural networks needed
in video games, maybe - thanks to Nvidia. In anime? Unless Google forms own anime studion not in next decade

yamakan will do it

youtube.com/watch?v=MMoRrvAeCjA

>anime studios dont have money to hire competent 3dcg stuff
what the fuck does this even have to do with competent 3dcg? the tumour is there on the productions because they're either too cheap, lazy or lack the talent to hand draw something. it's a way out of putting effort into something, of course it's not going to be competent. if they cared, it wouldn't be there at all

youtube.com/watch?v=ngZ0K3lWKRc

Its there because they DO care. Its expensive to have own 3dcg department and even more so outsource it - making crap cheap animation is simplier and cheaper. However everyone understands 3D is absolutely integral part of future animation and necessarity to remain competitive. Its just that - as with digital colouring in begining of 2000ths, studios are inexperienced with it and lack competence, let alone have talented/experieinced stuff - instead hiring students and drop outs that did not get in other industries or get hired by actual studios focused on CG, like Sanzigen or Shirogumi or Orange.

Overlord/Berserk CG is crap not because its "cheap", but because staff making it is inexperienced and incompetent.

CG in most shows is jarring not because its bad by default, but because most studios dont have own cg departments and outsource and lack experience to integrate it right making a lot of rookie mistakes (like wrong framerate, shading,, inability to match the cg with show color pallet) - there is disconnect in production.

Meanwhile CG when done properly is great - see VEG or anime movies where they care to make it properly.

I like CGI imply because of how it triggers Yea Forums

>Its there because they DO care.
do something about your delusion kid

>Its expensive to have own 3dcg department and even more so outsource it - making crap cheap animation is simplier and cheaper.
Vastly cheaper in the long run. Animating anything by hand with the same level of detail as seen typically in anime is more expensive & time consuming. A PC can render 10 or 10,000 frames per second if you tell it to & they get faster every year.(see moores law)

>However everyone understands 3D is absolutely integral part of future animation and necessarity to remain competitive.
It's fucking not. It's just cheaper & easier to produce. It's just that greedy fucking companies want to maximise their profits. Why do you think cgshit shows are filled with animation but normal anime never are?

>Its just that - as with digital colouring in begining of 2000ths, studios are inexperienced with it and lack competence, let alone have talented/experieinced stuff - instead hiring students and drop outs that did not get in other industries or get hired by actual studios focused on CG, like Sanzigen or Shirogumi or Orange.
I can't believe you typed up this bullshit. 3DCG is insufficient in expressing traditional manga & anime styled art, stuff that fundamentally isn't 3d but used to represent 3d objects with 2d transformations.

>CG in most shows is jarring not because its bad by default, but because most studios dont have own cg departments and outsource and lack experience to integrate it right making a lot of rookie mistakes (like wrong framerate, shading,, inability to match the cg with show color pallet) - there is disconnect in production.
Bullshit.

>Meanwhile CG when done properly is great - see VEG or anime movies where they care to make it properly.
Yea, it looks good, on part with what's seen in the best modern videogames but it doesn't fucking look anime styled. You need to stop fucking misleading people.

more like nu Yea Forums is filled with apologists

Attached: water.png (1920x1080, 2.55M)

Jesus Christ that was painful to watch. I don't see anything wrong with it though, I could see it being used in video games/anime. It's just that Miyazaki is autistic.

The 3DCG water in Evergarden looks great but that's not the fucking point. It doesn't fucking look 2D, it doesn't fucking look anime styled. 3DCG shit never fucking looks right. Compare that to the hand drawn water from Phantom World here, it actually looks like anime. These bastards keep forcing CG because it's the cheaper and faster production method. You need to stop enabling them. It's not a fucking replacement for traditional anime, 3DCG is incapable of doing the aesthetic things hand drawn can. It's not just CEL shading that's the issue, it's the 3D model itself.

My wishlist
>Anime original with Cloba U as original character designer but he isn't the writer (Stella no Mahou was boring as fuck and the character archetypes he picked were bad), by studio Silver Link again
>New manga by Akihito Tsukushi, it's not edgy grimdark bait shit and it's slice of life, but it's actually just about five 10 year old boys and there's shirtless scenes everywhere. It gets a 12 minute short anime
>Shimeji Simulation gets adapted and it's not a 3.5 minute short but rather 12 or 24 minutes in 2023

I can expect potatoes and no noses at all. If traditional animation would still exist in the future, that is, just like in: .

