Even in your gif while keyframes are all good, most of it is slideshow because they are so few. Half the animation is a slideshow covered in special effects due to it.

The production quality of OPM S2 is terrible because marketing factors pressured the team into producing the anime with absurdly short deadlines. That's all. If Madhouse produced it properly we would have gotten the S2 broadcasted on around 2021 or something. That's what you get for attempting to capitalize on success as immediately as possible.

Objectively? Doragon Boru, Wan Pissu, Pokemon, Gandamu. Those happen to be immensely successful as they make a profit of their own on top of being commercials for vastly profitable and long-standing toy lines/video games. Everything else either just does one and not the other, barely scraps by (most seasonal garbage) or is just a minor hit in comparison (OPM, MHA).

It's been years without reading it but I still remember his fight with Golden Ball and Mustache Knight or something. How fucking awesome it was to see him parrying and dodging the balls in that alley and then narrowly getting the sword dude with some impressive angles... And all of Murata's effort will go to the trash, we likely won't even know what happened with their 30 imposed frames under a second.

First season aired 4 years ago and its animation was something special and a beauty to behold. Second season has finally started airing but it it's not made by the same studio, and it's a shitshow in pretty much every department.

This "60fps" looks horrible. They just made the frames shake and fade out to the next, sometimes they also distort the images. It is painful to look at because the actual animation is still 12 fps at max and they force 5 more frames of garbage to reach 60.

As the other user said s1 set a pretty high standard and was a good adaptation. S2 is not made by the same team plus the fact of production issues which lead to it being mediocre to bad so far.

It's bad but still fun. Literally the only thing that kills it is Saitama's voice. Genos' actor appears to be a naturally talented voice actor, but Saitama's actor isn't. He needs a good director to keep him in character it seems which the director for that is most likely different in season 2. He sounds so uninspired and literally like they told him "just act really bored" to copy his boredom personality in the first season.

The direction is the biggest flaw of S2. Due to them having no real time to get anything straight or prepare they rush everything they have to make these episodes. Last episode had 5 directors for animation alone so yeah direction is all over the place. Not only the VA have suffer but everything and pacing suffers tremendously.

Most people only watched OPM for its animation and not it's story. It doesn't take this season to really show or notice such a thing(especially people on Twitter complaining about no sakuga) I for one hand like story and animation but this season's direction with stuff isn't cutting it. Its not the worst thing in existence but its damn noticeable what its flaws are and its barely decent.

Saitama and Garou have similar starts to their motivations on opposite sides, but that's about it. The most they can do without inserting fucking flashbacks mid-fight is to give Garou the eye-shine that S1 used to symbolise motivation/obsession.
