Has there been other examples of famous people being represented in anime/manga?

No. Not ever.
SHAMONA u ye hee h
Lots. But a fair number of times, it's Japanese celebrities.
I believe Obama was in... Air Gear? Pretty sure the Beatles have been in multiple anime. Bruce Willis was in Hellsing... the more open to parody you are, the more you'll see, I'd wager.
Tommy Lee Jones
Obligatory
i just watched this for the first time
Hmm hm hmm hmmm hm hm hm hmmm hm.
>when anime has a less exaggerrated colour palette than real life

I know there is a David Bowie character.
No bad fake tan so can't be Trump.
I don't remember the show, but I remember seeing a Stallone appearance.

From Highlander to shitty Toki clone
Ani ayuwoki

e-celebs don't count. Though why Doug and James? No one outside of their respected fans know who they are.
Trump would make a good Akagi/Kaiji villain
>God blessed and sanctified the most powerful Beyblade ever
>That's why the Pharaoh was so salty, because he lost a Beyblade match.
Not Cheetos enough.
a hee heee cha na na na naa cha na na na na ahee heee
AVGN had a pretty big following on NicoNico at one point.
>Has there been other examples of famous people being represented in anime/manga?
One Piece has a lot of homages to western celebrities. The number one homage celebrity in One Piece is Michael Jackson. MJ had quite a few episodes in which there were DIFFERENT anime characters used to pay homage.
Yujiro Hanma is modeled after Matt Dillon.
Doesn't Steven Tyler have 2 characters based off of him?
>Ace was based on Stevie Ray Vaughan
He even dies too young, too
LEE from Naruto
the best
That's a cosplay, you fucking moron.
Former UFC Champion and WWE regular Brock Lesnar was the inspiration for the bulky "Armored Titan,"
I think the best was when Time Bokan 24 did it because it put him in the White House the same exact week the elections happened. It hadn't even been five days.
He looks a little quality there, so that makes sense.
Oka a hack!
You don't count Michael himself?
SHAMONE
There are already two Jim Carry. Bon Clay and Frankie.
Orochimaru is also a MJ copy.
He dropped the tan a while ago
A couple of US presidents (and Hillary) show up in Baki, but only to show off how much of a badass Yujiro is.
What an upstanding young man
Jango was pretty clearly based off of Michael Jackson
Fuck off and kill yourself.
Wait, Girls und Panzer has boys?
Bon Jovi appears in the last season of Teekyuu. Probably some other figures
as well.
On Twitter, writer Mitsuro Kubo admitted that she wrote the role of Victor Nikiforov (Yuri on Ice) with actor John Cameron Mitchell in mind.
>El Ayuwoki
Leave it to the Mexicans to invent yet another one of their slurs for Michael Jackson.
Were they filming avgn vs nostalgia critic?
>half characters in jojo
>Half the characters in dragon ball/z
>Half the characters in cowboy bebop
>Half of the characters in fist of the north star
>Elvis presly, pamela anderson, and a whole slew of 80s action movie stars - every time you want to show a character is an american
They put Obama in Air Gear. It was also at that point that the series went in to a full nosedive to shitsville and crashed with no survivors.
It's not really a celebrity thing but I feel funny when explicitly caucasian people are depicted
the second line is so on character
I see a lot of Trump, but nobody here is talking about president Cliff
He looks QUALITY in real life, so it's fine.
I unironically love t.a.t.u. Non english songs
>literally running
Seriously, with either him or Sanders, the Dems would stand a chance next time.
another rapist
MJ did nothing wrong.
Shawn Conecone
The best character from D-Frag, and he gets used a lot as well. Not to mention it's a multi-layered cameo as well.
Yes, Obama was in air gear.
And in To aru majutsu no index, although as just a cameo.
Why did Japanese people want to put Obama's mind into the body of cute girls?
>Using his power to summon demons to do your bidding to revive Michael Jackson just to fuck around during summer vacation
Peak Samon was so fucking good, my god.
Not revive, just have the spirit over, I know, but still.
When it was just about the scum duo screwing over people with the power of hell, that manga was just amazing.
And I loved how Kuzuryuu and Samon were actual, real friends with a fairly well-written friendship for a manga. Like, a lot of the time, they decided on their scams while they were just hanging out, having a good time. Despite it beginning because Kuzu is trash and Samon wanted to see him suffer, they developed a surprisingly wholesome friendship, which only made it funnier that they were such little shits.
lel, intersectional identitarians are going to tear the dems a part
Commodore Perry appears in a few other anime if I recall.
Shingeki no Kyoujin season 1 had Titans that resembled Nicholas Cage and Freddy Mercury IIRC.
Don't forget Richard Stallman
Is it weird to say that I almost felt this scene the first time I watched it. More than just chills.
Is that Ore Monogatari!!?
This. His body of artistic work was well worth whatever else he did.
No. You posted the only example of this ever happening, OP.
Helps when the mangaka is a gigantic westaboo.
Does this count?
dad movie best movie
One of my favorite Yea Forums threads of all time was when someone TL'ed and dumped this with no warning. That thread went insane when this happened.
Read Baki.
Famous people and famous fighters appear in it all the time
Well there was that time Yatterman made Obama and Hilary into shota and loli. And you had big papa Bill too.
Sun Ken Rock has AT LEAST, Tony Jaa and Charles Bronson as secondary characters..
wait how the fuck this meme come to japan
They really like spic memes, that's why they made DBZ
Jackson is probably one of the most well-known US Americans in the world.
yeah i know but the Ayuwoki thing isnt famous out side spics
MJ is literally Yea Forums.
Based as fuck and loves children.

