Why would it? He has very high chances of screwing things up to begin with due to his personality, and he may be stuck in a bad situation if he goes after her. Resignation is the perfect word. Remember, no matter who he may (or may not, at this point of the story) like at the moment, he can't have anyone until they graduate so any confession will have to be turned down, at least for the moment, and this is even worse if the girl is crying and panicked to begin with. He can't just say yes to anyone and go with it if he wants to continue helping the quints, the obviously any romantic matter is doubly uncomfortable for him.
At this point he is pretty much burdened by anyone's feelings. Particularly so after the "don't do any gentlemanly move on any on my daughters" things.

I never said I expected him to say yes to any of the quints' confessions now, but nothing in the way he's treated Miku since the end of Scrambled Eggs suggests she's all that special to him. He's not falling all over himself to go after any of the quints, but we know at least Nino and Ichika are on his mind. There have been several instances that could have been used to suggest Miku is as well, but she didn't show up in that fashion there. He was confused by the fake Miku, but he didn't really seem distraught by her "statement" that Miku was going to be supporting Ichika--with the implication being that Miku wouldn't be pursuing him herself. We could have seen a flash of the glomp scene from 67 or the 5 wishes scene in his mind in 72, but those weren't there.
It wouldn't have been that hard to work such scenes into the plot without giving away too much. She's been mostly pushed to the side since the end of Scrambled Eggs in favor of developing Nino and Ichika's feelings.

Because the two of them have had nearly no screen time, partly because of this. Nino and Ichika are on his mind (and even then he still behaves normally with them; the main difference being that with Nino he's aware that she could ask for an answer at any moment, which is a problem and may fluster him; cf the post above), because they forced themselves into it; which isn't necessarily better, given the current context.
He was, he said it himself in the last chapter, that was the whole point. But he already knews that something was "off" about this at this moment anyway, so of course his reaction isn't the reaction of someone that "lost his one and only love" or anything. If anything, his panels screamed "...ok, what the fuck?". Which is normal if he already knew that there's no way Miku would say this.
It would, because it would have been clear signs way too early in the story for it to happen. Which is also pretty much the same reason that turned Miku into a chicken for now. And none of the quint got any real "sign of interest" for now. The point is that at this point the story is way too much of a mess to think that "X has no chance just because Fuutaro didn't do Y". The guy is consciously averting affectionate behaviour and was still considering love as the worst thing to ever exist some chapters before. Judging his actions like one would in a typical situation would only give one result : he doesn't give a fuck about anyone.

Miku is the worst character I've ever seen in this anime. It really pissed me off that such a waifubait, pathetic and cliche ridden character occupied the first spot in the Japanese fan polls conducted.
That speaks volumes about her mouthbreathing fanbase rather than anything else, who have really bad taste and have too much time on their hands.
I shall attempt to enlighten the Mikufags of the various ways she flat out sucks.

The tired yamato nadeshiko trope is applied to her with her long straight hair and meek personality. Compare Miku with Nino, Itsuki or even Yotsuba. She looks too bland and unoriginal compared to the others. Too plain. Just like a bowl of boiled rice.
Grown up Miku looks the worst amongst the quints, with her Takagi type fivehead and weird haircut.

Now all this would not be a problem if her chances of winning were low or non-existent. But judging from the way the author is setting up the story she seems to be a candidate in the forefront. Also judging from Negi's twitter reaction to the latest chapter he seems desparate to placate her fans which leads me to conclude she could win the Fuutaroubowl.
A pity win is the worst possible outcome that an love story could conclude with. Fuck Miku and her pathetic fanboys.