Considering most of anime are Manga adaptations and the other part LN adaptation, that at least remotely copy LN art character design - nothing will change at all.

You mean Live2D? It will probably happen sooner or later. A lot R18 gacha games are using it for their animated hscenes.

Like western cartoon because garbage burger company like Netflix will take over this medium.

4:3 is a more pleasing aspect ratio than 16:9. Nothing looks good in 16:9. I can deal with most anime films being in 1.85:1 but it's not ideal.

Netflix, Amazon and even Disney if it tries to enter market still loose in influence and market to Chinese and chinese want anime to be "animeish" and mostly care about meme shows and the shows you`d not show your normalfag griends.

China does not try to influence anime, since they have strong domestic animation industry that covers needs for stuff they want on own demands - so appeal of anime for them is that its "aniime".

Meanwhile western animation and entertainment industry sucks, thus west cucks want japan to make cartoons for THEM, instead of enjoying what japan does like chinese do

CG apologists need to get burned alive or fuck off back to >i can go back to being a slavboo now
naisu

>3D trash

It's impossible to anime 3D trash like hand drawn. Hand drawn drawings are super elastic, you can user various tricks and rapid deformations without putting lot of effort to it. It's literally impossible with 3D trash without spending like 20x more time on the models. That's why everthing in 3D looks like wood, even if its hi budget work. You can't replicate hand drawn dynamics and facial expressions because this. 3D trash will be always inferior to hand drawn animation.
3D should stay in video games.

You just have no artistic sense at all. I'm unable to watch anything 3D animated because everything looks like a garbage for me. Especially with anime. The fun fact, I'm tech guy with tech brain yet still, I can't consume soulless ugly shit.

Yes, and it still looks like complete trash. Wooden trash. With super ugly surroundings, terrible facial expressions (please, don't use argument that they are gems, every fucking 3D trash has this problem) and literally 0 details like shading etc.

Nope. 2003~2009 is the best era, with he best overall character design, the best overall detail level and the best shading (continuation of 90s where shading was proper too).
Just take a look on clothes presented in 00s series. Now only hi budget series produced by competent studios have proper shading and detail amount.
I don't like VEG, it's bland like typical Netflix shit, but art wise it's really great. This is how modern technology should be used to support animation.

1 scene from 1 anime. If I remember correctly from 1 episode. Serious argument. And it still looks universes better than other studio 3D btw (especially ufo trash).

Btw, people seriously calls this dub "great"? Are amerifags deaf?

The problem is that kyoani is getting lazy. TSR had 2D mecha and those VEG CM had no CG whatsoever in them.

They need to get somebody that is good at animating mechanical objects and doesn't take an entire month key framing a 7 seconds long cut.

user, did you start watching anime post-2010? because i can only see someone thinking like this if they watched only the "best" the 00s can offer, you can't imagine how garbage the average anime that time were, especially the ones from the beginning of the millenium, most can't even get a full HD release due to how garbage and cheap the mastering process were and the transition to digital, and the "uggu" meme is very real, overall were are much better off now than in the 2000s, but i agree with your inference about shading, it definitevely was better even tho the best era shading wise was the 80s.
>I don't like VEG
don't know why you're bringing up VEG, i thought it was decent, nothing more nothing less but i really liked the sakuga moments.

The point is KyoAni used 3D always as early as from Haruhi time, still does and has one of the best 3d departments to date in industry that they developed over those years. 3D is used extensively in every single KyoAni show.

youtube.com/watch?v=YXcCVcRimt0

the story looks interresting enough. but the cheap videogame CGI really throws me off

Not him but it doesn't matter if it looks acceptable for the most part, it always drags down the overall quality of their products.
They inability to do shifting backgrounds is particularly grating on powerful scenes that use them, scenes like Kumiko's "I want to improve" and Violet's lake jump.

>AI BLOWN THE FUCK OUT

Jesus Christ, what is wrong with Miyazaki? This seems like a massive overreaction to 'hey, check out this cool little AI algorithm, what do you think?'

i wish i can still be a jadded son of a bitch like him when i reach his age

No. I started in 2002 and I watched about 1500 series (not counting specials) till today. I started watching anime because I discovered hentai and I was in love with the artstyle. I really miss big detailed eyes, fluffy skirts and mentioned earlier multi layered shading.
I'm not saying that today's design is bad, not at all. But I really prefer overall 00s art and animation style. I would still take 10s over first half of 90s,80 and 70 because of details and character design.
I know that many shit budget series were made in previous decade, but how different is it today? There's a lot of 3D garbage and ugly shit with tons of filters (like anything from Ufotable) or just low effort cash grab.

he's an artist, not a programmer, if you make a cool like algorithm that produces a creepy result then he's going to say so

And about VEG - I was talking about story and execution, not about art and animation. I mentioned about VEG art in next sentence.

