It's probably really hard for most readers to actually understand that Tanya personally doesn't enjoy all the shit that's happening. Like readers will go "aw yeah so awesome, I'd love to be like that" but Tanya is just like "what the fuck, leave me alone" while being too restricted by former life memories to change it for the better (as well as having Sonzai X making sure Tanya stays on course). Even if the readers understand cognitively, they won't ever take it to heart and will look at Tanya's situation with envy and such.

But I can't stand stuff like how when that one noble wanted the exclusive rights to sell chocolate, Isaac assumes that the noble threatened to hire thugs to burn down and attack his businesses, to which the noble is indignant that Isaac even considered that, since that is not noble behavior. A few chapters later, he then hires thugs to assault that merchant who plead with the king to pardon the wife and son of his brother, who were going to be executed along with his brother because of Isaac framing him. All because that merchant asked the king's instead of his first.

That's just a matter of knowing enough grammar and vocabulary to properly write in into the target language. You can get that just by reading a lot.
Besides you can write an interesting story with limited vocabulary and simple sentences. Having your entire book read like poetry just feels like you're either trying to get high on your own farts or you're overcompensating.
