At what point exactly did you realize that Monogatari grew repetitive, stale and ultimately boring?

Just who are you kidding?
Interesting. Follow up question: how would you have ended it all for good? Would you prefer a blood bath, or a happily lived ever after? Maybe both?

It didn't. Nise was it's low point.

Fuck off, faggot. Not everything that is triggering you is fuckn bait.

Hana/Tsuki, then Owari 1 renewed my love for the series.

My entire experience with thw franchise is the first 20 seconds of monogatari and the first two kizumonogatari movies at a film fest. I realised within those first 20 seconds that the entire series is utter trash with no tedeeming qualities, and that was confirmed with kizu.

Agree with user here, except when it comes to the novels. I actually have really enjoyed every one of the novels and especially Hana to my surprise. Gonna see if that transfers over to Tsuki but overall Owari 1, 2 and Zoku were fantastic

Since the first one until Shinobu flashes her nipples and my mind went blank.

Kabukimonogatari. Neko was all right but I didn't like anything after

I like it for the ecchi, so never

I kind of expect that to happen with the post ZokuOwari stuff, but it hasn't happened yet. Of course, I also wouldn't be surprised if that stuff is great as usual considering Nisio's track record.

never.
on another note, what are some similar anime ? where the show mostly narrate the novel ?

>Did you guys really like Zoku?
Yeah a lot. The only arcs I dislike are Hana and some Cats ones.

Monogatari is like 90% filler. If you didn't pick this up by episode one you might have an extra chromosome.

>where the show mostly narrate the novel ?
What did she mean by this?

If you're marathoning it can be boring but I think pacing yourself with it makes it a fun show. Used to think it was the most dullest trash when a friend overhyped it but it grew on me.

I now have an extensive Shinobu folder.

Zoku was cool. In fact all seasons have been great except for Hana. That was boring.
I pray for a future filled with more gatari.

Good taste.

Where does Koyomi Vamp fall in this?

God I wish I had one

Hana is the best Second Season arc though.

You were so close user.
Either swap them or make End an 8.
You may think Koimonogatari was the best but it just means you forgot the sheer amount of boring parts in it. Go rewatch the episode where Kaiki talks to Hanekawa without falling asleep

By the time the season where maths appears I got a strong feeling of "this is all drama for the sake of it" and lost a lot of interest.

based

>I do not know what filler means

During Monogatari second season
I can't believe it took me that long

Try Tatami Galaxy if you haven't seen it already. "Dialogue" is like 70% MC narration and it's great.

Season 1

This. FPBP.

why is this anime so pretentious

BASED

Because you don't know what pretentious means

Hana is phenomenal you plebs

because the author is trying ti ripoff boogiepop, but he has nothing interesting to say

It's never too late to start, user.

What else do you expect? Hana is a pleb filter

Koyomimonogatari is the real pleb filter.
I feel so bad for the people who don't realise that its peak monogatari

I watched bake, Hana, all 3 Kizu, neko, nise. I got to to owari and I just couldn’t anymore after repeated attempts.

Go watch it right now and just finish off the series.

Final season.

And that's why you missed those quints.

Maybe I will try again. I used to really love it. I was thinking about reading the novels too.

Shaft should've animated this, fucking wasted potential.

Also a good idea.
I would also honestly suggest watching it all again from the start. I think you really get a new appreciation for monogatari by watching it a second time

>he wants even more headtilts

I marathoned the whole thing in a couple months and I was entertained every step of the way

Attached: 1555219191859.webm (704x640, 371K)

Headtilts would be better than the disaster of an adaption that happened

Yknow I wouldn’t mind doing this. You recommend chronological or airing order?

Attached: B5BE7C7D-F8AC-452B-BB51-EDC994F09EA3.jpg (1500x844, 788K)

It depends. I watched it again in airing order but that was because I watched it with someone else.
Even so, one thing rewatching did do for me even in airing order was helping me understand second series's timeline
So either is fine.

I watched it as they were all airing originally

this, although i was bored in the beginning of bake but then i got hooked

>I marathoned the whole thing in a couple months and I was entertained every step of the way
Same, I had to travel a bunch last year so I watched the entire thing over hours and hours of flying. I bought a VR headset for my phone so I can watch anime on the plane without embarrassing myself (more than I had to). It owned.

>it's another zoku episode
>araragi puts on girl stuff from ougi, grrrr, as a joke, haha, based louigi
>mfw no mirror gahara to laugh at him
they fucked it all up

What was the first movie/special? Thats when I lost interest I think

So is Kaiki still alive or what?

He wasn't in the mirror world, meaning raragi had no regrets. Which means Kaiki is cool. No surprise there.