Choosing Lina is better than someone from Saber Marionette.

It's impossible with 3DCG because anime style is literally not 3D.

SEGA fanboy here. Too bad that cancer doesn't look like 2D Anime.

>Watch the Darby the Elder fight again and notice that there's ton of CGI that you just don't notice
It'll never be good as actual background animation. It'll never be as cohesive.

>It's impossible with 3DCG because anime style is literally not 3D.
You are length watching "2d" anime where half of any remotely complex scenes are composed in 2d and either used as basis for keyframes or plain just retouched

Attached: ufotable.png (1386x403, 541K)

This is why Munto is so underrated. It's an absolutely gorgeous work of art with no CG whatsoever. Better visuals than Haruhi.

Ufotable
youtube.com/watch?v=K5GlCNp8pwI
(just showcase of their 3d, for TV works they usually cover it up to make less noticable)
Imashi
youtube.com/watch?v=H0XssHL6ka4&t=

Ufotable trailer to fucking "Anime guild" is mostly CG
youtube.com/watch?v=-6ElFng6kT4

MP really isn't a good example, if you pay close attention you'll notice how inconsistent one key frame is to another.
If you know you can't keep it consistent you should go full idiosyncratic like Dandy.

In that order of course

"great" animation in Kimetsu no Yaiba this season? All composed in 3D

Nostalgiafags are really the worst, for fuck's sake.

And 3D in anime started so well.

2000s was the peak of anime in my opinion.

Digital era animators can't stay on model to save their lives. It's really depressing.

Ufotable are fucking horrible. Anime guild is more shit that doesn't look like it inhabits the same space because these fuckers have no talent to draw mechanics or backgrounds.

Saw the first 2 episodes. Good story but fucking terrible visuals. Obvious and dull CG, horrible backgrounds.

The lost art of moving 2D backgrounds, not even the mighty KyoAni can make them.

3D be blessed. Hopefully it replaces QUALITY and flapping mouths

It didn't though. And cgshit isn't anime. Look at the bastard robot, it doesn't look 2D. It's closer to looking hand drawn than most 3dcg shit gets but that's as good as it ever gets. It's still looks off and weird. The problem is that it has a 3d model. It's just not the fucking same as real hand drawn mechanics. It doesn't do justice to the hand drawn aesthetic. It's not good, it's just the best shit. You can see that right user?

oh, you are trolling. nevermind

Attached: 1540731661731.webm (680x382, 2.97M)

They can, they literally do in all their shows. They can still do full 2d if they're not overly ambitious with detailed designs.

youtube.com/watch?v=NqxJ191ecPQ
See here at 0:47, they do it. They could do it more though.

>this triggers the troll

And here he is, the insane CGshit shill.

Ishidate doesn't count :^)

Now let's combine the best from each version. There perfect.

>I know that many shit budget series were made in previous decade, but how different is it today?
my problem with the last decade was the shit mastering, most anime can't even hit full hd due to cheap digital mastering, some can't even go beyond 480p while cheap anime on 16mm can even reach 4k with proper preservation (if i remember correctly), things got a little better today anime are standardrized in 780p for TV broadcasr and most get 1080p masterings for BD release (even if a lot are upscales).

why?

Seems like its taken pretty much straight from Saber Marionette

Why did you reply to me with a non sequitur? They used toon shaders on the robot to try to imitate the hand drawn aesthetic but it obviously didn't work. This is a serious problem because they treat the shit as a replacement for 2D anime when it's aesthetically insufficient.

At last i truly see.

Also check'd

>not even swapping out the ribbon
lazy

It's hilarious because the moment they increase the complexity they are forced to use CG.

I hate ufotable from the bottom of my heart. Garbage visuals, garbage direction, garbage music and garbage story telling. There's literally nothing that they are even remotely good at.
And that PV looks like a trash, especially character. Look at level of (non existing) detail, look at all these shiny shit. And almost non existing shading. Literal trash. Thay are as garbage as GoHands.

>Cgi
The cancer that is killing animation, it never ever looks good.
It killed western animation and is now coming to Anime.
I was watching the new Dragon movie and the first half of the movie looked fantastic then it suddenly looked like a PS3 DBZ game.

