Tried my best to make it through the abridged version. Gave up midway(I think?) through the shinobi war arc because it was pure shit. Shippuden in general is a fat chode.

This, but I dropped it the second Jiraya was killed. It just stopped being fun and Pain was a dumb villain. I have read the whole manga more recently, though, and that really was when it started going downhill really quickly.

At that point both Naruto and Sasuke had completed their character arcs and should’ve prepared for a final battle. But due to the amount of money it was raking in, they had to bring back a bunch of characters and turn a few lose ends into a bloated power escalating war arc. There was no long term plot plan and you could see the author writing himself into a corner in real time with that Obito and Madara shit.

I could totally see the whole Tobi thing being planned, but everything else was a huge mess. The ninja war like 10 or so volumes were miserable and even the kinda cool fanservice with the edo tensei like bringing back the swordsman or the kyuubi hosts didn't make it that much better.

naruto i dropped after the first filler arc. shippuden i dropped during one of the first fights with sakura and some old lady fighting a puppet guy. was just boring as fuck.

Dropped it when Sakura was fighting the puppet dude. I was angry about it for some reason, don't really remember why.
