Daily reminder to please not lump in Shigure/Akito with the two other big age gap ships in this series. Yes there's a gap but its more akin to the HaruRin gap than Tohru's parents or Uo and Kureno.
Akito's age has never been definitively confirmed, all we know for sure is that she's somewhere "in her 20's." Likewise Shigure is 26.
The gap is likely 4 years at the most, which isn't that bad. NOT 6+

When you break it down the amount of bad stuff that happened to her was comparatively less than the other ones in really shitty spots, and unlike some of the sufferers she had a lot redeeming her shit life.
I can't really speak on magnitude and I think it's fair that people handle things differently and one person might feel a lot worse about something, but it's hard to think of a mindset where-in you'd think Rin had it worse than either Kyo or Yuki depending on what your personal value of happiness is.