As much as I hate Akira's character design, the animation itself is a fucking masterpiece.
But don't forget that almost every existing studio at that time was involved in this production.

Only real benefit of the last decade is that full HD digital slowly became a thing. Technically 00s shows were inferior but I'd rather have technical flaws like with DVD-only movies than systemic flaws like the switch to almost 100% single cour and the loss of hand-drawn mechas.

can't they just trace 3d models for that final "hand made" touch

Attached: 1552605979810.jpg (259x405, 81K)

Your 80s looks like Sailor Mars, a character from the 90s.

A better example would be Lum

This is how moeblob shows look like right now.

It doesn't looks like smelly crap, but it still looks bad.

Wow. So many man of culture anons here today. Last time when I chacked thread about 3D trash there were many idiots who ejaculated to HnK trash animation and art.and they called it a masterpiece.

Unfortunately NO, it just wont look right. It's just doesn't look right. Retouching the shading by hand just shows what CEL shaded 3DCG could look like at it's best, which is sill never good enough because the problem is the 3D model itself. Anime uses 2D transformations to represent 3D objects, there are not 3D models in anime. By replacing frames in quick succession, it creates the illusion of a model.

The real tragedy here is that people like you are allowed to vote. Imagine volunteering to eat a plate of steaming shit just to see other people being disgusted at eating a plate of steaming shit.

>Thay are as garbage as GoHands.
GoHands are GodHands. The only studio to truly advance anime into future. They are too far ahead of their time to be appreciated by people living now.

South Park is something like Moho or Cel Action I believe. Moho you can rig for head turns etc but I'm not sure if the typical 'anime' style would translate well to that kind of program. Aggetsuko etc definitely used this kind of software though.

Do you know what's funny. Lower resolution means more details ironically. Of course. Ot always. Just take a look on Non Non Biyori (attached image), but in most cases series released with 480p or wide screen DVD only had way more details than today's full HD.

Attached: a02c7ae5-2aa5-46cc-a350-6b87a25e4b54.jpg (1920x1080, 1.24M)

This actually looks a lot worse than any of Ufoshit series. Holy crap what a disaster. Do you really don't see how ugly it is? It lokks like low budget 3d game from early 00.

How about Guilty Gear Xrd/Dragon Ball FighterZ?
That shit looked legit anime, but was a pain to correctly animate, otherwise was a fucking mess with the default shaders.

k.

Keep watching Bones sakuga blocks and copy paste scenes and effects and think you know shit about animation.

First link is the epitome of the cancer. Get some taste.
Also, shiny fight scenes with a lot of camera movement and flashing objects (Ufotable TM btw) is not good art.

It's true; Hand Shakers is a masterpiece most people just aren't ready for. In time they will see.

not him, FUCK THAT MEME. It still doesn't look like anime. It doesn't even look as good as 3DCGshit models retouched by hand like in the Precure movie. The problem is the fucking 3D mode. Didn't you see the hair on the girls head in the game? It looks weird, it doesn't look like anime. It looks wrong.

Their newest shit looks like garbage (Carol and Sunday or what's it called), everthing starting from 3D trash instruments through ugly surroundings and atrociously ugly character design. I don't remember when was the last time when they did proper animation. And even if they are doing proper animation, character design is super simplified and just ugly, so no thanks. And I don't even give a shit about action shounen series.
But still, their series manages to looks better than any of your shiny GoHands trash.

They can't stay on model because they grew with the "undo" function.
Back then if you fucked up on the final touches of a cel frame you had no undo button to click on, you had to start all over again and feel the pain of being mentally impaired.

This style is actually beautiful. Look at that intro.

(after new game screen)

This. Carol and Tuesday was dreadful.

>3D trash instruments
I was honestly revolted that japan's second best actually put out that dreck.

>I don't remember when was the last time when they did proper animation.
Chaika had come impressive cuts. Also soul eater background sakuga.

youtube.com/watch?v=NCqqluVhxFk

There's something really fucking ugly and cute about this specific artstyle, it's like looking at a pug dog.

>70's
I was expecting something akin to Mazinger, Rose of Versailles, Harlock or some shit, not.. that.

Yeah, but as I said, character design is awfully oversimplified.

Guess what? YOU are the one who is soulless.
That's why you can't appreciate things for their soul, and only care about appearance and how pretty it is.

>CGI
>soul

>3D
>Soul
Fuck off blindfag.

>defending 3d cancer
not him, kill yourself nigger. I respect Anime as an artform and art is meant to be primarily appreciated for it's beauty.

