I don't have a daki but I have two pillows I keep at either side of me on each arm when I sleep on my back, or hug one in any other position.

I own one, of my wife. I cleaned it today and it's drying off right now so I'll have the cover on tomorrow. I hug her, sometimes kiss her, it's very nice. Use a DHR6000 for filling if you can, they're the most comfortable of all the ones I've used. Also don't be an ironic weeb and buy one of those shitty $30 knock off Chinese covers, get a custom one made or buy the official ones.

I always wondered why dakimakuras aren't more popular. Even in buyfag threads, most people will stick with figures. Daki covers aren't that expensive compared to a figure and can actually be used (sleep, cuddly, kiss, naughty), so I don't understand why they aren't more prevalent.

Great for sleeping, have one of my waifu. Biggest problem with them is that I never want to get out of bed when cuddling with her. Hoping to get a new one of her soon to.

I think the issue is that it's a pretty big jump overall. Lots of normalfags on here, so the jump from "haha it's just an action figure" to "hugging pillow" is pretty big. Not only that but there's a lot of care that's involved as well as the costs for it.You're looking at like $120~ for the pillow itself and usually $80-$120 (more depending on rarity of the case) on the case. A lot of figures you just put off in a case, and dust every so often. But dakimakuras need to be washed, cleaned, etc. Plus it's also a matter of hygiene as well.

Unironically though, ever since I got a dakimakura of my waifu, I've been getting self conscious about whether she would actually want to sleep with me so I started improving myself.

I'll get one of my waifu eventually,i'll start with figures and other merch as i work my way up to that,it's a pretty big step to take,you have to build up to it,you know

Anybody tried the inner from dakimakuri? They said its comparable to the DHR7000. I have the DHR6000 & thinking of getting that one for my 2nd purchase.

What's the price on it? If it's cheaper than the DHR6000 than it might be worth a shot, only because I don't have the extra cash to drop on one of those again. Could ask around on the jay since that's where dakimakura discussion tends to happen.

I'm lucky enough to have 6 different daki covers of mai waifu. Can't get cozy enough when I slide in my bed and give her a big, loving hug.

You can check Jap stores, official ones are usually 8000-12000 yen depending on the material. You can check on amiami just for price reference: amiami.com/eng/search/list/?s_cate3=187&page=&pagemax=50

A majority of the cost will be in the pillow itself, and searching down for your case. If it's sold out you're better off checking YJA, mandarake to see if the character you want has a cover, otherwise you'll have to commission one or find one. (Usually the fakes look awful, and they're printed on shitty material) I'd recommend using the buyfag guide buyfags.moe/List_of_shops#Dakimakura

100 bucks isn't bad for a top shelf quality pillow, and that's without the added art.
You know what you are right, these do look official, they look a lot better than what you find on english speaking sites... which is weird cause those have a lot of people vouching for them and advertising them...

Yeah I get it now. These are a lot better looking. I'm moving soon, so I won't be buying right now, but still this is very good stuff for reference, gonna favorite these

I got mine from Mandarake, I paid 13000 yen for the cover. It's an official cover, though she has a handful of them. Commissioning I wouldn't know what to do, though some artists put up stuff on pixiv, google translate might suffice just to make a sale though. Also, sure this is an older picture though.

They're on now, this was just after I moved into the apartment so everything was bare bones and I just got the cover in that day.

Mandarake ships worldwide and they have an English version of the website.(so you can just order straight from there) YJA and a few other sites need a middleman but even so they are relatively cheap at like 500 yen usually. The pillow itself, I used a DHR6000 which is probably the best you can get I paid around $170 including shipping.
