I also believe Devil power is region-based, since before they were trapped, the Infinity devil was barely a small ass homunculus, but then after they're trapped forever, Kobeni and her stupid ass fear, made him stronger, since she was close and utterly terrified of it. That's why Aki says "he started to grow", because their fear was growing aswell.
That also explains the OP-city of gun devil, I mean fear of guns is almost universal, and based on the places he attacked (mostly cities), it really makes sense.

There's more than likely a true reason why they are hunting down the devils and the hunter organization is just taking advantage. I think before Makima being the last boss the organization itself will be the penultimate boss or a big future antagonist. It could be a good arc especially for characters like Hayakawa and Himeno who have spent nearly their entire lives working for it.

Chainsaw Man by far. Fire Punch is just too strange and foriegn to work well as an anime, whereas Chainsaw Man is fairly normal so far and wouldn't really lose any of its qualities in being adapted. And I fully expect it to be adapted one day, but no way Fire Punch is.

It could also be that the gun devil fragment was in the infinity devil's "heart" which it explicitly kept outside of its stomach. But more likely there's a second, maybe weaker devil, that was fed the gun devil fragment as a decoy to drag in strong devil hunters, and their entire team is severely weakened.