True. I guess anything more detailed poses too much of a challenge for them.

Go back to

Literally the only TV anime where CGI looks acceptable is Dennou Coil, and they even worked in and intentionally played along with the concept of how CGI looks jarring compared to handdrawn animation.

Based Ironic shitposter.

You're an invalid if you think 3D inherently can't have soul.
Guess you missed out on the fact videogames exist, and lots of 3D games have had good art direction.

The problem is that animation studios are themselves soulless. You expect a product with soul from a soulless being. It's an exercise in absurdity.

You only think 2D has soul to it because you yourselves are soulless brainlets who confuse pretty for having a soul.

In games you're literally exploring 3D locations and characters models must be 3d. But even if, games like Persona or Xenoblade (2) uses beautiful 2D sprites for dialogue sections. Think about it why.

Here's Homura for example.

Attached: 052f28c1-be40-4193-8b9e-9228f4941414.jpg (1280x720, 340K)

I just want them to fuck off from thinking that, that aesthetically inadequate shit is an acceptable replacement for anime. It's not. They try to pretend slapping toon shaders onto cgshit looks like traditional but it fucking doesn't. I just want to ensure that I will still have my 30 2D anime every season like we've had for 40 years.

70's had like 2 frames per second and every time a character speaks, they're shown from behind

>uses beautiful 2D sprites for dialogue sections.
lmao you're soullessness is showing, npc
>Think about it why.
Because they would rather draw a couple of still images and be done with it rather than have to animate body language animations.
It has more to do with budget than art direction.

What specific factors have made anime more expensive to produce now than it was in decades past that 3DCG is even considered? In the 70s and 80s it wasn't uncommon for a single original TV series to be 50-70+ episodes long. Generally length decline to around 25/26 episodes by the 90s and the concept of 12-13 episode "cours" wasn't evne a thing until the late 00s.

I vaguely remember Sazae-san finally stopped using cels after the ink companies shut down or the chemical production became unfeasible..

not him. doesn't mean the style cant be done with better production values, obviously.

And here is Makoto

>calling other people npc
>defending 3D trash
Wow.

They just want to use the cheapest production method possible. That's why they moved from CEL to digital and now why some of these bastards are trying so hard to force 3dcg down our throats. They care more about maximising profits than making art.

It's been years and I STILL haven't seen any anime clip that touches this level of 2.5/3d and yes I've seen all of them..I think.
youtube.com/watch?v=KZi0neoZJfM&t
The kaguya ED was almost there but that's about it.

not him but holy shit you are fucking braindead. Only the 2D art can properly express the characters style and aesthetic beauty.

>rather than have to animate body language animations
Takes like 5 seconds when you have an already made cgshit model. even less with motion capture rotoscoping. The only use 3d models in game because the fucking have to for free roam.

>pretty good, ugly bad!
You are an npc my man
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_effect

I'm sorry but it's ugly and still wooden.

>competition for what piece of garbage is the least shit
precure still looks absolutely terrible

>Only the 2D art can properly express the characters style and aesthetic beauty.
You sound like the same kind of retard that says only Japanese can make anime, and anyone else that attempts the artstyle is inherently inferior. Lots of those types on Yea Forums

it's a 2d style you thick bastard. it cant be produced with a 3d model

You gave a good example. Report and ignore my man, he's a troll.

But that's true. Anime is not only about artstyle, but also voice acting (which is as important as visuals - that's why all dubfags are retarded and their opinions have literally no value), direction style tropes etc. Anime is highly dependent on Japanese popculture, foreign people will never be able anime inspired series that would feel like actual anime.
I'm sorry, but you reeks of hufe normalfag.

This. Fuck dubs, fuck cg and fuck black characters in anime.

Attached: 37943892347589.gif (480x269, 3.04M)

That's not fair, if it improved any more it would be Disney tier.

>and fuck black characters in anime.
?

Attached: 008.png (430x397, 212K)

that guy is clearly blue and black and white shit doesn't count. also them becoming more prominent is the issue. that oriental side character is fine.

I think that this user mean black people in pure Japanese setting, especially SOL/music/romance series.
It doesn't change the fact that dubs are still made for complete braindead ignorant retards.

That's basically just rotoscoping which looks like shit.

Everyone above this post is a huge fucking nerd. Get owned.

Here's your (you), my hero of the internet.

M-masaka.

KyoAni just took off its glove and slapped you in the face with it. We'll find out soon enough if it really is impossible.
