I never thought I would say it, but the BM Pirates are way more impressive than the Beast Pirates. It might be because we saw more of the BM Pirates, but the Beast Pirates just make stupid decisions like not killing off all of their opponents. Instead, they decide to group them all together in a big ass prison. Not to mention, the Beast Pirates also got a heads up that in 20 years, shit is going down, but everyone besides Orochi aren't taking it seriously. Oh yeah, if you join the Beast Pirates, there is a 95% chance that you'll be disabled for the rest of your life with a shitty devil fruit. Kaido can't even keep his most of his citizens happy unlike Big Mom. While Big Mom could go on the occasional tantrum, I'll take that over drunk Kaido blowing shit up because I could at least rebuild Whole Cake Island's buildings relatively quick with people like Perospero around. All in all, the Beast Pirates are a fucking joke. At least you can party all day with Shanks or Blackbeard too. You can't do that with Kaido.

Birdcage was a passive threat up until when Doffy and Trebol were the only ones left, and only became a thing people had to actively combat for 10 chapters. Compare that to Big Mom's hunger pangs which spanned for nearly 30 chapters, and it was nowhere near as bad. Not to mention you had multiple moving plot threads happening that warranted attention and time for the arc to pan out naturally. If more time was cut then Oda would have to offscreen even more details, which is something I remember people complaining about when that arc was going on.

First day of Wano is the first day of Reverie (i. e. the day kings actually sat together, as the news of the royalty gathering the day before is read by SHs). Blackbeard mentions the news of fourth day of Reverie arriving in the morning, making it the fifth day of Reverie when he says that. No time passing is mentioned, so we may assume we're at the same moment when we return to Wano. Hence Orochi's party and Sanji vs Faget happen on the fifth day, Zoro vs Gyukimaru/Kamazou and Onsen visit is the sixth day, and now we're on the sixth night/seventh day. Now the question really is if "two weeks" includes the first day or not.

More than being a family, the key difference between the 2 crews is that the BMP have some noblesse oblige going on. They feel they have a duty toward the people they rule. When Oven beat up Lola he explained it was for the sake of the country. The entire family tries to make it so no one gets harmed by BM's tantrum or foreign pirates antics. The BMPs see the WCI people as their people, while the Beast Pirates only see the Wano people as an indigenous work force. The BMPs are closer to ideal non scummy noblemen in mindset (not just in mindset they literally rank themselves based on order of birth and just having BM's blood gives you a rank and a position in the government), while Kaidou's crew are just bullies, the typical kind that thrives in fascist states.
