Violet is legitimately one of the most boring KyoAni girls in their long history of good girls. She's a beautiful character design, although the blonde hair blue eyes thing is so cookie cutter beautiful it makes her already flat personality look even more wish-fulfillment. She is outshined in her own story when compared to her personality and looks, meaning that I find her world and her place in it to be exceedingly more interesting than her herself.

She's Yuki Nagato but made to shamelessly cash in on being a saberclone. Saber, who has near infinite more personality and charm than Violet.

Given that her name is in the title, it was well received, and many consider it to be the first truly HD anime in history (whatever that means), I'd say it'll still be remembered.

Saber will still be remembered as well, but with the way TM is going I'm not sure if it'll be for good reasons.

Yes people actually like VEG. Why some people waifu her is what baffles me. She's a dandere and a rather bland one. She's just that, where as good anime characters don't stick only in that one archetype. Take the Fate girls, they all break out of their archetypes frequently.

It had good subplots per episode with the side characters. But literally removing Violet from the story wouldn't do much to the emotional punches. She's just an empty vessel to witness the war drama. Maybe that is what the writers were going for but it doesn't change the fact she, the titular character, is largely uneccessary.

But hey it looks pretty, so it's a 10/10 apparently.
