That throughout the beginning of the story it saved her numerous times.

You're getting this backwards, anime genres, in general, start off fresh then get flanderized as time goes on until it gets deconstructed which just creates another sub-genre with another set of overused tropes.

The isekai genre was already being done in the 90's of girls ending up in fantastical worlds, some being escapisms(Fushigi Yuugi) while others more serious(Twelve Kingdoms). Now we're in the complete shit phase but the difference is every new Isekai story pretends to subvert the genre by breaking the 4th wall or being self aware so I doubt we'll get anything completely genre-redefining for a good while.