This manga isn't the fucking Voynich Codex, and usually when people spend this much time pulling apart the text and analyzing every last inkblot on the page, the book is the Bible or some other religious text. This series isn't that hard to figure out.
What you're arguing requires stretching a handful of scenes about as far as they'll go. We don't really know how Fuutarou interacts with Nino at his job because we haven't seen any of that since 71. He's suspicious of the situation with Ichika because the fake revelation struck him as really odd for Miku. He suspected she felt something special for him, but his reaction to all of that was almost nonexistent aside from the confusion. He didn't seem to have any problem saying, "Nah, not her." to Itsuki when prodded about Miku having feelings for him. Nino practically had to force him to go after her because he's been more concerned with Nino and Ichika's feelings this whole time. Even then, he was reluctant to go.
And if I liked a girl who wanted to give up her feelings so some other girl could go out with me, I think I'd be more distraught than Fuutarou was, regardless of how suspicious the incident was.
Fuutarou isn't someone with a lot of strong emotions, but he doesn't really hide them either. He was flatter and probably a bit embarrassed by having his suspicions of her feelings confirmed, but it's hard to read his interactions with her since Scrambled Eggs as suggesting he thinks of her as particularly special. He's probably not in love with Nino or Ichika yet either, but their feelings have demonstrably occupied more space in his mind than Miku's.

Saying he has feelings for Miku basically requires interpreting his blush during his acknowledgment in this last chapter as entirely dispositive of it regardless of everything else.
But we can't interpret the blush Nino gave him in chapter 71 in such a way. That would be wrong!
These things don't exist in a vacuum.
Fuutarou's muted, low-key-to-nonexistent responses to all of the issues regarding Miku between 67 and now make it really hard to interpret them as romantic unless you really want to stretch them.
Were we ever shown him being upset that Miku didn't get the cake shop job? No.
Did she show up in his mind when Yotsuba asked him about romance? No.
Did he have a particularly emotional response to the fake Miku's statement? No. He found it odd and suspicious, but he wasn't particularly adamant about following it up with the real Miku. It's hard to get from that scene that he had the whole sham figured out. He knew something was up, but he didn't have the whole picture, including that it was actually Ichika.
Did he seem all that emotional or concerned when Itsuki prodded him about Miku? No. He could have said something indicating he knew some weird stuff was happening, but we got nothing.
Your paragraph about Nino and Ichika being aggressive doesn't really disprove my point. Nino's first two confessions wrecked him for 10+ chapters. Her third one had him "red all over" and blatantly checking out her lips.

He was shown checking out Ichika's lips, too, meaning he clearly hasn't deduced the kisser's identity. One would assume he wouldn't be so concerned with it if he could pick out Miku in disguise and she was the kisser (gets back to my point about 72). His checking of Ichika's lips came well before her dark turn, so she was already on his mind before 75. Negi's spending so much time on those lip scenes because Fuutarou is still figuring out the kisser's identity.
He hasn't bothered with Miku's lips--presumably because he can figure her out already. That would lead to the probable conclusion that he's figured out the kisser isn't her, if that's true. *We* might be shown it as readers to throw us off, but that would still raise the question of why we're being shown those scenes as Fuutarou checking their lips out.
So, arguing he has feelings for Miku basically requires reinterpreting his generally disinterested, muted, low-key responses to issues regarding her since 67 as suggesting he secretly does.
But if he does and he's not bothering to deal with her at the moment, it basically suggests that he's taking her for granted and he'll come back and confess later. Fuutarou doesn't strike me as the sort who would be so arrogant as to take a girl's feelings for granted.
Meanwhile, the two girls he's actually had real emotional responses to--and investigated the lips of--must be the red herrings.

Your post required that a character MUST show every part of his thought and emotion in every single occassion.But Negi rarely do this.For example,we know the kisser is one of the quint,but none of the quints shown genuine embarassment over that kiss for past months,as if nothing happened to them because Negi have to keep it hidden.Same as Rena case,Itsuki never shown any discomfort about what she did when she literally live with Fuutarou for a short while.
Some aspect must be kept hidden so that Negi can continue writing without bias until he decided to reveal it.That just basic writing style especially in mystery-style drama like this.
Also part of Fuutarou character is that he always cautious and not quick to assume things,no matter how obvious they are.Evidence with how he dealt with Miku chocolate,he was dissmissive but he never just forget about it.Same with Yotsuba in 7 Goodbyes,during on boat ride with Rena he seems to had an idea about her but choose to rather not delve any further.The kiss was also like this,he check their lips and then choose to not pry it open because he wasn't sure.
He isn't forceful enough to show strong emotion over something he only get a vague grasp on,he only show it AFTER he get solid confirmation.
If Fuutarou ever fall in love,he won't immediately show it ASAP.It would take time for him to accept it.
