Oh man. The designs and visuals in this are top notch (CGI character shots aside) and the premise makes for something that could be real interesting but these two things set off some red flags. Actually yes, they sometimes use 3D models as a reference for some of the complex shots, said 3D models are "modulable" in the sense that they can be subjected to the classic squash and stretch of 2D animation in order to not feel stiff when they're translated to 2D and/or traced over. It makes for some really fluid and dynamic scenes imho, and it's pretty unique as far as animation techniques go.

Just by going with a constant chapter/episode speed, 57 chapters in 2 cours is doable, and then you have to calculate that they could cut down the lengths of fights a lot.

Eh, I don't really mind ufo's CGI. The big issue with CGI in anime in general is the contrast in terms of shading/coloring with the 2D art that really makes it jarring to look at due to heavily conflicting artstyles. Ufo though usually makes use of compositing on both the 2D and 3D components of their image to give them a sense of unified "vision" through various shades of coloring and lighting, mostly thanks to their director of photography overseeing every single step of the post processing. This is one of the few cases where I feel the usage of CGI is not only really well handled, but also really makes certain scenes stand out visually. Plus their usage and mastery of CGI allows them to do some fantastic camera work due to how they handle the background rotations like we've seen in this episode with Nezuko kicking the demon and Tanjirou running through the traps. And I usually fucking hate bad CGI.

The difference is the art in KnY is rougher while ufo art is sharp and clean. FMA art in manga isn't too different from its art in anime (both ver.) so the transition doesn't feel awkward. Well to be honest some of the gag scenes in FMA anime felt awkward to me. It probably feel more awkward in KnY case.

There's already enough physical comedy in the show anyway. The way Nezuko behaved for the entire episode was quite comedic (digging a hole, the way she climbed into the basket, kicking the guy's head off, hell, the bamboo mouth gag is inherently quite funny).

The thing is in KnY the author takes effort to explain it when it first happened. Then expanding the idea feather afterward. Moreover he actually didn't win the first time it happened and on the second time well he technically doesn't win (akaza can still fight if giyu wasn't there he probably die by now). So it's a plot device yes but the way in which it was present make it acceptable to many people.
