Can I peddle my crackpot plot prediction here? I really think the manga is going to have a big twist and reveal Kokushibou is a bigger problem than Muzan. Kokushibou's line about being a stickler for hierarchy could give a reasonable explanation for why he obeyed Muzan too. Plus I think it's more likely that Muzan dies vs Muzan capturing Nezuko and her dying/getting written out of the story.

My crackhead theory is that Kokushibou is actually Tanjiro's dad that Muzan brought back from the dead through some demon blood magic shenanigans and had him murder his own family to extinguish the breath of sun. He's he only demon that displays displays shattered speech patterns which could be explained by some sort of imperfect resurrection and him leaving Nezuko and Tanjiro alive could be explained a final act of his human persona. I don't think this is the way Wani will take the plot, but I think it would be a spicy twist none the less. Anyway screencap this incase im right. It was stated that an uppermoon had not been killed by the demon slayers for hundreds of years, but they havent been unchanged per se. We know that Douma became a demon long after Akaza and over took him. Koku could've done something similar and just shanked the previous number one which would make him even more intimidating. But again thats my complete crackhead theory and I wouldn't at all be surprised if I'm completely wrong.

Animeonlyfag here, I really liked the anime and after today's episode I decided to read ahead on the manga and is it just me or is the teacher kind of shit at teaching and is also (maybe unintentionally?) an asshole?
First he gave some really vague instructions about how to train in his style of swordmanship (Tanjiro only knew more about it once the ghost girl explained it to him)
Second he then totally abandoned Tanjiro for 1+ year, effectively slowing down his training progress
Third even though Tanjiro memorized the swordmanship technique, he most likely knew Tanjiro wasn't properly putting the technique into practice yet he never bothered to help or correct him during his training in slicing the boulder, and if it weren't for the ghost children he would never realize that and would keep doing muscle training until he sliced the boulder with sheer muscle strength
Fourth he just let the demon who was killing all his previous disciples roam free for years, and judging by the way he trained Tanjiro you can see why his previous disciples died fighting a low tier demon.

Urokodaki didn't know about the Hand demon. Urokodaki also didn't even want to send Tanjirou to the final selection, cutting the rock was supposed to be impossible. He was tired of seeing all these kids he cared for wind up dead.

High user here from the previous posts, I'm still pretty high so take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt. Urokadaki and the rest of demon hunters didn't know about the demon that was killing his pupils. It's stated that a demon of that level wasn't supposed to be in the selection and that it was purposefully hiding out and preying on Urokadaki's pupils for decades, which is why he survived and grew for so long. As for the rest of your points the training was supposed to make tanjiro as self sufficient and adaptable as possible for his demon slaying career, but Uro is largely kind of an asshole/tough love kind of teacher. Feel free to correct me if im wrong, again still pretty high.

And since demons grow stronger after eating humans, there should've been routine checks on the demons on the prowling inside the testing ground after they finished feasting on the weaker participants to prevent something like the hand demon abusing the testing ground for an easy feast.

There is a Tanjiro flashback memory in chapter 100 I think, it appears Tanjiro’s dad talking with a swordman that looks exactly like Kokushibo/the first Sunbreath user.

It’s likely that Kokushibo is who killed Tanjiro family, he must have high amount of Muzan blood.

It wasn't Tanjirou's dad, probably a distant ancestor.

They have been unchanged for 113 years according to Hantengu when they reunite right after Daki and Gyutaro deaths.

Yes, human soldiers are not enough which is why they don't bother drafting them. The Pillars are enough and do most of the heavy lifting. Just read the fucking manga if it bothers you. You'll see at the end of the spider arc (around Chapter 40ish) that Tanjiro and his pals are all total losers that are just meant to deal with low-level threats while the Pillars are spread out over the country doing the real work with ease. Even in 2019 people don't care if their neighbors are being executed, this isn't even close to the level of a national emergency.

Other than the overuse of cg models, it's a solid adaptation.

The people that knows about the existence of demons are the countryside folks, and the government doesn't give a fuck about what "superstituous old-fashioned countryside people" say.

Problem is the demons never show themselves. You try to do that with an actual high tier demon and everyone there will be slaughtered with no survivors or any traces of the humans there.
