This. I can't exactly pinpoint what it is but something about their relationship feels just natural. Irrespective of whether they treat each other as friends, people who are only using one another to lick their wounds or as genuine lovers it just feels like they truly understand one another on a different level. I never thought I would accept Reiji ending up with someone other than Touko but Miki did too good of a job for me to just downplay the importance of this relationship.