If you could link it that'd be great.
>Hody
>MJ
not really
How do nips view him over there? I've read conflicting perceptions about him.
if weren't for the shitty romance subplot, it would be a great manga
That manga has other 27 club musicians too.
Kek
Oh shit, Bad Bo was in anime???
This might be one of the few times a muscian mentioned in JJBA acknowledges their reference.
instagram.com
a little more darker and square than his actual face, that and Obama actually has pretty thin lips.
Supposedly Prince was completely fine with/fond of Part 5 but due to some rights-related issues at the time, his attorneys basically did not let the PS2 game get an international release.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bowie knew about his references too.
Western media being referenced in anime always cracks me up.
Sabagebu was a goldmine.
youtu.be
Brooke Shields, Vivien Leigh and Jenifer Connolly are the only ones I recall but the girls across the top half are all based on actresses.
>genious musician
AYUWOKI
Isnt actually kenshiro older than mad max? I think mand max 2 was around 1980 and the Hokuto no Ken manga was around mid 70s
Doke doke dokee~!
Fist of the North Star manga was early 80's, the first Mad Max was late 70's I believe.
Kenshiro came after Mad Max 1 and 2 but before thunderdome
I have seen the Mad Max movies, I as far as I remember the first one is not post apocalyptic and it has the generic 80s style. The second one took a drastic turn and choose the post apocalyptic scenery as its main theme. Theres also another movie that is called The boy and the dog. It was released late 70s and Mad Max 2 had lots of similarities from that movie
So whos, referencing who?
You coulsnt be any farther from the truth user...
Fist takes inspiration from Mad max 2 which came out 2 or 3 years before i think.
some of these are a stretch
en.wikipedia.org
>Mad Max is a 1979 Australian dystopian action film directed by George Miller, produced by Byron Kennedy, and starring Mel Gibson as "Mad" Max Rockatansky
en.wikipedia.org
>Fist of the North Star (Japanese: 北斗の拳 Hepburn: Hokuto no Ken, lit. "Fist of the Big Dipper")[a] is a Japanese manga series written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1983 to 1988
Anyway, to keep this post on-topic, another big inspiration for Kenshiro was Sly Stallone.
>one of the most well-known US Americans in the world
Dude was THE most famous person of the modern age, second (arguably) only to Jesus
Any one with a pair of eyes can see Jackson changing trough the years
You could make and entire thread of Japanese Bruce Lee clones
>Rock Lee
>Marshal Law
>Early Kenshiro
>SF 4 has one
>Hell most fighting games have one at some point
the first Mad Max is set while the world is declining into the post-apocalyptic setting of the sequels. It's still mostly recognizable ass "our" world, but things are noticeably worse for most people
>still no hotshotgg
Come on guys
Has Donny shown up yet, because I find it hard to believe he wouldn't find a way to piss off Yujiro
>Invites him over to talk buisness
>Both have to be the biggest dick in the room so tension right off the bat
>Somehow Yujiro dosen't pulp Trump and leaves peacefully
>Trump immediately starts talking shit over twitter the moment Yujiro leaves the room
>Yujiro dosen't kill him because it'd be two much trouble in the end
>Starts shitposting back
>Baki finds out his father's only weakness is twitter flame wars
>Series becomes "Baki the Shitposter"
>Western shit
He did. Upon first entering the oval office, Obama's pretty chill by this point since he's dealt with Yujiro for years (and is now finally free) and warns Trump about him, and obviously Trump thinks it's not a big deal and decides later he will be the one to finally stop the nonaggression deals. He then damn near shits himself upon meeting Yujiro and compares it to seeing WMDs in person before going forward with swearing the oath. A similar event happens with Hillary in another chapter.
And in the volume extras, his son, Harrison Ford.
Still waiting impatiently for new chapters.
Namedrops.
