Subs drop in an hour. Time for more comfy Adachi!
MIX: Meisei Story
But why? Every story this guy writes is a string of exactly the same plots enacted by exactly the same characters. If you've seen one, you've seen them all.
Theres a new season of Cross Game? Cool
if you don't want to watch it, no one is forcing you.
Literally watched Touch for the first time last year lmao.
and, did you like it?
Yes, quite a lot actually. I read the manga ending the other day since it differs a bit but both were plenty satisfying.
I had forgotten we had Miyuki on TV in my third world country when I was a kid, so I started watching that the other day.
>looks like someone from cross game
>same author
I might check it out. Please tell me someone doesnt die very early
what's up with cross game being babby's first adachi series?
I don't understand. how'd it become the most entry-level series of his?
Adachi reuses the same dozen character designs in every manga, which can be confusing if you read them back to back.
>this guy writes is a string of exactly the same plots enacted by exactly the same characters
imagine being wrong
why do you keep posting this shit every fucking Mix thread? just fuck off already.
You have to be an oldfag or have a specific interest in his works to have read/watched Touch or H2, while Cross Game manga and anime ran fairly recently and were decently popular.
Beside Mix, isnt Cross Game the most recent work that got adapted into anime?
are all anime adaptations of Mitsuru's work well done or should I be reading them instead?
Cross Game is the only Adachi series to get licensed in English, for manga.
Katsu anime when?
Cross Game was really good. Touch is decent, but can be a bit difficult to watch if you have a low tolerance for cheap 80s animation with all of its cost-cutting. Never finished H2 so wouldn't comment on it.
I might be misremembering, but Cross Game's 2009 anime is the most recent Adachi adaptation aside from Mix itself. That, and it has a showstopping first episode, which helped with making people stick with the series until the end.
Adachi's works haven't been licensed for the most part, so Cross Game is also an exception in that regard.
Having said that, I don't think there's anything wrong with it becoming the go-to Adachi series. It's a solid story, on par with his other works.
touch is kino.
>[HorribleSubs] Mix - Meisei Story - 03 [1080p].mkv
Holy shit, a side shot of a character's face?
For the most part, yes. They're usually faithful to the source material, and Adachi's artstyle is easy to adapt. Usually, they're also complete adaptations, so you're not missing anything if you watch the anime instead of reading the manga.
One notable exception of this is H2. H2 was serialised from 1992 to 1997, with 338 chapters and 34 volumes. The anime aired from 1995 to 1996 with 41 episodes, and basically ends on a cliffhanger. It's not a bad anime, but it is an incomplete adaptation.
so, have we got a confirmed episode count for this yet? I'm gonna be absolutely pissed if it's only 12 episodes.
WOAH OHHH
It's a bit jarring to see an Adachi character with a smartphone in his hands.
we /21st century/ now.
T-thanks
I haven't read the manga, but will the brothers end up going to different high schools & competing against each other?
We all know one is going to die. Probably the pitcher.
I heard no one has died so far in the manga, though.
I've only read up to chapter 23. They're still together, for now.
I guess they are being voiced by different seiyuu im this remake, right?
>remake
It's not a remake.
What the fuck is his problem?
Because he's right?
Hold on, then what exacly is this, then? I was told this was a new adaptation of the manga.
Basically, MIX isn't a remake of Touch, it's a series that's set 30 or so years after Touch. The school is the same, and some side characters return later on in the story, but for all intents and purposes, it's a separate series, barely a sequel.
So Mitsuya and Hidaka might return for this, right?
In any case, I should check out on this. I was under the false impression this was simply a remake adaptation. Only horrible subs is working on this, right?
>it's 2019 but Adachi perverts are stuck in the 80s
I guess you can't expect a 68-year-old ma to change his writing habits too much.
Yes, they might. I haven't kept up with the manga, tohugh, so I wouldn't know for sure.
Aside from the usual rippers, Commie is subbing it.
Got a chuckle out of me.
Why do Sou-chan and Tou-chan bully this poor monkey boy? Even if he's interested in Otomi romantically (debatable), his motives are pure. He doesn't deserve it.
Well, they're older brothers, it's only natural for them to be protective of their little sister, especially since she wasn't always the sociable, confident girl she is right now. Adding to that, they've had to fend off dipshit kids for years now, they'd bully anyone indiscriminately at this point.
Loving it so far.
So how long until we get past the shitty ace and manager arc?
he's not.
I have a feeling the 'shitty ace' will start to apply himself seriously.
ok, but WHAT the fuck?
scary
looks like acting-principal from cross game
With how they're adapting it, it should be done in 3 or 4 episodes. It's a fairly short "arc", we'll get to the meat of the story in a few weeks.
>muh awards
>muh first episode
Is this (not)incest?
Guess it's because the anime for Touch is too old (but great) and H2 also being old and incomplete. Plus Cross Game has a strong hook in the beginning compared to his other series taking it's time to develop it's characters and story.
damn...i love adachi. his stuff is kind of samey but if it's awesome that i don't see a problem. loved h2, touch, cross game, and his manga series short program. now sure how i missed this but glad you brought it to my attention.
Is this another retarded love triangle?
adachi has never written a love triangle though
Sorry. I meant love pentagon.
lazy
>That DNR
Everyone here should read Rough. It aint about baseball and has the best cast of any Adachi series.
Wasn't Miyuki one?
Does it have a satisfying ending, though?
miyuki sucked
I liked it in spite of step bullshit but that's beside the point.
blame Group TAC
Still mad about the last minute asspull.
nice episode
He was threatened with rioting if the sister didn't win.
not sure if you're trolling but the common thematic between all of the shots (minus 2nd row middle which is great too, but not following the same logic) is the light and dark contrast, with a very easy to perceive meaning if you've seen the episode.
It is simple but it is effective