Attached: 125920242201.jpg (705x720, 68K)

>Monogatari is like 90% filler.
... but it's all a direct adaptation from a light novel. There are no anime original episodes.
What the fuck do you mean filler?

>>mfw no mirror gahara to laugh at him
He has no regrets about Senjogahara though. He's 100% satisfied with how she turned out and his situation with her, so there's no mirror gahara.

Okay, here's what should have happened. Instead of Ougi falling out of the window, Rararagi should have been the one falling, in his girly cloths, which would be the transition back, where gahara would catch him (it rhymes, and what rhymes is good). cue laughing at him for a whole week.

I don't even like Shinobu but holy fucking shit that pic

>I don't even like Shinobu

Attached: 1544232499297.gif (470x395, 1.01M)

Zoku was more interesting that hana and owari.

I lost interest in with Hana and could never get back into it after. I can't even rewatch the parts I used to enjoy. In retrospect, I was bored with half of the series up until that point with only a few arcs being good

Weird I pretty much marathoned the whole thing and didn't find it boring at all. Then again I really enjoyed the weird art house feel to it.

From Nise to Neko Black, the series is at its absolutely lowest point. The majority of "Second Series" is quality and it has a very strong ending. Hana and Tsuki are also mediocre, but Owari (particularly the second half) is peak Monogatari. I guess I'm saying there's no one point to "realize" that, because most people who don't really like it drop it during Nise, and the rest of it has very high peaks until the end.

Doubt it. Can pretty much guarantee you nodded off a few times.

Attached: b2f.jpg (680x447, 26K)

the series peaked with S2 and anybody who tells you otherwise is copeposting because they invested a little over 100 episodes worth of their free time into this garbage

Attached: 1554108226895.jpg (960x540, 69K)

Nise is great if your into incest and wanted to jack off. I just wanted to know what was happening with this fake dude.

>and anybody who tells you otherwise is copeposting because they invested a little over 100 episodes worth of their free time into this garbage
Over 10 years which less than a season's worth of episodes per year. If you're gonna shitpost, at least try to pick at something slightly harder to retort to.

I like incest but I think the sisters are some of the weaker characters in Monogatari. Nise isn't terrible, but everything it introduces and contributes to the series is better used in future arcs, so it's actually better in retrospect but not in the moment.

I have felt like I grew bored of it on a couple occasions but I always come back and start loving it again.

First time was Kabuki, but then after that is Otori which was great. Then I got tired again with Oni, but after that was Koi which is top tier. The the third time was when Hana came out. I Also took a break a couple episodes into Owari. But after it came Kizu and Zoku which were amazing.

Overall it isn't as consistent as it could be but in the end it is one of my favorite series and I will always look forward to more. There hasn't even been that much of it. 100 episodes and 3 movies over the course of like 10 years.

that still totals out to around 2,400 minutes which is more than a day and a half of your life you're never getting back homolord

>but I think the sisters are some of the weaker characters in Monogatari.
I feel the same. It's probably because the two still don't know about oddities and thus there's only so much you can do with them while keeping them in the dark. Even in Zoku, all they really did was establish the setting by having tiny Karen be the first sign of trouble.

You're missing Reverse.

>which is more than a day and a half of your life you're never getting back homolord
I've wasted way more time than that on way more trivial shit. And again, that's over 10 years, so I've "wasted" 0.046% of my time over that time watching this series. A drop in a bucket. Try harder.

>phoenix: 5
>with a cool fight
>with Teenobu
>with legendary toothbrush scene
>with Ononoki
>with Bird kiss
Okey.

>normiegatari

I can't believe how many people have been memed into believing this boring piece of shit is good.
I bet less than half of you have even watched Nisio's way superior work Katanagatari.

Tentatively, my Bake ep 01 edit is going to be compatible with these releases:

Coalgirls
bushido
ANE
RH
qIIq-THORA
Animezer0-BKT
Sabishii
AWH
Beatrice-Raws
ReinForce

Am I missing anything relevant? NoobSubs and JacobSwaggedUp can't be supported because they're hardsubbed, but the only things you'll be missing out on with an incompatible release are Marathon Mode and subtitle consistency.

Around S2.

LN version was good. Not having Monkey's inner monologue and having Rouka's speech stretched out over 1.5 episodes for no real reason makes it a lot duller.

It maybe repetitive and stale but it's totally not boring and nobody is going to give a fuck about first two as long as it is.

It has it's ups and downs. Not really that repetitive because each season is distinct enough to the others in tone and style.

>Araragi's regrets
That's not how the mirror world works, did Shaft fuck up this arc too or something

Attached: zix6zer1dqi21.jpg (848x825, 201K)

>Not really that repetitive
Really?
>some odd thing occurs, don't know what's even happening anymore

>let's get some help, a hint, talk to someone, hopefully a specialist
